"If we collectively enhance our sleep as a society, I think we will experience less overall pain and be able to be present to live our lives to the fullest"

Listened to this book at work and it was good in getting me to be more aware of tired verse drowsiness. It gave some good advice (some that is pretty well-known) but still a nice gentle reminder of how to help your quality of sleep. She did try hard in this book to be relatable and funny while talking about sleep.

While there were a few useful points in here, this book was still research-dense and I certainly wouldn't consider it a "guide". Certain parts were also repetitive. The author's attempt to be inclusive, while well-intended, bogged down a lot of the text as well. Worth skimming in an afternoon but I wouldn't recommend reading this one cover-to-cover.

Got this from the library and didn’t realize it was written by a Tik tok doctor till I opened it up - there was nothing useful about the information and the tone was unprofessional and distracting. Buyer Beeware!

This book could have been much shorter, there was not much information on sleep solutions that isn’t already well known.

There was some helpful info in this book but it was completely overpowered by the most infuriating writing style I have ever come across. I’m so sorry. This was so bad.

[Audiobook] This is a helpful book providing background on sleep issues, information on different sleep disorders, and tips to improve your sleep. It seems directed more towards clinical practitioners than I was expecting, but I still appreciated the information.

I wanted so badly to love this book, and to be honest, there were some parts I did really enjoy. I definitely appreciated the author bringing up different, marginalized life circumstances and how they can affect sleep. That being said, the first third of the book was absolutely horrific to get through. There was so much poorly-explained discussion of how sleep works peppered with random slang thrown in there for a chaotic conglomeration of scientific terminology and "Big yikes!" I appreciate the author trying to make the book more approachable, but it was so uncomfortable to read.

A lot of the advice was good, but the book could have been condensed into a standard list of sleep hygiene tips, a short discussion on letting go of the things you can't control, and a BLM statement, without losing much content.
