The Legend of Morgan's Corner and Other Ghost Stories of Hawaii

Rate this book
Lopaka Kapanui, author of Haunted Hawaiian Nights (Mutual 2005), once again offers a spine-tingling collection of ghost stories sure to prick your soul and give you "chicken skin." These tales were passed on to the author by everyday people and he re-tells them, unembellished, in his own distinct talk-story style. Follow Lopaka as he leads tours to visit haunted sites around the island of Honolulu, stand under the haunted tree at Morgan's Corner, discover the story behind the lady with no face that haunts the Waialae area and Lopaka's theory to explain the famous choking ghosts.

Mr. Kapanui treats the Hawaiian paranormal with reverence and respect. As you read the stories, you almost feel as if you know the people personally and actually experienced the sightings and other things. He also speaks so highly of his mentor, Dr. Glen Grant. I have met Dr. Grant, who is now deceased, and took a ghost tour with him. He was the most genuine guy and an awesome storyteller! I'm happy that Mr. Kapanui is following his tradition.
