Her Unexpected Delivery

Rate this book
He's seen the woman behind the mask... Now he wants to know more.
Benny Frasier has always been the class clown type, thriving on the attention and laughter of others. So when his closest friends are all married or spending time with their significant others, he finds himself bored out of his mind. Until a chance delivery to the home of the town ice queen leaves him speechless...and curious.
Allison Mayer learned at a very young age that a thick coat of makeup and a cold demeanor were the only things that would save her from being a source of gossip and bullying. A fact her mother makes sure to remind her of every day. Allison was born with a port wine birthmark that covers half of her face and as a young teen, experienced the power of a few cruel individuals.
She has worked hard to make up for her deficiencies by catering to her mother's wants and keeping her face hidden from the public. So when their mail carrier, the handsome Bennet Frasier, accidentally sees her without makeup, she fears the worst. To her surprise, Benny doesn't make fun of her...he pushes her to step out of her comfort zone and live a life free of worry and fear.
Knowing his reputation as a jokester, can Allison believe Benny's motivations are sincere? Or is he just setting her up for another fall?
If you enjoy sweet, heartwarming romances with spunky heroines and swoon-worthy heroes, you'll ADORE Laura Ann's romantic tale of friendship, redemption and love.

A sweet story of self-discovery for two
The characters in this book are well developed and have real depth. You will find yourself laughing with them, worrying with them, and even feeling their hesitancy and fears. A very well written and enjoyable book. Benny is the class clown for the whole town. He’s played that role since adolescence and is very good at it. Part of his success is the ability to read people and know when to stop. Allison is and always has been closed off to everyone. Beautiful but untouchable. In high school she stayed away form all and interacted with no one as much as she could. But when Benny, the town’s mailman, delivers a package to Allison’s house he is shocked to see a whole new side to Allison. Perhaps she is not as perfect as everyone thinks and obviously things are going on that no one knows about. Benny can’t let that continue. And so, begins an insightful and very enjoyable tale of self-discovery and growth for both Allison and Benny that you won’t want to put down. This book is part of a series but can definitely be read as a standalone. I highly recommend it and the others in the series. I received an early copy and this is my honest review.

What a great series. Benny finally gets his story. When he feels left out because most of his friends have gotten married, he tries to focus on other things. Allison has always been a recluse and never hung out with anyone all through school. Benny delivers her mail and actually sees her without her makeup and notices she has a birthmark on one side of her face. He wants to find out more about her and comes up with ways to draw her out. He mother has always kept her away from other people and told her she would never be good enough. Benny and Ally, as he likes to call her, face obstacles and come out even better together.

I think this is my favorite book in this series so far. Benny is such a wonderful character, full of life and depth, an unexpected surprise.
Although his reason for pursuing Ally may not have been the best in the beginning seeing him grow as he coaxes Ally out of her shell is fun, romantic and oh so satisfying.
Watching Ally open up like a flower in the springtime revealing the beauty waiting to be discovered kept me reading right to the end. I loved this book.

I enjoyed Laura Ann's book, Her Unexpected Delivery. Allison Mayer's life has been adversely affected by the port wine birthmark that covers half of her face. Raised by a "dictatorish" mother, and hiding behind concealing makeup, Allison's life has been anything but normal. Things change, though, when mail carrier Bennet Frasier delivers a package and sees her without makeup. Since all of his friends seem to be pairing off and getting married, Bennet decides to spend some time with "Ally". This is the first book I have read in this series, and now I want to read the others!

Allison has hidden her facial birthmark secret for a long time. Then Benny sees her face. He's craving love like her friends & thinks Allison is the one in spite of her being an ice queen. How they come to their HEA is a charming story including a very selfish, domineering mother. Highly recommend this story. I received a free copy. This is my voluntary opinion.

Signed, Sealed, Delivered.

I kept wondering what kind of woman would put up with/fall for Benny. Ally was perfect! Benny is the class clown of the series. You don’t know whether to laugh with him or smack him on the back of the head. I love how Ally brought out his protectiveness and sincerity. This story was sweet and funny! I loved seeing Ally find herself.

She’s a little bit damaged, he’s bored.

Allison has a birthmark on her face that has left her with a ton of issues and insecurities.
Benny is bored and lives life on the surface.

I liked the contrast between the two. One introverted and the other an extrovert.

Recommend.

Another good one in the series.

I’m reading the series in order and enjoying them all. The character development is good so that now you feel like the characters are your friends. They are exactly what the title indicates - sweet, small-town romance novels that leave you feel good.

I loved this book and the characters. It was good catching up with other characters in the previous books. Even though I was given a copy of this book by the author, it in no way influenced my opinion and this is my honest review.

Benny is so great!

Benny is so great! I loved him in all the other books. Glad he finally got his happy ending with Ally. Ally grew up in a horrible childhood and Benny helped bring her out in the open!

awesome

Another wonderful story. I can relate how awful it is to have something wrong with your face and how cruel some can be. What an inspiring story line of how Ally came out of her shell and survived.

This story touched my heart. I know how cruel children can be but even worse is when a parent is cruel. Allison is probably the only person more misunderstood than Benny. Benny has been hiding behind humor just as much as Allison has been hiding behind makeup. This was a really good story.

Benny’s story. We meet Allison, Ally as she comes to be known, who is the opposite of Benny and gives him some structure and balance just as he gives her fun and silliness. A HEA I recommend.

This is my favorite in the series so far. Benny might be a cut up but he has a heart of gold that we really see in this book. Allison - my heart just broke for her and her mom - I wanted to UGH. An unconventional start to one of the sweetest romances. Benny is being Benny but is so intrigued by Allison that it soon turns serious. Loved how he gave her a nickname that just melted her heart as well as mine. She was one strong young lady and I was cheering for her and them. One of the sweetest grand gestures I have read in awhile. Loved loved the ending and the intro to the next book.
