What a fun read! The author creates a character, Mayella, who answers scam emails. Through the emails, Mayella relates the off-the-wall happenings in her life. I think she's the most original, flamboyant, and hilarious character to come along since John Kennedy Toole's Ignacius Reilly. I also enjoyed the author's use of names from works of great literature. It's like an Easter egg hunt for bibliophiles.

It was also interesting to see the workings of these internet scams. Often the fraudsters' ploys and their use of the English language are so outrageous, it's downright funny. It's amazing there are enough people who fall for this stuff that the scammers find it worthwhile to stay in business.

I loved this little gem of a book! Anyone who loves literature will appreciate the references and allusions to many of our favorite writers, and anyone who has received badly written scam e-mails will especially appreciate Mayella's chutzpah! Way to go, Claire!!
