Never make a deal with a fae, they say. But sometimes there’s no choice, consequences be damned.
As daughters of the Amadis royal family, my twin Brielle and I should have been helping our people rebuild civilization after the War of Armageddon. Instead, our mother does the unthinkable, possibly sparking a new war, and we’re whisked away to another realm to hide us from our enemies. When we return home, we discover our parents are missing, our people have scattered, and every faction hunts the Knight twins.
Some are obsessed with claiming our formidable power for themselves. Others simply want us dead.
Still, I can’t believe we’re home for less than a day when I end up as Winter Court’s prisoner in Faery. And it only gets worse from there.
To protect my sister, I’ve made a deal with a fae that shatters any hopes for my own future.
A dark prince ignites something in me that feels all wrong and oh, so right.
And then there’s the enchanting princess I ache for . . . yet can never have.
Foes become allies, friends become traitors, and one truth emerges with war is imminent.
My only hope to protect everyone I love is to harness the dark power within me—a force that can save worlds or annihilate us all. If I fail to control it, someone else will. But to master it, I must face my most daunting opponent yet—myself. Knights of Souls and Shadows is the spinoff series of the internationally best-selling, award-winning Soul Savers series with over one million books read. You don’t need to read Soul Savers first. This new adventure is a series all on its own, featuring the next generation in their own pursuit to save the worlds—or at least try not to destroy them all.

Fantastic.... just fantastic

This story is a the first in a new series following the lives of the Knight twins from the Soul Saver and Sun and Moon Academy series. The book follows their trials and tribulations as they come into adulthood as the children of the leader of the Amadis, the Angel's Army on earth. They are descended of angel, demon, faery, and more and possess powers no one has ever seen before. These powers can be their salvation or their demise. Their journey through finding themselves and learning about who they are is what Kristie explores in this first book.

I just finished Knights of Souls and and that cliffhanger!!!! As always, Kristie Cook continues to enthrall, enrapture, and infuriate the reader as youread through her stories. Her gift for descriptive writing continues to blow my mind and inspire me! While reading, I often had to stop to reread to simply relish in the picture that Kristie had painted in such vivid detail. It is a true gift. This book has been something that avid fans have waited a long time for, but I for one am so glad that Kristie allowed the story to shape itself into what it needed to be even if it was a longer wait. Stories like that of Soul Savers and now Knights of Souls and Shadows need to be allowed to write themselves because trying to force them could never do them justice.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Let me start by saying I really liked this book a lot. It was easy to sit down and read it in a day because it held my attention. It contained a lot of story going back and forth in time as background information from Brielle and Elliana's past was provided in bits and pieces. I think to understand this series better one would need to read the previous Age of Angels series. A bonus would be to read the two Sun and Moon Academy books.

The one thing that I found irritating was the Unseelie princess or queen (Maeve) using the term Doll when talking to Elliana. As in "What are you doing doll?" She sounded like a gum smacking wise cracker from the 40s or something and that just didn't fit my perceptions of members of the Unseelie Winter Court. Again, that's my perceptions.

I would recommend this story to others interested in this genre. I look forward to the next book in this series which I'm hoping will focus more Brielle and possibly Tor.

I will start by saying this book has a MAJOR CLIFFHANGER so if you are impatient like me...waiting for the next book in the series is PAINFUL!!
Kristie Cook has done it again with a fast paced and entertaining series. This book is a spin off of the Soul Saver series but you don't have to read them to enjoy this one as Kristie goes back and forth to explain the back story. Because I have read all the Soul Saver books...I did understand/remember characters as reading.
This is Brielle and Elliana's story, children of the leader of Amadis, the Angel's Army on Earth and protectors of all. The twins possess powers that no one has ever seen and many want to either use the twins or control them because of their powers. This book is about finding themselves, their powers, and learning who to trust...and always protecting each other...no matter what the sacrifice.
Great Story...Great Author....now push that "Buy Now' button and start reading :)

I was offered an advance review copy in exchange for my honest review.

I fell in love with the Amadis, Alexis & Tristan when I stumbled across ‘Promise’ as it was called back then, and I’ve read & re-read every book until they are all but memorised!

Kristie Cook is an ingenious author managing to weave so many threads and life stories into many books & series, Soul Savers, Havenwood Falls, Age of Angels and now the Knights of Souls and Shadows without losing any of the strength of character or plot.

I thought I might have outgrown the Amadis & Earths Angels now the tale had moved on to Brielle & Elliana. I was wrong.

I received this as an ARC for an honest review. First off, yes Cliffhanger, how ever it does have a decent pause spot, I have read other authors who basically leave off at a scene to end it with no epliogue, but that is not the case for this book. I met the twins in the Havenwood Falls series. I was definitely intrigued with them. This book did not disappoint at all! I enjoyed the references to their college days, and I haven't read the Soul series, but this was very easy to follow, no need to read the previous series. It's a great start to the new series, lots of twists and turns. Can't wait to read more!

Knights of Souls and Shadows by Kristie Cook is the first book in the long-awaited spin-off series to Soul Savers Set where we met the oh so swoon-worthy Tristian Knight and sweet, but next-in-line to the Amadis throne, Sexy, Lexy. I fell in love with the series and continue to be engaged with this next generation. I absolutely love Kristie's unique ability to weave her characters through several books and series without losing anything in the translation. loved this new addition and can't wait for more!!!

This book is a great continuation of the Soul Savers series, following Alexis and Tristans daughter's, with this first book focusing on Elliana as she learns to develop and control her powers. This book can definitely be read as a great stand alone book, but reading the previous stories in Age of Angels and Sun and Moon academy will give you some extra background. There's a great cliffhanger at the end of the book, and I can't wait for the next book to hear Brielle's side of the story and the future of the Knight twins!

Grabbed this one for a challenge, author with the same name as you. It was decent. Had all the elements of a far story with some shifter, angel and demons thrown in. Elves and other races are at play here too, and the main character is a twin. She's in love with an elf princess, which is of course forbidden. I felt like there could have been something with Tor, but apparently that's in the next book maybe? Anyways. Full of tropes and action, decent read with romance, intrigue and secrets. Probably won't continue the series but we will see.

As with the original Soul Savers series this continuation is excellent. Combine worlds within worlds and descriptive writing and you have this author to thank! The world of the Soul Savers and this continuation series is just fantastic. The author also has the ability to place the reader inside the mind of a writer with an excellent imagination. This series is exactly what a lover of worlds and imagination needs to read. Highly recommended.

Spoiler Free!
You know that feeling when you get towards the end of a book and realise that it’s going to end soon, you want to slow down to make it last longer but desperately need to know where it’s going, that’s this. For fans of the series YOU WILL LOVE IT, it’s like falling in love with Alexis’ story in the beginning all over again. If you are new to it, you could read this as a stand alone but don’t deny yourself start from the beginning A Demons Promise and work your way up to this.
