The latest heartwarming Christmas romance from CP Ward, author of Christmas at the Marshmallow Cafe and Autumn in Sycamore Park. Christmas is coming but hardworking single mother Sophie Wilkins is tired. Teenage stropfest daughter Elizabeth and oddball, outcast son David take up so much of her energy that she has little left to cope with her second ex-husband, the irritating Jeremy, who won’t take no for an answer. When her parents suggest a family Christmas trip to a Scottish campsite resort called Log Fire Cabins, it could be just what she needs. Peace and quiet in the middle of a secluded pine forest … but with things really turn out as she hopes? Will Jeremy really get the message this time, or will someone new appear to sweep her off her feet? Christmas at Log Fire Cabins is another quirky, heartwarming Christmas story from CP Ward, the acclaimed author of several much loved Christmas books, including We’ll Have a Wonderful Cornish Christmas and Christmas at the Marshmallow Café.
I can almost feel the exhaustion that single mom Sophie Wilkins is feeling in this heartwarming Christmas story. Her children are being difficult (teenagers) and draining her energy. And dealing with her persistent ex-husband Jeremy who won’t leave her alone is draining. So the trip to the Scottish campsite resort, Log Fire Cabins, seems like a spot for peace and quiet in the middle of the pine forest. Will this time away be everything she hopes it is? Even when Jeremy steals the vehicle that has everyone’s gifts in the back?
The story has humor and lots of interaction among the characters. Grab your copy and see if their Christmas turns out the way they all envisioned it!
Christmas at Log Fire Cabins is not the usual Christmas story. As all Christmas stories, it brings joy, laughter, and a sense of those good times we had in the past, however, it leaves a strong message: do not procrastinate, live each day as if it were your last and could provide a miracle; give space to those who are learning (in spite of age), and try to learn with them; expect the unexpected and act as if it were normal; always give a second chance to everyone and everything in life. The story is written with good humor, and with a lot of respect for everything and everyone who does not fit the box and is unusual, and provides the reader with good entertainment and food for thought.

Sophie is exhausted this holiday from dealing with two teenagers and an ex husband that will not leave her alone. The characters are complex with a lot going on, like in real life, so you get the intense feelings. The storyline has fun, drama, tension, great locales and feuding families. Loved the realistic visuals and diaglogue. Makes you think about others around that are quietly dealing with a lot as well.

A realistic story that grabs you and holds you in its grip until you read the last page. The characters are realistic and each are dealing with real life issues. The story is well written and reminds you to live in the moment and be patient with people in your life and realize not everyone is at the same place in life.

A heartwarming Christmas story. I enjoyed the book and loved the campsite/cabin setting of the book. The story line is realistic and there is a lot going on with an exhausted single mom, 2 old enough children and an ex-husband. This book has a little bit of everything with drama, family, romance and humor. Everyone will enjoy this uplifting holiday story.
The sixth book in the Delightful Christmas series, a well written story with a very good storyline that kept me turning pages. Sophie Wilkins, her children, her family, friends old and new, there is her ex- husband who is not that nice. A themed Christmas party. The story was well worth reading. YES, there is a lot going on. BUT IN real life there is a lot going on. Let alone if it is the Holidays and you have teenagers. This novel depicts the real struggle of trying to celebrate instead of breaking down when everyone is breaking you. We can all identify with Sophie. And I hope you love the cabin setting as much as I did.
A huge fan of other CP Ward’s Christmas books, this one truly fell a bit short. The story was good enough but the connection missed a few circuits making it not light up fully nor filling me with Christmas love I had for the other books I read, by Ward and loved….it just felt like there was filler missing.
Enjoyable Christmas story. Fun characters and heart warming moments. Crazy family times. This story has every thing in it for an entertaining Christmas time tale. I received this as an arc and freely left this as a review.

If you need a little light entertainment and something to curl up with, then this book is great for that. No high drama, no important issues, just escapism and a lot of snow. Good characters and a few interesting twists - I did enjoy reading this book!
