Unexplained, Unsolved, Unsealed Mysteries of the World (Volume 2): Strange Disappearances, Paranormal Activities, Cold Murder Cases, Abnormal Occurrences

Rate this book
Read about strange disappearances, paranormal activities, cold murder cases and abnormal occurrences. A trained and experienced mountaineer leaves his friends and skis down to take photos of them as they pass through. The friends reach the mountain base to find a discarded photo box but not a single trace of their friend. The searchers find only a single pair of ski tracks that lead to nowhere and help them reach no conclusion. More than 5 decades later, no one knows what happened to the mountaineer. A radio frequency has been broadcasting for more than three decades. No one has been able to decipher the information being relayed or even figure out the people transmitting and receiving the signals. All we know is that everyone else is in the dark. Footsteps at night in the attic. A trail in the snow leading from the woods to the cabin but never returning. A mysterious former maid. An incestuous relationship between father and daughter. Missing keys and the final murder of a whole family. Four teenagers set out on an innocent and romantic adventure at a local Lake. Only one of them remained alive the following day, even though their assailant severely injured him. Forty years later, it is unsure if he was a lucky survivor or the killer of his friends. One Sunday night, two TV stations had their broadcast signals hijacked by someone wearing a weird mask and swearing into the screen. More than three decades later, no one knows who they were, what they wanted, and why they hijacked those channels. They lured unsuspecting travelers into their cabin with the promise of a warm bed and the provision of extra supplies to continue their journey. None of those travelers ever made it out of their place the following day. When the public discovered their atrocities, the family had deserted their abode and moved far away from justice. One hundred fifty years later, no one can truly say where they disappeared to.

Interesting

The stories were researched pretty well and gave enough information to draw you in and make you want to learn more about the cases. Good book for readers who like mysteries.

Stranger than fiction

This book contains six stories of real-life mysteries. I was familiar with three of them and three were new to me.

In some cases, so much time has passed that it is extremely unlikely that we will ever get answers concerning what really happened. In the case of the Bloody Benders, the mystery is not what they did but rather where they escaped to when suspicion fell on them.

These unexplained events are in no way connected with the paranormal or supernatural, but you might get a glimpse of Bigfoot.

Another book on odd things that have happened. One is a guy chased down a hilllby an ape-like being (Bigfoot?) There's another ape-like creature on Mt. Helens, haunting noises in an attic (ghosts? raccoons? squirrels/),teens killed at a beach and similar stories.

None of them actually prove the existence of a supernatural event but they all could be caused by something like that. It's the problem of how much proof needs to be provided before a supernatural event is accepted as something supernatural.

A quick read on strange events

I enjoyed this quick read, because it was interesting and some of it was new to me. The two stories that got my attention were the one from Germany in the 1920's about the murder of a whole family and the other was the Benders, a creepy family in Kansas during the 1870's. I will say that I am familiar with these two events, but it was still interesting to read about them again. If you like true crime stories then check out this book.
