Two sweet stories about finding your one true love.
In Language of Love , Janna is quickly adapting to life in Seattle as a high school exchange student from Hungary. Or at least Julian, the cute boy she met in a coffee shop, thinks she is. The truth is, he overheard Janna using a phony accent, and now she’s stuck playing the part….Will Julian want to be with the real Janna? Or will she discover that lies don’t always translate to love?
In Cupidity , high school is the single worst place to find a boyfriend. And Laura Sweeney is no exception. She hasn't had a date since...well, ever. So Laura needs guidance. A proven "get the guy" strategy. Luckily she knows exactly the expert to call. He's a matchmaking mastermind who actually has the bow and arrow to prove it. Let's just call him...Cupid.

Predictable and fun, Language of Love is an adorable read that will be sure to entice readers. The plot was a bit elementary, as any girl should realize pretending to be someone you are not never ends up well. The plot was quite predictable, but that's part of the charm of the romantic story.
The plot was very cute, despite the initial drawbacks I had. The story was very easy to get caught up in, and it was a lot of fun. Deborah Reber does a really great job transporting readers right into the story.
I really connected with the characters. I enjoyed seeing Janna break out of shell and experience a little more with her wild side as the story went on. I think everyone has a Molly in their life, so she was a really fun character to follow. I think Emmett was my favorite character of the book, as he is the perfect best friend anyone would want. I really enjoyed his role in the story - the scenes with him were the best.
Language of Love is a wonderful addition to the collection of romantic comedies out there. They always are fantastic reads, that consume you from page 1 to the last.
Cupidity - 3 stars
The Simon Pulse Romantic Comedies are always such great reads! Cupidity was no exception, and I found myself loving the story. I love mythology, so finding books that incorporate it is a ton of fun.
The characters were very real in Cupidity. I found it very easy to connect with them. While the plot was a bit corny, it was still fun to read about.
I suggest Cupidity, and all the Simon Pulse Romantic Comedies. The story is a bit cheesy, but it is fun to read anyways.
Well this is just a quick note about the cover. While it is cute enough (although has nothing to do with the story) i hate the fact that Simon pulse gave up the cute cartoon style covers and started grouping books. Which half the time have nothing in common. Especially when I look at the gorgeous cover we could of had. Not to mention the title of love, love, love is so generalised that it took me months before I actually picked it up at the library and only brought it home when I realised that cupidity which I enjoyed was packed with another book that actually has a title. I know it seems petty but when people title their books it is to attract the people who will read them. i am only going to review Language of Love as i have read and probably reviewed cupidity already. i am not really sure what i think of Janna there are times (the begining really) where she annoys me to bits. yes i can totally see myself in her. getting caught making a joke like that is somthing that would probably happen to me but going along with a lie a friend tells... no way. so as i coasted through this book i found it went slow because she irritated me soo much. but when she finaly stands up for herself i devoured this book as fast as i could. i could entirely relate to her relationship with Emmett and i loved the 1 minute rant everynight. so in the end i am glad that i ran out of things at the library and decided to pick this up otherwise i would never have found this sweet little read.
Simple and light reading book. 2 stories in 1 book and they’re cuteeee. I love high school stories like this. Second story was quite interesting. I enjoyed reading this :)
two stories in one Cupidity and Language of love Language of Love is the first story in the book, its about a girl Janna who has to pretend to be someone she is not because she was talking in an accent with her friend and 2 boys went up to them and just started to talk to them. After that they went on a few dates and after the few dates Janna realizes taht she doesnt fell right lying to Julian the guy that thinks shes from a foreign country, but sooner or later he does finds out and everything just starts to go downwards and she finds a way to get him back.
the second book is Cupidity and its about a girl name Laura who hasnt had a boyfriend in like forever and she screams to Mercury a roman god. She loves to study Mythology. Since the God heard it they send Cupid desguised as a girl to help Laura find a boyfriend and her name is Cupidity. They become good friends trying to hook laura up with guys and all until...Laura starts to think the Cupidity was an actual Cupid and starts to reasearch. She found her bows and arrows and accidently shot CUpidity with it and she forgets everything even that Hes cupid the god of love..... and things just goes downwards---> the guy laura likes is dating the head cheerleader... but Cupidity's "dad" comes and tells the whole truth to Laura about the gods and not shes on a mission to find venus the goddess of love and reverse every thing back to normal....and also find her true love
i recommend this book to people who likes a little romance in a book
Wow...... This book was full of love, drama, and more drama!!! O.O Well, these 2 stories were VERY different from what I usually read. To me these stories were just weird, uncomfortable for me to read, it was an easy read and both have happy endings (yay!) but to me they were really short and confusing. (don't blame me I'm mixed emotioned right now with this one I can't even speak right now :P
The first book Language of Love, I liked it, but it was all one big lie, and I just found myself getting annoyed because Janna is just one big fat lie! Literally the first chapter and the last chapter in the book is when she was telling the truth, and its just so annoying :( It was ok, if you can read a book that doesn't annoy you by the constant lying, drama, and doesn't have a strong protagonist, then by all means read this one.
Then the second book, Cupidity, I am speechless with that one. I don't even know what to say... I mean it was original, but I didn't actually expect to find the roman gods in this one!!! WOW.. O.O
I'm so speechless.....

In Love, Love, Love, you get 2 books for the price of 1. Deborah Reber’s, Language of Love, is book 1. Caroline Goode’s, Cupidity, is book 2.
Language of Love: I gave it 3 stars. It’s Deborah’s first debut novel and I really liked it. It was nice, cute and fun read for sure. This book has good lesson in it for teens about self discovery and influence by those who are around you.
Cupidity: I gave it 2 stars. I was really excited to read the second book because I really liked Language of Love. I guess I had high expectation, because Cupidity was *ugh*. It wasn’t what I was expecting at all. It was predictable and I don’t believe in Cupid’s crap. I really wanted to like it but it was just umm...not my taste.
It's interesting to read that most reviewers preferred the first story, Language of Love, over the second, Cupidity. I didn't care for the first story at all. Whether because it was trite, stereotypical teenage angst or because I get too much of that teenage angst on a regular basis, I can't say. But I do know that the characters were annoying and the storyline completely predictable. The second story was more interesting because of the modernization of the mythological figures. Despite being better than the first story, I still cannot imagine even my teenage self being interested or engrossed in either of these stories. I know there are good YA novels out there, but this was not one of them.
So far I have only read Language of Love, so that is what I am reviewing. Janna is a shy and outgoing person until she starts pretending to be an exchange student from Hungary. It is a twisting journey to see how she got herself into it, and learned a lot about herself in the process. I can see how the lie could continue and sympathize with her since I have often wished for a chance for a fresh start, to be someone else. Her best friends Molly and Emm are well written and play great supporting roles. This is a cute and quick read, funny, romantic, and it has a well wrapped up, satisfying ending.
Books were okay. They were good but wished there was more events. Loved all the characters, and the romantic situations. Loved how it showed how love is trust. Loved all the lessons to learn from both stories my favorite was Cupidity. Loved how it brought together Cupid and the gods, Zeus, and Athena. Great way to add that in to the story. Went well with the rest of the story. Loved the purpose of Cupid.
I liked both books, though Cupidity took a while for me to get into. I love the Greek mythology part of it - so unique! Cupid becoming Cupidity was a little weird and unrealistic, especially the name and her/his behavior. Like, Cupid's a guy - shouldn't he be at least a little uncomfortable acting like a girl?
LANGUAGE OF LOVE - 5 stars!!!! Cupidity - 1 star Whole book - 3 stars
I only read "language of love" for this review. I loved language of love. But cupidity didnt interest me. So I had to give this book only 3 stars. If I could review the stories separately is give language of love 5 stars.
it is on of my favorite book now,its because it has drama with the whole best friend in love with you situation and the fake accent its a really good book i am sure you will like it if you are into drama
It took me forever to get through this. I couldn't get into the plot and I hated the characters I just-ugh. I skipped words and then sentences and then whole paragraphs just to get to the end. I rarely ever stop reading a book but I came close for this one.
"Language of Love" was a really good, funny book. "Cupidity" however was not. "Cupidity" was the most stupid book I have read in my entire life! So fake and not even real! I cringed and couldn't even finish it!
I loved the first story: Language of Love. It was a cute short story that you can relate to. Cupidity was okay-ish but I didn't find it as interesting as Language of Love.
Gave the book 3 stars because of the first story. The second story was weird what with all the mythology references and cupidity was a bit twisted as well.
This new teen romance contains two separate stories by two different authors, but both stories are light and fun explorations of teen love, and without some of the graphic content you don’t enjoy.
The second story appealed to me a lot more than the first. I enjoyed both and they were a quick and easy read. I was glad that the second story had some fantasy in it!
The first story was ok, pretty predictable. So 2 stars for that one. The second one had some really funny moments so 3 stars for that one. Over all they were cute, not too deep.
