There is something about him. Something that makes me stare and wonder.
Something that makes me imagine all sorts of delicious, forbidden things. Something that makes me want to give him what I have never given another man before. My virginity. Extreme. But then, so am I. I am not your typical virgin.
And William Sinclair is not your typical man.
Conquer is book one in the next addition to the Mad Love series. Conquered, book two, will be releasing in December 2021.
Colet Abedi is an Iranian-American, best-selling author, television and film producer. She was born in Virginia and currently lives in Los Angeles. When she's not writing she's either off on an adventure in a far-off land or planning her next getaway. She writes contemporary romance and young adult.
Conquer by Colet Abedi is for every reader who worships a dangerous alpha hero. This story was high on steam and suspense with some complicated characters and more complicated feels.
William Sinclair is back from dead. He belongs to one of the most aristocratic, rich and powerful family of England. But eleven years back he was taken and thrown into hell where he had to fight for his survival. But he broke free and has started taking down every player who made him and many of his friends suffer. On his way back to his family and to public eyes, he meets Vivianne Monroe. A beautiful writer who gets under his skin instantly. Vivianne feels that William is dangerous but she cannot stay away. This ends in a cliffhanger where the enemies has put their first step.
William "Sin" Sinclair has been changed by the brutality, the violence, the trauma and every single part of his experience. He has a dark presence. He is broken but reuniting with his brothers and family is slowly healing him. He has no business getting involved with Vivianne but their chemistry is undeniable. Vivianne had an abusive part herself but she has been saved by her uncle and aunt who gave her a protected and cherished life. She is still very sweet and can hide her pain very well. She is obsessed with this enigmatic man. William is an alpha through and through. Arrogance. Confidence. Possessiveness. Sex appeal. The full package. For me the story was a bit slow as I spent a lot of time with Vivianne describing repeatedly how great William is. The insta lust didn't click for me. For someone like William who spent years in captivity doing questionable things and eliminating dangerous people, it was a bit far fetched to change all his plans for Vivianne.
If you love reading romantic suspense with sizzling hot chemistry, Conquer by Colet Abedi is worth a try.
Oh my lord William Sinclair, have mercy on my soul! He is what dark dangerous alpha hero’s are made of! I love him so very much! Then flip side of the coin the book lover Vivianne, who has such a dark past and is drawn to him like a moth to a flame in a airport lounge of all places. Let me just say that both of their inner monologues are fabulous. The amount of times that Viv’s inner monologues had me cracking up was numerous. I love how we see that William completely has to know everything about her within minutes of meeting her! I love how we slowly get to learn about the time in the coliseum as we go. But more importantly I love that the more time he spends with his brother Clayton’s family and with Viv he is starting to find himself emotions again which is a beautiful thing! I also love that she isn’t afraid of him in any way shape or form, even though she should be. That is key for them, he needs someone who will go toe to toe with him and not be afraid. She becomes this confident feisty person. They are so good together. Oh lord can we just take a second to talk about the sexual tension between Max and Delilah….wow something is brewing there for sure. Next the cuteness that is William’s niece that has him wrapped around his finger after days of meeting him, melt your heart. And Morocco, a place that I love so very much, you brought it to life. They finally get one on one time together and we see a completely different side of William, they bond on a deeper level. Then that cliffhanger….I can not wait to see how you resolve this and give them their happy ending!! I so recommend this book!!
Conquer by Colet Abedi was quite the pleasant surprise as I've never read this author before and I'm pretty impressed and intrigued after reading Sin and Viv's first book.
William Sinclair has quite the harrowing past which he's trying and struggling to heal from. As does Vivianne in some respects. But the intrigue and attraction was instantaneous when they first met and Sin will do just about anything to have her. He's met his match in Viv and he knows it.
I really admired this author for taking on all these different tropes and characteristics and blending them together so well in a way that works and isn't dramatic. Her scene setting and ideas were unique and refreshing too which I loved. I'm definitely excited to read more from Abedi and hopefully, soon. I'm desperate for the rest of William and Vivianne's story!
Conquer by Colet Abedi is Book 4 in the Mad Love Series. This starts the story of William Sinclair 'Sin' and Vivianne Monroe 'Viv'. Viv had a something that happened to her when she was younger that shouldn't happen to anyone. But thanks to her Aunt/Uncle they helped her now she is a sweet young women although she still has a shadow of the past. Sin was taken several years ago and thought to have been dead but he has returned after fighting his way back. Sin is out to get back into his family, get revenge on those that made them suffer but then he has a chance meeting with Viv. Sin finds something in her that just sends him into a tail spin. This book does end with a cliffhanger setting us up for the next installment.
This book was a perfect blend of tragedy, mystery, chemistry, darkness, revenge, loss, heartache and healing. It is intense and yet parts were lighthearted.
“I know I should stay away from you. It’s probably the best and safest thing for you, for both of us, but I can’t seem to help myself. I can’t stay away. So here I am.”
There is an unexpected attraction. He is controlling, a sinner who is seeking revenge. He wears his dark soul on his sleeve…yet he isn’t fooling others.
“Without a doubt, he is a storm, the violent, beautiful kind that keeps you entranced for as long as it goes on.”
She is still recovering from her past. She is watching others live while she yearns for the same things. Can the dark soul she is attracted to bring her into the light? Can they heal each other?
“I’ve seen the breathtaking aftermath of a storm or two in my life.”
Whoa. This book and author was a whole lot of unexpected in a whole lot of ways. Y'all, I'm all kinds of ready for the next in this series because oh yeah, this book ends on a cliffhanger that makes you need more right. now.
Conquer was nearly everything it needed to be... suspenseful, steamy, intense, dangerous, and packed with all kinds of different feels. I don't want to spoil this book even in this slightest (I went in blind to this beauty, so should you) but gahhhhh.
William and Vivianne will take you on a journey that you won't forget or. expect, and their story isn't over. The next is due out soon in the Mad Love series and I can't wait for more.
I was very fortunate to have received a arc copy of conquer book 4 in the mad love series . This was my first book by Colet Abedi , so I was not sure what to expect . I went in with a open mind and loved every single minute of this amazing story. From the moment I met William Sinclair ( sin ) and Vivianne Monroe ( Viv ) I know there was no way I was not going so become 100% invested in both their characters as well as the story . I was so intrigued by them . What a beautiful and emotional story . These two have not had easy lives by any means . Viv had something terribly happen to her when she was younger , something that should never happen to anyone .. thanks to the love and support from her aunt and uncle she was able to move past it ( but the past can always haunt you when you least expect it . Sin was taken several years ago and thought to have been dead . But he is back , fighting his way back to his family and loved ones . Determined to get revenge on the people that hurt him . Sins chance meeting with Viv changes everything , makes him question his decisions. There is such a strong connection between these two , and so much chemistry that neither expected . I absolutely adored every minute of this awesome book . I literally devoured it in a little over 4 hours . It does end in a cliffhanger which leaves you wondering what will happen next . I cannot wait to find out
I dropped into the series with this book and even though I was able to follow along I kind of wish I had read the previous books to have a better grasp of this universe This book sets up the characters' pasts giving us a bit of insight into the events that made them who they are today Like why she is a 26yr old virgin Why he is a man bent on retribution and vengeance How their meeting may not have been so innocent
William and Vivianne form a connection from the moment their eyes meet - quite literally He desires her and doesn't hide it and she answers that call with the same hunger I admit she gave almost as good as he dished out
This first book is more focused on their chemistry and building a bond between them (the popping isn't until much later) Which the author does a fabulous job of The way he desires her is almost tangible
As things slowly clicked into place I was bouncing back and forth between possible betrayals, their on-page chemistry, and the placement of puzzle pieces The story is packed with suspense, twists, and betrayals This does end on a cliffy that will leave you screaming at a certain someone(s)
My first outing by this author and this series, so I don't know much of the background, other than what you will already know from the synopsis. Conquer means 'To overcome and take control of'. And this certainly sums up William beautiful, he is out for revenge and will stop at nothing to get it, but there is about to be a slight bump in the road when he meets beautiful writer Vivianne, there is an instant attraction and chemistry between the pair and there is no denying that when the pair come together it is explosive. But Williams enemies are lurking and are about to strike. This does end on a cliffhanger and I need this couples next instalment story because there is just something with it that is just out of my reach that I have a feeling the next book will give me.

Holy crap this book is crazy good.... I would totally recommend this book to anyone.... The alpha in William is crazy hot... You will definitely want him... I need so much to read the next book in this series..
I have not read the other books in the series, but after reading about William Sinclair; I want to know about his brothers too!
William and Vivianne have such fantastic chemistry in this story. What started as a glance and a stare in an airport lounge led to so much more.
Vivianne is curious about William; she has never felt this electricity with anyone else. Even when he tries to warn her away, she insists she is not afraid.
William is back from 'the dead' so his family and friends. He is returning to London for the first time in over 11 years when he was forced away from his family under scary circumstances. He is focused on what he needs to do now until he crosses eyes with a woman across the airport lounge...Vivianne. Something about this woman has him seeing a light when all he has known for the last few years is darkness.
I loved the dual point of view in which this story is written. We also get insight into their inner thoughts, which make this story even more appealing!
Since it ends on a cliff, I can't wait to read more about these two!!
Reasons I enjoyed this book: Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Page-turner, Steamy, Tragic, Twisted, Wonderful characters
This is Book 1 in the new addition to the Mad Love Series and my first read by this author, and I must say that I quite enjoyed the storyline and characters. It is a suspenseful romance between William and Vivianne. These flawed souls and the unique plot make for an intriguing read. It is an instalove story filled with drama and passion, danger and suspense, betrayal and vengeance, twists and turns, plus engaging secondary characters to keep the reader interested. The main characters share an undeniable chemistry and connection. An emotional journey with a cliffhanger ending. A good series beginning.
I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Besties I finished an ARC of Conquer by Colet Abedi
There is something about him, sometimes I just think of all the forbidden things I want to do with him. He makes me want to give him my V card which I never have thought about giving anyone else.
I know what you might be thinking isn't that a little extreme and crazy! Well I am a little extreme.
***Copy was given in exchange for an honest review***
I loved William and Vivianne's instant pull to one another. After the physical and mental scars both have endured their souls are made for each other. I loved Williams relentless sure pursuit of Viv. Not that she puts up much of a fight, even when she finds out that until recently he has been listed as dead to the world. But then again she feels herself drawn to him whenever he is near. There is way more to this story but I don't want to give anything away except expect some mystery and a cliff hanger but other then that a great read. I can't wait for the rest to unfold in the next book.
I accidentally signed up to read this book. I was intrigued by story so I figured I would read it. If you like dark, angsty, steamy books then this is for you. William and Vivienne have an attraction like no other, both knowing they have secrets and pasts that could destroy everything. What I was not ready for was the cliffhanger………
This was my first read from this author and I really enjoyed it. I haven’t read Clayton and Sophie’s books yet so that is my next step while waiting for William and Vi’s next book.
Alpha hero and a cute heroine.... a fantastic combination! William is dark, mysterious, sexy as hell. Vivianne is cute, sexy and kind of naïve. It's a match made in hell :)
I really can't wait to read the next book. It's not nice to leave me hanging ;)
Conquer is such an appropriate name for this book as William and Vivianne have both had to conquer abuse, abduction and so many more horrifying things before getting to where they are today. Reading of the atrocities William had to endure makes you want to be sick but you also admire him for getting out and even though he is seeking revenge against those who hurt him you still admire him for what he has had to experience and escape from. Vivienne although very unlucky in the first 12 years of her life was able to escape thanks to a very loving aunt and uncle who showed her what true parents and love are like. William and Viv are drawn together and their chemistry literally sizzles off the pages. This book starts of as sort of a slow burn with some angst involved then turns into some yummy steamy times that will have you fanning yourself and so much more that I don't want to give away. Conquer does end in a cliffhanger that really catches you by surprise but don't be deterred, this book is worth the read and now I can't wait till the next book releases to find out what happens next.
Rating: 3.5/5 stars (I wish I could do half-star ratings, but I don’t make the rules.)
I went into Colet Abedi’s “Conquer” blind. I’ve never read any of her work before and all I knew of the plot was that the FMC (Vivianne Monroe) was a virgin and she was fixated on losing her virginity to one particular guy. That’s it. That’s all I knew. And I didn’t mind that, because sometimes going in blind is the best kind of surprise.
I’d say I was satisfied with the blind investment. It was a pleasant surprise of a book, the kind of book you think is going to go one direction but takes you someplace else but you don’t mind at all.
I’ll say one think for Ms. Abedi: She knows how to do build-up and unresolved tension. This book has a lot of that. A lot of scenes that build up tension and steam via words, body language, and setting that bring both the characters and readers up to the edge… and then release the pressure valve before the whistle can blow. She does this again and again until the reader is almost as frustrated as poor Vivianne is.
As for our leads, William Sinclair and Vivianne Monroe? They’re great characters. Are they relatable? In my opinion, no. I don’t necessarily even find them close to realistic. But I find them likeable and distinctive, which is more than I can say for a lot of romance books I’ve read lately. They have personalities that have more than one facet. They have pasts, presents, and many possible futures. That makes for interesting characters and adds dimension to the plot, which was already interesting.
Now, I wasn’t aware this is the first book in a series, so I feel the need to warn you this DOES end on a cliffhanger. And it’s a doozy.
I’ll be looking out for the second book in this series when it comes out, because I feel like I need to know what happens next. But that’s not because of the cliffhanger at the end. I’d just already decided that before the book ended. Because there’s more of a story to be told here, and I’d like to see where Ms. Abedi takes us next.
William Sinclair's brothers Clayton & Michael and his parents think he is dead. That he died in a car accident eleven years ago. Now he is ready to exact his revenge and return to his family.
He will ruin and kill those who kept him prisoner and were responsible for the death of his friends who were forced to kill their comrades. They had destroyed the coliseum and would now kill those who built it.
Vivianne Monroe was sitting in the executive lounge at the Dublin International Airport watching Mr. Hot & Gorgeous. Thick dirty blonde hair and eyes that pierce right through her have her wanting to give him what she hasn't given any man in 26 years - her virginity. She leaves the lounge to remove herself from his magnetism only to find out he has the seat next to her on the flight to London.
This book is intense! Both William and Vivianne have deep scars from their past and though he knows that Vivianne will be a distraction and may be put in danger he can't keep away.
This book is action-packed and full of sexual chemistry. The book is very well written and the plot kept me turning the pages. The characters are fully developed and very relatable. William has been through h3ll and now is out to make those responsible pay with their life. You can feel William's masculinity and dangerous power coming through the pages. His story will bring you to tears.
Vivianne and her sister have their own scars, but she fully embraced the future her aunt and uncle gave them when they were rescued from a childhood no one could imagine. Vivianne gives William the hope he thought had been taken away from him.
This book ends on a cliffhanger, but I highly recommend this book! From the first page you are pulled into intense attraction between William and Vivianne and sadness and rage at what they have had to endure. This is the first book I've read by Colet Abedi, but won't be the last. Can't wait to start from the beginning of this series about William's brothers Chase and Michael.
I was intrigued by the blurb and by the idea of William Sinclair. And he did not disappoint. He was danger and sin rolled into one delicious package. But he experienced great hardship and cruelty. He had been changed by his experiences and was no longer the carefree man he once was. His family, both through blood and through bond, were great. Clayton may not have been by William's side but he wanted to do anything and everything to help him with his burden and vengeance. While I enjoyed the story, one thing irritated me: Vivianne. There was sexual chemistry between her and William almost immediately. They could sense a darker side to each other and instinctively knew that each had experienced the crueler side of life. However I would have liked for Vivianne to have been a bit more like her sister Delilah. I felt that Viv caved in too much to William. She knew that he was dangerous and that he would ultimately hurt her (if not intentionally then by association) and yet doesn't do a thing to stop her attraction or interactions with him. At least William warned her and tried to resist but Viv hardly puts up a fight. I would have liked to have seen her push back more and not simply give in to her attraction. Yes she had limited experience with men but it was plain to see that danger was coming for her. A dark past like William's was always going to come back. Even her sister and friends could see it. Other than that, I did like the story. I'm interested to see where the plot will go in the next book.
Conquer is the 4th book in the Sinclair Brothers Series by Colet Abedi.
Fans of the Dangerous Alpha hero and Insta-Lust will be really happy with this book.
While reading Conquer I often imagined everything happening in Noir style for some reason. You have the mysterious William Sinclair returning to London from the dead and Vivianne Monroe a women with a dark past that she has left behind.
Like I mentioned this story was one of insta-lust these characters are extremely attracted to one another from the moment they lock eyes. I really enjoyed the wau the author explained the characters backgrounds to us. It wasn't too in your face and it didn't lack information. Another plus was the fact that the story was very fast paced and the novel is well aware of that fact. Both William and Vivianne are very interesting. The secret society aspect of this book was very interesting and really gave us a look at William and I'm sure it will play a bigger roll in the next book.
My only issues were with how possessive William was at some points and the pace in which the relationship developed from Insta-Lust to something more. But as far as the first issue it's a matter of preference because I'm sure a lot of readers will enjoy this take on the Alpha hero.
Overall I enjoyed the book and with an ending like that I can't wait to find out what happens next.

Conquer, by Colet Abedi is one of those books which will have you thinking about it day and night. William Sinclair… oh my… what an alpha! He could tell at a glance at Vivianne Monroe that she would be his. And she was not able to deny the pull between them. Electrifying!
William, who carries a dark and scarred soul, opens up as the story goes and I loved each time I got to know a little more about him and each time he would let himself be taken over by the feelings that were assaulting his heart. His relationship with family is also a highlight for me. I love how it heals him.
As for Vivianne, I really enjoyed how she was feisty and didn’t fear this man, even though there were enough elements for her to be afraid of him. She’s had a dark past but was saved by family and when she meets Sinclair she decides (or fate decides for her) that he’s the one. She becomes enthralled by this man and wins his trust throughout the story.
These two are FREAKING HOT together and I loved seeing a different side of him the more intimate they got.
This book ends in a cliffhanger and I’m dying to see how William will be changing his plans of revenge due to his relationship with this young woman who’s is sure to change his life forever!
William Sinclair is alive, much to the surprise of everyone who has believed him to be dead for the past 11 years. He was trained to kill and earned himself the nickname Sin years back due to his brutality, and now he's back to life to get revenge on the ones who sent him to hell. Vivianne Monroe is an author coming back from a retreat in Ireland where she was unable to find the inspiration she needed to finish her book. It is on the way back home that she meets William who is not only headed to the same place as her but is her seat buddy on the plane. The chemistry between the two is undeniable and it isn't long before they see each other again.
In all honestly, while I did enjoy the romance aspect of this story, I think I would've enjoyed the overall book way more if William's revenge plot and whatnot were a more important part of the plot. That was what really had me hooked on the story, but unfortunately, it wasn't as big of a deal in this book. The good news, however, is that with the way this book ended, I think the next book may include that more in its plot. Overall though, this was fun to read and I did enjoy seeing Vivianne and William interact.
This is the fourth book in this series by this author. This is the first book by this author that I've read and I was blown away with it from the start. This is the amazing story of William and Vivianne, these two characters have an unexpected attraction to each other from the start. This story is the perfect mix of tragedy, mystery, chemistry, heartbreak and revenge, which will keep you hooked from the first chapter. This story ends in a cliffhanger ending but it sets the next book up nicely. I can't wait to read the next part of this story. I was given an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my honest review
This is the first time I am reading this author and really enjoyed the writing style of the author. It was beautiful and very descriptive. The story captivated me from the very beginning and kept me flipping through the pages and hooked until the very end. William’s family think he died in a car accident 11 years ago however he is very much alive and now ready to come back to his family and take his revenge from those who kept him prisoner. A chance encounter with Vivianne has them both feeling the instant lust and there is an chemistry between them. The story has all the elements of making it a satisfying and enjoyable read. The plot was captivating from get go . It was beautifully written and with elements of suspense and intrigue it kept me totally invested in the story. The characters were well developed. I haven’t read any other books in this series but can’t wait to read more books by this author. Definitely a must read!
