Vampire Emily

Rate this book
Emily’s beautiful life is upended as she is turned into a vampire. Betrayed, she is thrown into a world of the supernatural where vampires, werewolves and witches exist in a fragile peace. Emily must navigate this confusing new world, her tempestuous relationship with her creators who are bound to protect her, as she herself embarks on a mission to avenge all that has been taken from her, by her makers. Reader "The story itself was really interesting and the world-building was brilliant. The inclusion of witches and lycans and the shared history between the three species established a really solid history for your story." Mikyla R“I really enjoyed the book. The concept is very interesting, and I loved the plot twist. I love the way you’ve portrayed vampires, it’s different to most of the fiction I’ve read in the past, fascinating.”- Alex

An intriguing take on the vampire story

A tragedy at her best friend’s wedding becomes the trigger for Emily’s life to change forever. She becomes an unwilling participant in a world she didn’t know existed, and a pawn in a centuries old rivalry.

This is a gripping story with many interesting and intriguing elements. I found I couldn’t put it down and read it all in a single day. Emily is a likeable and believable blend of vulnerable and driven, who doesn’t give in when many might have done.

For 5* I’d have liked to see more development and in depth exploration of some of the ideas and characters. And a little more proofreading. But overall this was a most enjoyable read.

Really enjoyed this as a self confessed vampire nut. Echoes of Underworld and Interview With a Vampire. An excellent first story from a new author.

I really enjoyed this book! Which is saying something as i've been finding it really difficult to get into any books over the last few years (during lockdown).

The central character is likable and the world it creates is very believable. (Given that there's magic and vampires and stuff) I liked some of the details that reminded me of my travels in east Asia.

But mostly I was totally hooked on the twists and turns of the story and can't wait for the next book to come out

Just imagine if your life has turned upside down. First, it seemed perfect like the pieces of puzzle joint together, but now those pieces of puzzle are falling off one by one. From love to the surge of grief, the respite of peace to fear again. The heart still beats but now it is lying still. And just like the wave of the ocean, the series of events in your life has transported you to a mystic world that you didn’t know existed. Imagine meeting a version of you that you didn’t know, you could become someday.

From love to grief, peace to fear and heart beat to lying still. You will witness everything.

Will Emily settle down in her new life or she will do anything to get everything back?

Interesting and dramatic

I liked it, it's well written, the characters are well developed and complex. Poor Emily suffers a lot, she's stolen away, and her nice and normal life is destroyed. Most of the characters seem very manipulative, and awful people, and it's interesting to see how Emily deals with it when it seems like she's surrounded by people she can't trust.

A very well written book with lots of twists and turns. Emily is an extraordinary character, you can feel all the suffering, love, hatred and power within her. There's so many elements of this story, I just couldn't put it down. Highly recommend.
