Holly Chee does not have her life together. She's flip-flopped on uni courses and career choices, and somehow scared off her long-term fiancé-to-be, much to the chagrin of her immigrant parents.
But she does have her streaming channel, where she broadcasts her art from her one-bedroom Mount Lawley apartment. And she has that guy from France... assuming he's even who he says he is.
"The Guy From The Internet" is a sweet #OwnVoices Asian-Australian romance novella, set in the world of Somerville Downs.
* Contains mild swearing, multicultural language, alcohol use, and references to workplace harassment and infidelity.
Birdie Song is an Asian-Australian writer. She pens sweet stories featuring hopeful characters and optimistic endings (spoiler alert!). She believes love is more important than labels, integrity is a person’s most attractive quality, and that no one should be judged for putting pineapple on a pizza.
Her latest story is Cinnamon, Ginger, Nutmeg, Love, a sweet and cosy paranormal shifter romance appearing in The Pumpkin Spice Romance by Aconite Cafe. Add it to your TBR!
Loved it. Such a modern love story, and I enjoyed how the dynamics of the girl's family added to the conflict. I can't wait for the next book from this author.
It was a pleasure watching the heroine grow into her own person, while receiving virtual encouragement from a man she meets online. Birdie Song has created real characters whom we can believe we know and like and root for. This is an author I didn't know before but now I'm looking forward to my next Birdie Song book. Highly recommended!
