Sebastian “Seba” Dudu is a courier, called by his English (gun cartel) boss Max to deliver a Pax to Lagos, Nigeria. Internally, Seba is ecstatic to go to Nigeria to see the love of his life, Linda Etti, who is less than thrilled about Seba’s current occupation. His mission is to deliver a PDS to a client at the Eko Hotel, where Seba will be staying. The PDS is “the forerunner of a device known as a Digitizer,” …it deciphers codes that intercept highly defined military warheads.” (location 109 of 4466) Seba’s plan is to leave Nigeria the next day, but circumstances prevented his departure. When Seba deplaned and met his waiting driver, there was someone else lurking in the darkness to both ensure and report on his arrival. Seba never met with Max’s client; instead, he received an emergency call to get out of the hotel before he was killed. Many people wanted to get their hands on this piece of weaponry, including the Jamaican assassin watching him in the dark, the Glove, a five-man operation, and Senator Sanni, the crooked politician running for the presidency, all for different personal reasons. As Seba runs from Nigeria to Cuba and back again, not knowing who to trust, he must juggle those who want him dead, keeping the PDS safe, and his love life. His life—and Linda’s life—depend on it; and Seba has everything to lose unless he can find his way out of Hell Road.

This thrilling novel had me holding my breath as the plot advanced and crescendoed. I can vouch from personal tachycardia that it was heart-pounding and truly exciting right from the beginning, which draws you in immediately, through the climax, to the satisfying ending. Tom Lash Kilo can most certainly pen a thriller, and I’m so grateful that he chose me to read his work! The writing was quite intelligent, and even though I struggled just a bit with the King’s English phrases, Nigerian, and Pidgin English, I easily interpreted the scenes through context. In my humble opinion, I believe this work would translate perfectly into a Hollywood production; I, for one, would love to see the characters, action, and storyline portrayed on a big screen. I enthusiastically recommend this novel to all fans of thrillers, crime stories, and mysteries.

I’d like to thank Tom Lash Kilo and Harmony Publishing for the ability to read and review this ARC.

I'll start with the Secret Agents & National Intelligence Agency (NIA). In this thriller novel, the NIA in Nigeria are on Senator Sanni's tail, a fictional politician and presidential candidate who has dealings that, if leaked, will destroy his political career. Not only is he covering up his tracks by all means but is still colluding with International terrorists to bring in a PD-Bomb into the country.

Meanwhile, Dr. Badru, a physicist believes feels We Africans are endowed with resources yet do not out their intellect into its management and the enlightened West are obsessed about world control that they trample on others. Hence his New World Order idea is to clear a large population of the world before establishing a solitary government that all nations should be ruled by. To achieve this Dr. Badru partners with the Senator's acolyte, Umar and the international terrorist, for personal reasons. Since all want to acquire the Nuclear PD-Bomb (PDS + Digitizer) that will wipe away millions, they work together but here is the problem, each man is involved for selfish reasons and none trust the other. Power play comes in.

The Oblivious Courier, Sebastian is a British Nigerian who delivers weapons for clients and the story dances around him. Seba's fiancée however is an Investigative Journalist on the tail of the Senator. An assassin, however is on Sebastian's tracks. With so many lives lost and good men down, I wondered if the Senator would be caught, or ascend the presidential seat or if the Courier will be gunned down and the atomic bomb will deliver like the physicist craved. If the International terrorist will have 'his way'. I don't want to divulge much so you've to read this to put the puzzle pieces together as it's quite a book.

The way Tom Lash Kilo, weaves the stories of each character to link and intertwine is brilliant as Hell Road involves dirty games, killings, gun downs, a chase, love in the storm and the usual good guy/bad guy race but it is unusually told.

This is the first time I'm reading (by a Nigerian writer) a fine crime and thriller novel written with detailed information on the country's situation, infused with good knowledge of technology, precision, good settings, a moving plot, all with fine characters that centers Nigerians & Nigeria. This was written with Nigerians in mind. The only thing that might have stressed me was following the slow unraveling of the catch. I wanted the Senator caught in no time. Although it's understandable that the story had to be believable. It was and penned down well so with acute descriptions and unpredictable outcomes. Set in Nigeria, Cuba, with reference to other places like the United States & the U.K., Hell Road was a hell of a ride and Tom Lash Kilo may be a new voice in the literary world but a strong one.

If you like James Bond action and intrigue, Hell Road: The Courier is for you

Seba is the courier and his job is to deliver a PAX that contains a PDS device a piece of technology that can activate “a weapon that deciphers codes capable of launching submarine missiles and advanced military artillery… a weapon that activates other weapons”.

But when Seba senses a setup, he delivers the PAX/PDS but retains the memory card rendering the technology useless. Various gangs, for various reasons want to get the weapon and the memory card and an international chase ensues with multiple shootouts and assassination attempts punctuated with scenes where the male characters get to display their sexual prowess with gorgeous, willing women.

Eventually, it becomes apparent that Senator Sanni, a powerful and ruthless Nigerian politician is involved in a conspiracy with the terrorist organization Saal-dar to overthrow the legitimate government and the weapon will be the conspirators' trump card.

In a world where deceit and deception are the rule and loyalty is bought and paid for and bought again nothing is as it seems. Who will prevail? Will the weapon fall into the hands of a fascist, a terrorist or be destroyed by those who lately have grown a conscience?

Hell Road: The Courier by Tom Lash Kilo is a novel of international intrigue, politics, terrorists, suave, dangerous men, gorgeous, willing women, hot cars and trendy locations. If you like James Bond movies Hell Road: The Courier is a book for you.

4 stars (In reality it is 4.5 stars but Goodreads only lets me 5)

Hell Road: The Courier is a thriller with lots of killings, car chases, action, adventure...I have to say that this is not exactly the kind of book genre that I like reading, I usually enjoy more fantasy books and dystopian stories, so it was like a challenge for me. The author offered me to read it and make an honest review and I was like..."why not, maybe I'll end up liking that genre again" and it did live up to my expectations, for me to put this type of book 4.5 stars is that I really enjoyed every part of it, so I will be waiting for the next book of this author, I hope he lets me read it...

The main character of this book is Seba (Sebastian) a courier who delivers weapons, but this time he has to deliver a dangerous thing, a PDS with a Digitizer that could form a Nuclear PD-Bomb that could wipe away millions of lives. Seba does not know this but he keeps the memory card, which I will say was a mistake because it would eventually turn against him as he would end up involved in a chase from both sides who want to get their hands on that weapon.

There are various characters who want to use it for their benefit and for bad purposes, like the Senator Sanni who wants to overthrow the legitimate government and whose secrets could destroy his career, and also Dr. Badru, I liked this character a lot as he reminded me in a way of Thanos (personal opinion, If you do not know Marvel do not worry).

There is also the character of Seba's fiancée who is an Investigative Journalist that is looking into the Senator's case, but I preferred Sebastian so that is why I didn't mention her earlier.

I think I will finish this review now as it is getting quite long (oops)... I really loved this book, I didn't have much time to read it as I had work and other things to do so every time I could I would continue, and I must say that all those twists and turns in the book left me wanting more free time to read and finish this book as quickly as possible. I wanted to know who ends up winning.

This book is worth the read!! Whether you like this genre or not (like me) just give it a go and you'll discover an amazing book and author.<\b>

4.5/5★

Thank you to Tom Lash Kilo for providing me with a free copy of this novel in exchange for a review :))

When the author reached out for me to review this book, I was initially a bit skeptical to accept, because I'm typically not the biggest fan of thrillers. However, that being said, I really really did enjoy this novel. It felt less like having to read a harrowing novel and instead like watching an action movie take place in my mind.

I can honestly say that I've never read a book quite like this. There is such nice imagery and reading the novel felt like putting together pieces of a puzzle. It was incredible getting to read about Nigeria and Cuba (and learn more about the cultures and settings of both). Although it did take me longer to get through this book than most other books (probably because I had been stuck in a 3-month long book slump at the time I started reading this), the chapters were relatively short and fast-paced.

Although I tend to stick to my romance novels, I really did enjoy this book and I think anyone (especially James Bond/Mission Impossible-loving thriller readers) would love to read this novel!!

Hell Road: The Courier has fights, car chases, killing, and all sorts of action packed awesome things. You are never going to be bored when reading this novel. What really stood out to me was the writing. This book was just really well written. Our author can convey a lot of information in a short amount of time. I immediately knew my main character, what he does and who he was as a person in a quick, efficient and clear manner all in chapter one. The whole book followed this fast paced style of flow. I really appreciated that there wasn’t any unnecessary fluff and filler information. Everything I read came into play immediately or down the road. There are a lot of characters but they all serve a purpose and have a unique personality.

This book is a high intensity, action packed/thriller type of feel. Even when you aren’t in a shooting/car chase, you still get that nail biting, high intensity feeling. I know a lot of people have compared it to various movies and this one felt like a James Bond/Tom Cruise movie to me. I could easily see this being put on the big screen.

I feel like this action, shot them up type of style book would be perfect for young to middle aged men. However, I am a 28 year old female that has never been to Nigeria and typically reads romance novels. I still found the story enjoyable, the writing well done and the characters to be memorable. This was an excellent novel by Tom Lash Kilo.

" A well-written page turner with every bit of suspense and thrill possible"

Not sure if this is the first book of the author. If this is.... THIS IS FREAKIN" AWESOME!!!!!

A mind-blowing suspense/action/thriller about a simple delivery gone south. Seba, aka Sebastian Dudu, goes out for a delivery like any other day until a mysterious gang namely, The Glove; an unidentified psychopathic killer and supposedly a Senator become thirsty for his blood. And the mad hunt begins. What a hunt that is my my!!!!!

Whew!!! It's been a while since I wrote in such detail.

Let's go by order. Sebastian Dudu, a weapon courier boy working for a gunrunner gets an exclusive assignment to finish at the last minute. Though somewhat odd, Seba complies to the job.
At the other side of the continent was his girlfriend, Linda, an investigative journalist who was gravely against his job. And so Seba thought of leaving the field, many times. Only to give in to the tempting cheques. At first glance, Seba looks completely in love with his long-distance girlfriend, except. He ends up hooking up with two different women at two different places amidst all the chaos. Though committed to his job and boss, that man sure has some commitment issues when it comes to relationships. Yes, he works it out later, but still. A cheater's always a cheater.

Then comes the big gang running for Seba's life. The Glove. Teamed up with the fiercest and the cruelest henchmen, the four-men gang had a passionate assignment to finish off Seba and retrieve the courier he was meant to deliver. Then joins then the black-market-know-it-all Maduka Uchendu who ends up being their wheel guy.

When the gang goes after Seba, a suspicious Jamaican assassin, Jamo, fiercely ends up into a killing spree. And to be honest, that man creeped the hell out of me. I mean, us mortals breath oxygen. Him? He breaths in blood. He eats blood he sleeps blood he even sees blood. As if he's on a "I'll kill anyone on earth that is not me" mission. That heinous being ends up killing a disturbing number of people throughout the chase and well, let's say he pays the price.

Away from the killing spree, Senator Jibril Sanni is seen holding a celebration for his presidential announcement when he receives an envelope which holds witness to the deeds he did and threatens to go viral unless his withdrawal comes before. Who sent those? Rivals? A spy? Or someone who knows the Senator In and out?

Away from the celebrations, amidst the chaos awaits Umar Mukhtar, the Senator's right hand man and adopted godson for his package to arrive. On his phone, he has his assassins ready for the possible elimination of the courier guy. Only, Seba ends up begging him for help. To nobody's surprise, he denies. From that point on begins Sebas's wild goose-car-chases which are so freakishly mind blowing I had goosebumps.

As the plot goes, when his one-day work-trip to Lagos turns into a wild-goose chase, trust and loyalty take a backseat. With a lethal weapon in his package, it gets even more threatening. For all he knows, those killers are after him, and the package as well.
Who exactly are these people? And why are they after him? Well, that is the mystery begging to be solved in the most unexpected and nerve-wrenching manner. The plot moves further and we meet several strong and curious characters ahead that have equal importance throughout the story. Does Seba make it alive? Do they get the package? And, why would anyone want a mere courier dead? These are the questions that keep popping in your head and the answers keep changing with each turn of page.

Since I'm a slow reader it took me a while to get in all the details and let me tell you this: This book is thoroughly detailed about each and every stuff. Which is why I found it a tad too wordy at some places but nevertheless, it was enjoyable although. It's a full doze of mystery, action, trust , betrayal, life, death, justice and many more. Set in the backdrop of Nigeria, it has got an amazing imagery of the locations for for the readers to actually be able to easily imagine the scenarios. It's got some extreme level of action and bloodied scenes which wouldn't have creeped me out so much if not for the lunatic Jamaican. He ate a precious star of mine. I swear I would've gotten violent if he kept going on for any more longer.
The author has brought out some sensitive aspects as well. Such as:

The plot has a painfully accurate picture of misguidance, cruelty, racism, terrorism and what leads to it. One part that hit me the most is that, unlike thousands of other people around the world, this author brought up the fact that, terrorism doesn't have anything do with Islam. To that, I shall convey my thanks to him. It's a sensitive subject to talk ahead to I'll stop right here.

As I said at the beginning, it's a well written page turner with a very much captivating and rich storyline and a strong background for each of the characters, leaving some curiosity for each of them throughout the plot. Sebastian Dudu might be the beginning of the story, after each page, you'll find a new and shrewd player controlling the reins and taking the game ahead. It indeed kept me on my toes and up for until 4 am in the morning.
It might be a little long read, but for the thriller zombies out there, this is fresh meat. Grab your copies and enjoy some nasty wild goose chase with a hot cocoa.

* My utmost gratitude to the author for reaching out to me and sharing the copy with me in exchange of my honest review. I'm fiercely hoping for the next part, which given the title, hints that this might be the beginning to a mind-blowing series.

Happy Reading!!!!!

This is my first time reading this author or even a book of this type or any book set in Nigeria. I read thrillers a lot but not like this one.

This one felt really like an action movie happening on my phone. There's chase, killing, fast-paced action and anything you would expect from a thriller. The book revolves around a huge drug conspiracy or mafia, if I can say that.

The settings and the vivid descriptions are the highlight of this book. Despite the theme being extremely serious, the language used is very simple. People who are beginners to reading or to this genre can still go for it.

The only thing I felt a bit difficult initially was with the length of the book. However, as you get deeper into the characters and the story, I don't think that would be a problem.

I am glad that I received a review copy from the author because this book is nothing like anything I have read before. I am posting my review voluntarily.

First off, in the interest of full disclosure, I was supplied with an author copy of Hell Road - The Courier #1. Now, on with the review:

Hell Road is packed with action and thrills. Fans of the thriller genre will enjoy the shootouts, car chases, and sense of danger that permeate the story. The characters are interesting and flamboyant. Think Ian Fleming writing a Bond story set in Nigeria. The exotic setting is a big plus for the story, adding spice and cultural conflict. The character dialogue is sharp and crisp, which is important for me as a reader.

What was not a big plus was the author’s descriptive passages. When describing character actions, the author tends to fall prey to the adverb dilemma—the dreaded -ly!—splitting infinitives as if they were firewood. There were numerous fights into hyperbolic description that subtracted from the flow of the story, rather than adding to it.

In summation, a solid, well-paced thriller with a good plot and good characters. This novel should hold the interest of thriller fans. A judicious pruning of some of the language would make the novel even stronger.

I did not finish this book. I could not get into the characters or the plot. Everything felt very disjointed and just not for me at all which was sad because I thought the premise was good and other reviews made it out to be a great book. Maybe it's just not right for me right now. Others enjoyed it so if you're thinking about it, definitely try it - you may enjoy it. I, however, am moving on.

A good, exciting story which for the most part is pacily and well told ( the dialogue is especially good). It was marred for me by some over-flowery flights of language e.g. "At the voice of thunder Seba got a call. His Sky Pavilion apartment, suavely perched within the core of West London, quaked in awe on arrival of celestial waters rattling its shores." A pity, because there is much else to like here.

To think I got drawn to this for the title and cover alone. And am I glad I did or what?

Check the premise:

The courier gets called to make a delivery in Nigeria. Should be business as usual, right? Make the drop and move on. But he has no idea what he's walking into.

From the get-go, assassins are put on his trail to ensure he never makes it out of Lagos alive. Because the courier's death would keep some foul ambitions alive.

Now get ready. The rollercoaster takes off between fierce shootings in hotels to a brutal road chase mired in blood and fire. Somehow, the courier escapes. He finds his way to Cuba. And just when he thinks he's escaped, the dreaded assassin appears again...in Cuba...and Hell Road continues with its never-ending thrill.

This is such a great debut. The writing and descriptions were just amazing. If you enjoy thrillers, you really have to read this book.

Have you ever wanted to read a fast paced thriller set in Nigeria? Then this is just the book for you.
From blood curling shoot outs at Eko hotel and oriental hotel to heart stopping car chases on Lekki- Epe, this book is sure to keep you at the edge of your seat.

I'll admit that I was a bit skeptical at first because I don't really read books in this genre. But when it took off, it was quite the experience!

Hell Road is the first book in Tom Lash Kilo's The Courier series. This book's blurb was absolutely engaging and promised a thrill ride story, but it doesn't quite reach my expectations, unfortunately.
The author introduces you to the main character, Seba (short for Sebastian) right from the beginning. He has no idea that he's being set up to be double-crossed, but that's the plan. He's to do his job, deliver a package, but he's not meant to leave the location alive. What unfolds throughout the book promises to be a thrill ride of a cat and mouse "game" between Seba, individuals he knows, and a man in the shadows as well.
When I started reading this book I was eager to dive deeper. Unfortunately, right from the beginning, I was thrown back by the amount of detail and overly worded sentences. It was just too much. I thought that I would be able to push through it and adjust, or even that the word trappings would be toned down, but that's just not the case. The over-word usage only continues to dominate the book. For me, it takes away from the storyline. I thought, and you might think differently, that quite a bit of the word used just doesn't fit with this type of novel. This is a political thriller mixed with secret ops so to speak. I was expecting words that were more mundane and not something that
Add into this, for me, the characters quickly become unlikeable. There was just no connection to them. Seba is supposed to be "in love" with this woman, but yet he has no problems hopping into bed with whoever? Then the woman in question hasn't seen or spoken to him in almost a year? I'm sorry, but on no level does that equate to "this is the one."
I will admit that there were moments in this book when I was engaged in the storyline. There are thrills and plenty of danger that the main character manages to just escape, but unfortunately, he's the character that I like the least. He has no problems putting other people in danger, and that's just a flaw I can't look past.
Normally, I'm an avid reader of thriller novels that are packed with twists and turns, but this book falls short for me. I struggled to get through due to the overflow of wordage throughout. Cut back on a lot of it and this book will become more palatable. This book doesn't need all the descriptive terms packed into it, it makes it feel like the author is going for a specific word/page count and less about the story itself.
With a bit of work, and some serious editing this book has a lot of potentials, but for me, it's not a series that I will be interested in continuing.
I'm choosing to rate this book 3 out of 5 stars. I wanted to like this book, but it just doesn't come together for me. The storyline has a lot of good points, but some things need to be rethought, edited down, and reimagined.

Title: Hell Road The Courier
Author: Tom Lash Kilo
Publisher: Harmony Publisher
Genre: Thriller
Pages: 312
Rating: 3/5

Synopsis:
Seba, a courier has been given the assignment from his English boss Max to deliver a Pax to Lagos in Nigeria. Seba is pleased with the assignment, it means he has the opportunity to visit his girlfriend Linda. However, Seba’s mission goes south when he is targeted by numerous assassins. Various gangs want to get their hands on what Seba is delivering, as it is a deadly weapon and an international chase begins, full of shoot outs and assassination attempts. Loyalty is soon questioned and deceit and deception is around every corner.

Review:
I would firstly like to thank the author for giving me the opportunity to read and review. The title definitely caught my attention and had me wanting to find out more about this book. I honestly didn’t know what to expect with this read, but I love a good thriller and I was eager to find out.
From the beginning, it was evident the author is a very descriptive writer, he was able to create imagery in my head. I also found the author’s writing style to be rather unique, if I could sum it up, I would say mature. Now at first this did have me confused at times, but I was able to adapt as I read on.

I liked that the story seemed to kick off straight away, you are literally thrown into the action, the action that starts from the get go and doesn’t relent! I liked that the chapter’s weren’t overly long, they were able to keep me engaged, if they were to be any longer I do think I’d have gotten lost at times.

I was quite confused at times as to who was who and who would be classed as the good and bad guy, I don’t think this is any fault of the author’s however, I think this was just me and my brain trying to process what I was reading.

This book is very detailed, it is evident the author thought carefully about everything he was writing. I’d actually say it did have a James Bond kind of feel to it, which is why I think I may have struggled with the books at times as James Bond action isn’t my usual go to. But if you like those films and books, then this is definitely a read for you!
I liked that it was fast paced and full of deception and deceit, it kept me on my toes as I was unsure as to who could be trusted. From this book, it is evident the author is a talented writer.

'Hell Road: The Courier' is a political thriller that thrusts the reader into a world of espionage, betrayal, and international danger. The story follows Seba, a courier tasked with delivering an important package, only to find himself at the center of a deadly conspiracy involving corrupt politicians, assassins, and secret organizations. The stakes are high, the settings vividly drawn, and the action rarely lets up.

The novel wastes no time getting into the thick of things, and its momentum is one of its strongest assets. Short, punchy chapters and constant twists keep the tension high. The plot is layered, involving competing factions, secret agendas, and morally ambiguous decisions. Seba is a capable and compelling lead, navigating a world where almost no one can be trusted. While some of his choices feel questionable or emotionally underdeveloped, his resourcefulness and determination drive the narrative forward.

The writing is richly descriptive, often aiming to create atmosphere and mood. At times, however, this leans into excess. Elaborate language occasionally slows the pace, and certain sentences prioritize style over clarity. A more concise approach would improve the flow and sharpen the focus on the unfolding danger and intrigue. Minor copyediting and typographical corrections would also enhance the overall polish and clarity of the text. Despite these issues, the narrative voice remains distinctive and confident.

While there is room for refinement - particularly in streamlining the prose, deepening emotional arcs, and tightening the presentation - 'Hell Road' remains a compelling and engaging thriller with strong potential for future installments in the series.

Ok i found it fast paced and the characters interesting especailly seba a very interesting courier , it wasnt my type of genre usually but i found he kept me in the loop at all times and i was pulled in when i thought it could not get more tense and exciting , the thrill of the chase , and the shooting i loved , i was sad in places after some deaths in the story , but i found the characters well thought out and the storyline was very detailed and seba definetly was my favorite character , i liked the fake reported . I loved how the author descibed the chasing through out the book and how far Kamal and Rahman would go to get there score . The chapters were not to long and they were well written .
a great read .
yer , characters came to life as you read this book , and you just cant help but keep reading , i had to re read a few parts becuase i was unsure of a few things as i got lost on some pages , but thats my fault not the authors .

may consider other books in this genre from now on

Exotic locations. Intriguing characters. Deception. Danger. Espionage and counter-espionage. Political extremism and corruption. Gun fights. Car chases. Secret meetings. And love.

Hell Road: The Courier has all these ingredients for an exciting thriller...and more.

The plot is interesting, with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader involved. The characters are diverse and fully-developed. I enjoyed the descriptions of the settings in Nigeria and Cuba.

At first, I found the florid prose to be somewhat distracting, but I quickly adjusted and eventually found it compelling.

I enjoyed this book that took me into an exciting world of intrigue, with a main plot that is both astounding yet believable in these times. Get ready for a thrill ride with the courier as you go barreling towards Hell Road.

Seba, short for Sebastian is from London and is traveling to Lagos, Nigeria to make a delivery. He is there to deliver a weapon called PDA or Portable Data Sequencer, a forerunner of the device known as the Digitalizer. Together the two devices could be used to make a bomb. Nefarious men are also after the weapon and they plan to stop the exchange and take the package for themselves.

Car chases, assassins, politics, and a huge underground conspiracy fills this thrill with adrenaline-rushing scenes. Action-packed and highly addictive writing will leave readers on the edge of their seats. Tom Lash Kilo’s writing is fast-paced and riveting, making this a definite page-turner. If political intrigue and thrillers are your cup of tea, then this book is definitely for you!

I received a review copy from the author.

This story was intriguing and fast paced (in a good way). The author's way of writing is engaging. There is definite potential for future sequels.

I highly recommend this book (I devoured it in a couple days). My only complaint is that there was a few times when the author spent too much time describing surroundings, which took me out of the story a little bit. It was not enough to cause me to put the book down, though.

This is a new author to me and I thought his book was great. It's an intense and action-packed story that reads like a script to a James Bond movie!! Reading it, you get to travel to different parts of the world, through the eyes of the main character, Sebastian (Seba), which is always fun, especially when you've never travelled the world. If you enjoy reading about assassination attempts, advanced technology and political thrillers, this is the book for you!!

The book's content, which deals with the criminal underbelly lurking in Nigerian society and corrupt officials hiring them, is well-written. As a reader, the descriptions take you into the sights and sounds that the characters go through, all the way to their dangerous moments and their fears.

I quite enjoyed this book for being so descriptive and creative, and the author has also done his research in the very settings his characters have been through. Well done!

3/5

The story is really interesting and action packed and the characters are enjoyable, but some of their storylines seemed a bit unrealistic (like having a fiancé you haven’t seen or talked to in over a year). The only problem I really had with this story is the excessive exaggerated use of descriptives. This distracted from my reading rather than enhancing it and made the story a little bit harder to get through.

From the first few pages of the book, you are submerged in suspense! You will definitely need to pay close attention. Just when you think things have slowed down, you are wrong. There are parts of the book that are extremely fast pace. You will need to pay attention to all characters, especially the senator. You will find romance, secrets, betrayal, and much much more! The one thing that will stand out in this book is, the betrayal is on many levels.

Hell Road is a crime thriller that is centred on Seba, a smuggler or The Transporter (from the film), who has 10 years of experience in smuggling. But this time, it is not as smooth as before. He smuggles the Pax to Nigeria from London for his handler Max. But in Nigeria, death is awaiting him. He drives to save himself. His girlfriend, a journalist, is there for her work.

The author has also explained Nigerian politics, culture, and religious backgrounds through the characters. I never knew that Nigeria has so many Muslims.

The story begins with three plots that start in parallel and the suspense is at the fullest. Also, thrilling acts of sex are there to add spice to the story. The chapters are short and keep the reader's interest intact. In my first sitting, I finished 12 chapters.

Hope to finish it soon.

One of the worst books I have ever read. The grammar reads like a thesaurus. The story was hard to get into in any depth. Mr. Lash himself asked me not to give a review as we had emailed on several occasions.

I tried to make my review private to Mr. Lash but he was quite rude.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

This is a wonderful story. I was drawn into the story from beginning to end. Lots of action and it has a happy ending. I was given a copy by the author and this is my voluntary review.

An intense read and a page turner I could almost see the characters for myself 😀. Tom lash gave us Nigerian political moves a fine blend of mixed ethnicity and of course I learned new words😜
