Dom
The sins of the father are the sins of the sons.
For years I’ve been trying to atone for the crimes of the monster who created me, for the monster running in my blood. I’m unworthy of love, of compassion…of understanding.
I made my peace with living this life of penance while hunting the rat poisoning the ranks of the Famiglia. At least that was true until she entered my life. India McKenna—a walking, talking contradiction built in a goddess.
When she looks at me, her emerald eyes full of tenderness seem like my shot at redemption.
I lost my soul many years ago, but this woman makes me want to retrieve it…
Will I be brave enough to reach for it?

India
I left Calgary to get away from the hurt, to heal my heart and my life. What I didn’t expect was meeting Domenico Romano, a career criminal with a heart of gold and looks that could make any woman fall to her knees. A man like I'd never met before. A man so hell-bent to keep his distance, to make me believe he is bad despite the goodness I keep seeing seeping out of him.
This man is so full of secrets, of doubt and remorse, and as I try to save him in spite of himself, I find myself falling for him…
Will I be brave enough to save us both?

We got glimpses of Dom's potential backstory in ''Broken Prince'' and now we finally get the whole story and it's dark and heavy.

His father was selling and abusing women to the point where he would force a 13-year-old Dom to sleep with the women and even lose his virginity to a woman twice his age. It's absolutely heartbreaking to see Dom think he is a monster because of the things he was FORCED to do as a child. What he went through as a child should never be something anyone goes through and it truly messed him up, he believed with his whole heart that was incapable of being good.

India is Cassie's cousin who were told about in book 1 that lived in Canada. She comes over to visit and stay with the group while Cassie is struggling during her last few weeks of pregnancy (twins). India and Dom do not have a great start as he is apprehensive towards her, and she is always trying to psychoanalyze him as she is a psychiatrist.

The issue I had with her was that she was always in her therapist mode? Trying to decipher people and ask them questions as if they were in a therapy session and it bothered me sometimes.

She ran off from Canada after years of being with her ex who was physically abusing her, and he is threatening her and trying his hardest to find her, but that subplot died down really quickly and not much came of it.

I knew that Luca had killed Dom's dad when he was 14/15 to save Dom and take him under his wing and I knew that Matteo was the reason it played out that way so those reveals were not much of a shock but what was shocking was finding out Matteo is Dom's half-brother, and they share a father which means the man Dom believed was his dad was not, which gives him a massive relief.

There was a continued side plot about this ''ghost'' who was causing havoc within the mafia and all three guys are trying to find out who it is. I have a theory on who it is, and it will be concluded in book 3.

"Dovevo riprendere fiato dopo averti visto. Mi fai questo effetto." "Quale?"

Everything I love about romance novels!

Twisted Knight is the second book in the Cosa Nostra series by R.G. Angel. It is a standalone, but best read after Broken Prince. This would definitely be considered a dark romance, but it also has over the top romance as well as laugh out loud funny moments. India, Cassie’s cousin, goes to stay with Cassie and Luca (from book 1) at the end of Cassie’s pregnancy with her twins in order to help out and provide support, but to also escape some recent hurt. Dom, Luca’s consigliere, is weary of letting anyone into his circle, but he can’t seem to keep away from India, no matter how much he fights it. He has a very dark history that makes him feel unworthy of love or compassion, but India sees his kindness and potential and is going to make sure he sees it too.

What a phenomenal love story that gives you all the feels! Twisted Knight is truly everything I love about romance novels and this story delivers with tons of twists and turns and a dash of suspense. It will have you hooked from the beginning and keep you hooked to the end. I just love R.G. Angels writing style! It’s very flowery like the old school romances, but with a raw, poignantly heartbreaking backstory. Dom is absolutely my favorite kind of hero. He’s extremely loyal to those he considers his family, very protective, kind of grumpy, but funny at the same time. Once he sees India as his chance for happiness and redemption, there is nothing he won’t do for her and there is no letting go. India is definitely a girl worth fighting for. She is an extremely empathetic person, an introvert, a girl who always plays it safe, and hates to be seen - which is hard since she’s 6 feet tall. Dom truly appreciates everything about her and once he has her, holds on with both hands. This book is a true, feel good story despite it’s darker elements, and I cannot wait for the last book in the series! The story ends in a cliffhanger for the overarching story arc whodunnit, but there is a happily ever after for the couple. I literally can’t wait for Matteo, “the king sh!t stirrers” to get his book!!

Frenemies to lovers – it was perfection!

There was a hint of India in the first book in the series and a whole lotta Dom (to love) so I barely closed the page of Cassie and Luca’s story before diving in here. And oh it was everything I wanted it to be!

Circling their family like protective mama bears, they weren’t sure about each other. Dom, especially, was acting so unlike his usual jovial self. He was the one to cajole and joke, to lighten the mood. Not here. He was growly and prickly with India, I had to convince myself itself he was the same man. But I guess that is what L-O-V-E can do to you and it made me smile… Not the hard time he gave India but how wonderfully she pushed back! He thought she was hiding something and she thought… Well, she wasn’t sure what to think of this man who acted anything like what Cassie had gushed about. But, she was here and she was going to make sure Cassie’s new family treated her right. And Dom? Well, she was going to cut him a bit of slack… A bit…

This was another great read, I was so sad it was over! You know those books that you want to speed read to the end and then sob when you realize there is no more? Luckily, there’s at least one more read – there are still series questions to answer after all – and I’m in no way ready to let these characters go. And it’s Matteo’s story! Now that man needs love in his life… ~Diane, 5 stars

Twisted Knight has everything you would expect from a mafia romance: action, romance, suspense, and violence. Once I started reading I had a hard time stopping. I just had to know what would happen next.

India is sweet, kind, and caring. She’s also a lot tougher than she gives herself credit for. I liked her immediately; she seems like the type of person I would have as a friend.

Dom is tough, protective, and fiercely loyal. He’s exactly the alpha you would expect in a mafia romance. I loved his devotion to Luca, Cassie, and eventually India.

The plot was fast moving and action packed. While I am sensitive to violence in books, I found that most of the violence in this book was sort of here-say and fade to black, which made it a bit more palatable.

This is book two in the Cosa Nostra series. I do feel it’s important to read them in order. I can’t wait for book three and hope it answers my remaining questions.

🤍 Mafia
🤍 Age gap ( 27 l 32 )
🤍 Traumatic past
🚩 no cheating or sharing, no OW/OM

To be honest I was a little disappointed because I thought it would be more dramatic and they both would really open up about their past 😶☹️

It wasn't bad but in my opinion it was way too rushed.

My highlights were the scenes with Lucas and the babies 😍🫶🥰

All in all it was an okay book but definitely not as good as the first one 🙌🙈

Soo excited to read the 3rd book 🤍

I tried, really tried to like India with Dom
But I just didn't see or feel it
This instant obssession and love was weird
Her background was unnecessary to the story
And Dom's messed up childhood needed so much more than just "restrained hands"

The three stars goes the Mafia part
I enjoyed it more than the forced romance
Looking forward to Matteo's book

I thoroughly enjoyed book one, Broken Prince, and was looking forward to reading this book as well. Dom seemed such a man of depth and I was right!

With Cassie so close to her twins birth her cousin, India, flew in to help out and what a gorgeous Amazonian woman she was too! Dom thought so as well, however, he didn’t rush into things believing himself to be a beast. Well first off, it was fabulous to be back with Luca, Cassie, Jude and Dom and… okay Matteo as well. 😆 That sociopath sort of sneaks up on you and you end up liking him more, I can’t wait until we get to read his story next as he is such an intriguing character. Secondly, India is a fantastic character, one who fit in so well and I liked immediately with her take no rubbish attitude.

As Dom and India’s rocky romance slowly progressed there are other unsolved issues that became vitally important. The mystery of who the rat was in their organisation being paramount yet not really any closer to be revealed. When the action heated up it went from a slow tempo to super charged in a split second and boy did those emotions kick in. Actually, once again you felt each emotion with the characters, no matter whether it was excitement, fear, anger or passion.

As the story unfolds so did the little twists and turns, and a couple were beauties! This Costa Nostra series is a dark, exciting, thrilling, romantic and suspense-filled one that I recommend to everyone. Bring on Cruel King, the final book!

Romance Reader - per RFS
.

This was good but not as thrilling as the first book in this series. O had fun reading it but it‘s not one of these books you keep in mind. It was a quick read and I enjoyed it. I wish there was more tension between Dom and India because their relationship felt kind of flat and not as tension filled as I hoped. I liked them as a couple but sadly the spark was missing.
All in all a solid mafia romance book.

Oh Dom, my Twisted Knight...this book did not disappoint!!!!

You learned Dom was a tormented soul in Broken Prince, but you found out why in this book and it is heartbreaking. I just want to give him a big hug. Dom is committed to Luca and Cassie and will do anything for them. So when Cassie wants to bring her cousin to stay with them, he of course can't say no. But when he sees India for the first time, he feels things that he has never felt before. He like it rough and tough, but with India, her smile turns him on. How can this one woman change him? India needs to get away so going to see her cousin is perfect. India is gorgeous, and instantly feels that attraction to Dom, but she knows that he is hiding something. When she finds out what it is, Dom will soon learn just how special she is.

I loved Dom and India's relationship. They started out kinda as enemies not really liking each other but getting along for Cassie's sake. But the more that they talk and the more that they let their walls down, they realize that there is something more between them. Dom is scared, he has never felt this way for something before, he didn't think that he ever would based on his past, but India is there for him every step of the way. She was perfect for him because she made him realize it wasn't his fault. She also like it a little rough too ;)

The last book can not come out soon enough. FYI the epilogue ends on a cliffhanger!

This was just too unrealistic for me. Especially as a mafia book.

The story had too much syrup and not much else. Ended up skimming a lot of it.

Twisted Knight
(Cosa Nostra #2)
Written by: R.G. Angel

It’s no secret I am a fan of Author R.G. Angel’s Cosa Nostra Series. Reading Dom’s story though, well he earned my heart in the prologue.

Now as a grown man and Luca’s consigliere, Dom has taken this job to heart and he will not let anything happen to Luca, Cassie or Jude her brother. Now they were expected children of their own, yes, twins. Any new change is going to make Dom worry and that is what is on his mind while traveling to the airport to pick up Cassie’s cousin from Calgary. A new person, is she a threat, I think the biggest threat though is the head games his head often forces him into playing Dom is a good man, a good man who has done bad things. Those bad things though, they weren’t things Dom would have normally taken part in, but forced upon him during his most formative years.

I loved India from the moment she appeared in the book. She’s strong, willing to help out and step up, the only thing that haunts her is the fact she allowed herself to be put in a situation that she knew was wrong, but instead of taking the advice she would give to any other client, she stayed and it took a hospital stay to make her walk away. You see India is a therapist, Doctor heal thyself.

The past has come back to haunt Dom notes and texts distract him and instead of telling Luca he tries to deal with it himself. All of this while India is breaking down his barriers, they talk, they banter back and forth and they become friends.

The one thing I always loved about Dom is his sense to humor and his ability to slide zingers into his conversations especially with Luca and Cassie and always when he gets one in on Matteo!

Author R.G. Angel did a simply wonderful job bringing us Dom and wounded man who just needed someone to help him heal and love.

Yet another 5 star Cosa Nostra read from R.G. Angel

Dom had a truly evil father who forced his son to participate in terrible things which really did his head in for life. Nowadays, Dom is only with paid women when he has that itch, and doesn't think he's fit for anything else. India has come to be with her cousin who is about to give birth to twins, and there are sparks galore when these two are near each other, but Dom does his utmost best to keep her away because he doesn't think he deserves her. It's only a matter of time before those sparks ignite, and it doesn't take a genius to see that they're perfect for each other, plus India is totally getting comfortable with his mafia life. Of course there's danger in the shadows which had the twists coming in hot so my f-bombs were falling like crazy which is my favorite place to be. Will Dom be able to keep India safe for a future together?! You know what to do to find out. I didn't want to end this review without saying something about a secondary who almost succeeded at stealing the show, Matteo LOL. I certainly CANNOT WAIT for his book but in the meantime, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Finally book 2 is here. First I love Indie and I see how she is cousin with the sassy Cassie. I REALLY recommend Cassie & Luca story it's a beauty and beast story. It's a hot romance and witty. They are relationship goal to Dom and this is his story

Dom & Indie did not start off well but she wasn't afraid to say to him "do you alway answer a question with a question?" And she is slowly introduced to the Mafia world and Cassie was confident that Indie would be great with it and she was right. Dom has a HORRIFIC past which I will not spoil but it affect future. Dom has a surpise to in this book that I will not spoil...

Indie is a therapist and she has good instincts BUT her ex went under her radar as in she saw the signs but choice to ignore them. That is why I love her cause she knows she has faults and she surpises me at the end of the book....no spoilers. Like she said its modern times

☆MUST READ & FAV☆
HOT romance with witt. I honestly just smiled through this book and I love that Luca & Cassie appear in this books alot. Cause they a positive influence on Dom.

"A Dark and Gripping Mafia Romance"

Move over Don Vito Corleone, there's another famiglia in town.  And they're not here entirely to pay a simple visit.  They're here for their family to protect, honor, and to preserve as each try to achieve their own form of redemption.

Twisted Knight, by R.G. Angel, is the second story of the Cosa Nostra Series and it wastes no time as it sucker-punches the reader right off the bat as it continues down a gripping, trigger infused, dark, and emotional road for Gianluca, Domenico, and Matteo as these, at one time regular young boys, quickly turn into strong mafia men as they enter a world of secrets, pain, sacrifice, love, and ultimately their own redemption.

Wow.  This is quite the story as it seems to tease the reader with its slow pace with various forms of trigger points, with off and on page warnings, as this heavy story is in fact a mafia story.  And they clearly are exciting yet brutal reads filled with many twists and turns. Readers need to be aware of the existence of rape, torture, and violence triggers as they come at unforeseen moments during the story.

Twisted Knight, is equally a romance between Dom and India as each damaged soul, one more than the other, bravely embark on their own road to peace and redemption regardless of the twists and turns that attempt to block their path during their newly formed relationship.

Oh boy, what a dark and heavy read this was as the forced actions of Dom's past continuously haunt him during his self-imposed purgatory and professed need for continued dedication to his extended family to sooth his soul and lack-of-humanity.  Gah, I love Dom as he is an intrinsically kind man with such a good heart who craves love and actually a normal life.  For this, I was glad for the presence of India who was able to break through his wall of darkness to allow the real Domenico to come to light.

SQUEE!!!  I loved the secondary characters as they had a heavy presence within this story, Jude and Enzo being my favorites.  I also loved the use of the phrases in Italian to make it a more authentic mafia story. Not having read the first story as-of-yet, it was just as pleasing to see how Luca was healing and for this, I do recommend reading Broken Prince as it is sure to be quite the read as well.

However.  While I did thoroughly enjoy reading this story, and as there is so-much-incredible-meat to Dom and India's background, for such a great need for their relationship, I needed more of their background as well as their developing relationship.  I didn't quite feel as much of a connection with them until the very end and felt something was missing.  I felt that I knew more of the secondary characters than of the primary ones.

All-in-all, call me a sucker for dark and emotional mafia romances, but, regardless of a smattering of typos and being a bit confusing, the writing in this one was addicting with humanized, humorous, and, incredible characters setting the bar quite high for future stories of the Cosa Nostra Series.  I really liked it...:)
