This book is an example of a great storyline but the use of so many trite phrases and editing errors ground my reading to a stop so often that this little book took 3 days to read!
The premises, a driven, arrogant attorney who only cares about the fast-track to partnership and the money that comes with her prestigous job, develops amnesia after a car wreck. While trying to relearn who she is (and what she does), she finds that her cat is giving her very good advice ("find your sun", "naps are good") and she is understanding her!
Unfortunately, the inclusion of the talking cat is not kept up as a pertinent part of the story - in some sections, too much time goes by as just a normal romance and the talking cat part is forgotten or ignored (and cats HATE to be ignored!). The author did a wonderful job of showing how stressed and confused our heroine was after her wreck, and really did a great job with the introspection she endured over the next 3 months. I was touched as she debated whether to try for her old job back as she compared it to her jobs ATW (After the wreck) - Mickey D's and then Hospital Volunteeer Coordinator Secretary. The law job paid well but the politics and backstabbing had been causing her mucho stress, while McDonalds paid very little but taught her that her co-workers could be encouraging and friendly and her hospital job could be downright family-feeling.
All in all, a decent book - 2nd in a series - and maybe worth checking out the other books, where this time the dogs rule.

May 14, 2017When McKenna Wright is in a serious car accident, she is forced to reevaluate her life and priorities. The best part of this book was watching the transformation of McKenna Wright from high-powered lawyer to McDonald’s employee to hospital secretary. Her life lessons in humility and gratitude are realistic and funny. The romance between her and a former adversary is wonderfully done.

MFC is an idiot, her friends are jerks, plot is excruciatingly slow, love interest is your typical cowboy. Way to go, originality.

I got this book for $1 from a Half Price Books Outlet. It looked fun, if not serious. I had low expectations, and they were met and exceeded! This book was funny, sweet, thoughtful, pretty much everything enjoyable. I love a good amnesia trope and absurd situations like talking cats. My only complaint would be some very repetitive idiomatic phrases that probs should have been edited out. Other than that it was a smooth read! 3.75/5

Not enough cat! A good read however the ending was highly predictable. A 3.5 star rating to be precise

I love cats and while my genre is more murder mystery, I do like some romance books. I enjoyed this book. There was enough of a mystery and intrigue that I kept reading it. It was a little long, still I would recommend it to anyone.

It was really interesting to think of how the accident really was the best for McKenna and put yourself in her shoes, wondering how hard it must have been for her and how you really would have to rely on family and friends, not that her family was there for her. It was interesting how Adam was introduced, why did she give him much change after he tried to take advantage of her???

A hot shot beautiful alpha-female attorney has a car accident that leaves her with amnesia. Hero is opposing attorney in a high profile case. Journey of self discovery to decide what kind of woman heroine wants to be. btw talking cat and love.

I've read this book twice. My favorite part is the "talking cat" Tiki, and her attitude.
