Foreign forces rule Australia. A Coalition of the Willing-like force moved in to protect investments and the right to access natural resources. The Prime Minister of the day had cut off sales of uranium to countries with nuclear arms, and oil and coal to heavy polluters. After staged “terrorist attacks”, the foreign troops arrived. The occupation soured over time and a group of nationalists—The Crowd—are set on liberation. When opposition to authority is crushed and those placed to effect change do nothing, insurgency becomes the first step towards revolution. But the price can be high and raises doubts in as many minds as support it. Relationships and people are damaged. The uptake of extremism to oust the Coalition destabilises social cohesion, allowing chaos into daily life.
