Hers #4

Hers, Times Two

Rate this book
Two fierce males. One tough woman.

But are they strong enough to confess their love?

Space pilot Eliza Arroyo Diaz has a mad crush on two of her crew mates, but judging by their reserved behavior, the feeling is not mutual. She doesn’t dare confess that she fantasizes about a three-way relationship with them. And even if the guys were somehow open to the idea, Liz has secrets that could cause her dismissal from the crew if they were found out.

Zaster and Jackal are obsessed with Liz, but they can’t bring themselves to tell her about it. What human woman would welcome the idea of a Crasnian alien and a human-alien hybrid wanting to share her, body and soul?

But as Liz seems to spend a lot of time with Rogue, the ship’s medic, Zaster and Jackal struggle to keep their distance. Can they find a connection with their chosen mate, or will the ghosts of the past ruin their chance for a happy end?

Note to This is a steamy science fiction romance featuring action, suspense, and intense love scenes between the three main characters. It’s the fourth book in a series but can be read as a standalone. HEA guaranteed! If you enjoy hot romance involving not one but two beefy aliens, this might be the book for you!

My name is Anna, I'm an erotic romance author, and my goal in life is never to have another writer's block. I've been in love with action and futuristic stuff from an early age, whether it's in books, movies, or video games. More recently, I also developed a taste for steamy romances. The stories in my head contain these elements in different combinations and I look forward to putting them all on (virtual) paper - for my own amusement, if nothing else. I live in Germany with my husband, my overactive imagination, and pipe dreams of fortune and glory.

I'm not a big erotica reader, and not a big sci-fi reader these days either.
My problem with the erotica genre is that there's no story, and I need more than just relationships and sex to keep me interested in a book. Thankfully, Anna's books are more than just the sex - not saying that her sex-scenes aren't hot, for they are! - but she also builds in characters and an interesting world and a story.

That said, this book wasn't quite for me.
It's well written and has all the usual Adler-staples, and I loved what Liz was going through and the representation it detailed! As well as the polyam rep!
But there was something that kept putting me off. I felt that the boys were a little too much in their adoration at times, there was some drama that I felt the book didn't need, and the whole Binding thing just raised my hackles, and not in a good way.

There was also a lack of story/conclusion. Other than the character ARCs, there isn't much else of a drive, even if we get hints at things. Maybe Anna plans to write a sequel where some of these things are more important? That'd make up for it for me, at least.

I feel really badly about giving this a 2-star rating, but with the rating-system that is on GR now, where 2 stars means ''it was OK'', that feels most right. But keep in mind THIS IS NOT A BAD BOOK! It just wasn't quite for me.

Disclaimer: I consider Anna a friend of mine, but I'll do my best to not let that impact my review.

HERS, TIMES TWO is the fourth book in this series, and although you could read it as a standalone, the question would be WHY? There are three brilliant books before this one that help set up the scene/worlds so why limit yourself to just one?

Anyway, moving back to this one - Liz/Eliza has lusted after Jackal and Zaster for a long time but, due to their complicated pasts, she doesn't feel like they want anything to do with her. Not only that, but she had a drug addiction she is fighting. Zaster and Jackal are closer than brothers but behave oppositely where Liz is concerned.

First of all - I LOVED that this was set with Jax and Alyssa on their ship, rather than on Selenia. Don't get me wrong, I love Selenia and I love seeing how it is changing, but this felt like a tip of the old hat to Jax and Alyssa. Plus, it's always good to see previous characters again.

There is a lot of miscommunication in this book, which makes for an excellent read as they fumble through and try to make things right. Poor Liz has a lot to deal with. Can I just say - where she has to do the injection? Gah!!! That made me do the heebie-jeebie dance every single time.

There is snark and sass, memory loss, action and adventure, plus steamy moments aplenty, for everyone to enjoy. This was a brilliant addition to the series and I enjoyed every word. I absolutely recommend this book, this series, and I can't wait to see if we return to Selenia to see if Young and Cocky find someone!

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarain, I was gifted my copy of this book.

Eliza has lusted after Jackal and Zaster for some time. And they, her. But it takes nearly losing Liz for her and them to see that they could be happy together, the three of them.

Book 4 in the Hers series, and I would personally recommend you read the other books first. Book one, especially, since Alyssa and Jax play a huge part here! Chase and Holly, book 2, are mentioned but I don't think that the couple from book 3, Roth and Kaitlyn are even mentioned. Doesn't matter though. You don't NEED their stories for this one to make sense, but it might give you a better picture of what Alyssa and Jax are trying to do for Silenia.

Certainly the steamiest of the four books! But also, the darkest I think. Even from book one, where Alyssa owns Jax, this book does take a darker turn.

Liz is suffering from a drug addiction, and she is keeping it from everyone, save the medic on board. The blackouts are the biggest side effect, and could cost them all their lives, if she's flying and blacks out. But when she needs to, Liz steps up, and gets shot. Zaster, bless him, takes it the hardest. But after a conversation with Jackal and then Liz, they actually want to make things work.

And work they do! OOOOOOEEEEE! Yes ma'am. Once they admit to each other what they all want, they are all in and straight away. Liz does not waste any time getting down and dirty with her men!

I read a wide variety of books, across lots of different genres. I don't just read M/F books either. And for me, if the GUYS had had some sort of sexual contact too, this would have taken it over to the full 5 stars. That would have just been the icing on a very hot cake!

I'm sorry, Ms Adler, to keep asking for more, but write such good stories and I want to read them!

4.5 stars, rounded UP for the blog.

I read this book awhile ago and forgot to write a review, so I'll do my best to remember the main bits. I love Anna Adler's writing style and her ideas. Hers Untamed was the book that pulled me in and ever since I couldn't wait for more of her work, so I was really excited for this, and it was worth the read. Spoilers ahead.

What I loved about this was how well the blackout scenes were written. One moment something is happening and the next something different is happening with no transition or context, and I LOVE it! It really makes me as the reader feel as confused and lost as Liz, and makes me feel her frustration for feeling like something is missing or not adding up. Really well done on that.

The plot was intriguing too. I love that she's the pilot because it's not something I read about much, and I also enjoyed seeing snippets about her backstory and how she came to have those blackouts and why. I also really enjoyed the friendship between Jackal and Zaster! They felt more like good brothers than friends, which was adorable at times. And the sex scenes! Now this book is definitely what people call "spicy". I feel like each scene was better than the one before, especially when the trio got together. You can definitely see that they're better as three than when one of the guys is missing.

There are elements there from the previous books, but I don't think you'll miss much if you read this book alone.

Strong female lead...check.
Two, hot, sexy male aliens....check.
Recipe for hot alien sex and action.....Oh hell yeah!!

Hers, times two is book four in what looks to be a cracking series! I've read it as a standalone as I've not read the first three books.... considering I'm wanting to know what happens next I'll be heading off to get the others pretty sharpish.

Liz is cool, confident and feisty, but, like the rest of us, she's fighting her own demons. Demons which put her and her crew in the path of danger. Not her fault but she really takes it to heart.
I really like her, she's a dedicated friend and is an awesome pilot. She does annoy me a little as she tries to take too much responsibility for things she had no control over and beats herself up for it.....

Jackal and Zaster......the hot, sexy aliens.....and typical idiots that take forever to pluck up the courage to approach the woman of their dreams. I'll let them off though as they more than make up for it and the more we get to know and understand them it's easy to see why they're who they are.

I was entertained from start to finish and I even cried a few times, I'm such a softie haha

Space pilot Eliza Arroyo Diaz is interested in two of her crew mates, but they don’t seem interested in her. That may be for the best since a relationship being discovered could get her in deep trouble. Zaster was a Crasnian, tall with red eyes. He was quiet but intelligent, level-headed but intimidating. Jax, their Captain, had appointed him second-in-command. Jackal was a hybrid with human and Wolfman blood, and while he seemed human, there was something attractively feral about his appearance. He also had a tail.

What Liz doesn’t know is that Zaster and Jackal are both obsessed with her but don’t think she would want to share herself with them. She is their chosen mate. Will they find the courage to speak up and tell her? Or will they remain silent and do nothing about it?

Fun and fast paced space adventure with 2 make love interests. I really enjoyed Jackel’s character, but need a little more convincing with Zaster, he is so broody, quiet and intense in odd ways. Liz had an interesting backstory and secret.

Another winner from Anna Adler

Ms. Adler took on a new challenge with "Hers, Times Two." Making a 3-way relationship work is quite tricky. She nailed it. Of course, 'the course of true love ne'er did run smooth', so there was plenty of angst and drama along the way. Throw in some action and we get the whole package. I enjoyed it. Well done, Ms. Adler.

Freedom in Three

With ample amounts of action and steamy times, I just loved this book! Liz gets two dreamy-hot guys (Zaster and Jackal) and saves the world - what’s not to like? This book has me hooked - I’m going to go back and read the rest of the series.
