On a grizzly windswept afternoon, three men duck hunted a jagged point off Lake Superior. One man had a secret, some scars, and a score to settle. The second man had a lover at home, and revenge on his mind. The last man was dearly hated, but a leader in the business world. Only two men made it to shore. Find out what happened, and what went horribly wrong.
Insight into the Insurance Business: A fictional biography. That is my new title for this book. As I understand it, this is the author's first attempt at fictional writing, and I learned way more than I wanted to about running an insurance agency. This makes up a good portion of the book, despite the fact that some of it is a necessary evil. The beginning chapter of the book starts off with duck hunting with a hated boss. Not being a fan of hunting myself, it just made the whole chapter uncomfortable combined with the actions of "Scott" the self-indulging boss. I kept reading nonetheless, waiting for the story to evolve past the descriptions of policy-writing and setting up your own insurance office, and how those self-employed sales people are treated by the corporation. The second half of the book that gets past the parts where the main character is describing his business, there is some interesting romance and revenge areas. My recommendations for those who want to support Michigan authors is to skip this book and move on to "The Secret-Keeper".
