Jimmy Crikey's Adventures in Parallel Worlds: Jimmy vs Wormz

Rate this book
Earth is invaded by an alien species of omnivorous worm, the like of which no one has encountered before. The four guardian witches of Earth are powerless against the alien organism. It falls to Jimmy to seek the help of his technologically advanced friends on Attalia, his home planet in a different dimension. Jimmy may be an orphan, but he has friends on both sides of the universe. Jade, the apprentice witch, joins Jimmy on his quest by becoming a stow-away on Jimmy's starship but unfortunately, they are attacked en-route, in another dimension of space, by more worms. In a touch and go drama they are rescued and recovered to the safety of Attalia where President Alpha calls upon his scientists to formulate a solution to solve the threat, not only to Earth and its inhabitants but to any civilisation in any part of the universe.
They arrive at a plausible counterattack strategy, and it is in Jimmy's hands to deliver salvation, or die in the attempt.
Their str
ategy is complicated by the Wormz abilities to bore into adjacent parallel worlds and their ability to bore into their chasers. Jade becomes infected and needs the advanced technical assistance of the Attalian scientists to save her life.
The team cannot fail at the last hurdle. Will Jade recover in time to apply her special skills to help rid the world of Wormz?

Wallace Briggs (1943 – present). Happily married to Pat in 1964, who I first met at the age of eleven. We celebrated our Diamond Anniversary in Sept 2024.
Early years were lived in and around Durham never living more than 5ml distance from the Cathedral City. Married in 1964, Pat and I spent many happy years in the North East of England before employment almost took us off to emigrate to South Africa. But plans were changed in the final weeks and the company moved the family Sussex.
After more than twenty years in Sussex, then Hampshire, employment was again responsible for the move to beautiful rural Lancashire, where we still reside. I am now retired from a long career in sales and marketing of technical products in the UK and international markets.
Jimmy Crikey was born one rainy afternoon around over forty years ago, during a family holiday in Great Yarmouth, to entertain my son and his new-found friends for an hour or so. The story expanded over the following showery afternoons in the cramped confines of a beach tent, and more and more adventures were required to keep the children entertained.
The wonderment on the face of children obviously enjoying my stories was all the inspiration I needed to continue my journey as an author.
I look forward to sharing the adventures of Jimmy Crikey with a wider audience in the hope that they will bring a sense of wonder and enjoyment to another generation.

Lovely book, which is actually part of a series. Initially, I thought it would be a great bedtime read for my kids, but I enjoyed it as well! Nice style and detailed description and a captivating story!

Fascinating story about a young boy in search of new friends and acceptance. The book is all about the valuable moral lessons and on the other hand - the prejudice around us when we are different form the others. Lovely story!

This is a book for young adults mainly, however I think it is suitable for every age. The story would persuade you to believe in magic and to open your eye for the miracles around you. The author raises topics as self-love and acceptance in the book - things we don't discuss a lot these days!
