With a plan to trap the art thieves in place, Beckett’s only focus is keeping Violette safe. But her methodical ways war against the gut instincts that drive him. Only one of them can be right…except when they’re between the sheets.

What a great plot for Beckett's story! Adventure, crime, drama, romance, second chances, this book has it all. It was a smooth, easy read as I find all of Em Petrova's books to be. Jake Beckett really comes into his own and finally realizes what he's been missing. His Ex thinks he hasn't changed a bit, but looks can be deceiving, as everyone finds out.

This is a fastpaced read from start to finish. Art theft, running from Russians, bears, hunters and camping. Can't life get more miserable for Violette, never the outdoors type and her career the only man she has to rely on is her ex. Beckett never got over Violette and keeping her safe has him seeing her in a different light. I so enjoyed this book, the suspense, danger and steam kept me from putting it down.

Xtreme Limits is Jake Beckett's story. Brooding, no non-sense, tends to have a chip on his shoulder... Special Ops member Jake Bennett is not a man easily understood by women. Thankfully he has perfected his craft between the sheets which makes holding intimate conversations less of a relationship requirement.
Violette is a Museum Curator at the FLICK Museum in Anchorage. An artist herself, she is truly a more creative type. Jake understands hockey and action, not art. Having dated each other before, these two struggled to communicate without comments coming off sounding defensive or accusatory, which would just set each other off. Fighting often, the make up sex was always explosive- some of the best each has ever had. Sadly, a good relationship cannot survive on incredible sex alone and in time they broke up.

Now Violette and Jake find themselves once again in each other's lives when a robbery occurs at Violette's work and her life is threatened. On the run together, can these two finally learn to communicate and share their true heart's desires with one another? Or despite their attraction to one another, are they destined to not get along?

Nothing starts a new year off to a fabulous start better than a new release by one of my favorite authors, Em Petrova! "Xtreme Limits" is the 8th book in her military romance suspense series "Xtreme Ops". To date, this series is hands down one of my favorites. Strong, unique Alpha males; likeable and capable females; intriguing plot lines with adventures containing enough twists and turns to keep my attention fully engaged; and sexual tension and chemistry in spades. This book (and entire series) has the components of a must buy book! 1-click buy today.

Em Petrova has created the next book in the ‘Xtreme Ops’ series, and it’s hot enough to warm up even the coldest Alaska night. “Xtreme Limits” is book 8 in this series, but it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone.

In the epilogue of the previous book of the series (“Xtreme Pressure”), Jake Beckett’s teammate expresses concern that Jake has been out of sorts. After acknowledging that he’s been kind of mad at the world lately, Jake agrees that he could use a few days off. “Xtreme Limits” brings us in on what’s gone on with him, and it takes us along the next part of his life.

Special forces operator Jake and art gallery manager Violette had a relatively brief but very tumultuous relationship dominated by their intense physical attraction to one another. There were enough dramatic differences between them, though, that she thought the smart thing to do was to break up with him. As it turns out, they both have serious regrets about how it ended. Their mutual misgivings don’t get revealed until a wild sequence of events begins when Jake brings the woman he’s currently dating to an art show at the gallery Violette manages. A shocking crime, a dramatic rescue, a terrifying game of cat-and-mouse with the Russian mafia, and criminal accusations that could destroy both of their lives … through all that and more, Jake and Violette still can’t fight the overwhelming chemistry between them.

This is entertaining action-adventure story with plenty of steam, some humor, military camaraderie, great family members, and two strong-willed lead characters each coming to terms with their own. I found a couple of things in the story to be a little confusing, but nothing that ruined my enjoyment of it. I thought the epilogue was nicely done, and provided a good lead into the next book in the series.

Jake is going on a date to a place he would like you avoid, because his ex Violette works there. The evening turns out totally different as he thought. Because his date tries to steal an artifact and Jake runs of with his ex Violette.
Trying to keep her safe from the bad guys who want the artifact.

It brings them into the wilderness of Alaska together and they find out the attractions between them is still very much there. Causing very hot and steamy moments.
They also learn more about the other as when they were in their relationship.

Great read like all the books in this series with action, survival, bad guys, attraction, taking care of your teammates and the each other.

Jake & Violette’s book is excellent & very well-written. Jake is an action-oriented guy and not really eloquent with words when it comes to women. He’s super protective though, and their chemistry and romance is enjoyable to watch develop! I love how smart & adaptable Violette is. It’s super steamy, witty, action-packed, suspenseful, and a marvelous second chance romance! Petrova is so talented & wonderful at creating a thrilling story line, too!

Violette and Jake Beckett are perfect together. This second chance romance has the action, suspense, danger, and chemistry you need. Art theft, mafia, and so much more. Second chances are possible even when you think you’re too different.

On the Run . . .

Jake Beckett and Violette Ashley used to date each other. They were physically an excellent pair, but communication skills were sadly lacking and they broke up.

Violette is the curator of a Museum in Anchorage, Alaska. When Jake’s date wants to go to the museum, he is surprised when she tries to steal an art object. Violette steps in to stop her and violence erupts. Violette and Jake end up on the run for their lives. Now that they have to depend on each other in the Alaskan wilderness, will they finally learn to effectively communicate? Or will Special Operative Jake Beckett continue to clash with his former girlfriend in trying to keep her safe?

A second chance if they can survive

Xtreme Limits is the eighth book in the Xtreme Ops series. This book is a wonderful weaving together of action, suspense, drama, romance, adventure, and a smoking hot passionate second chance love. The story is about Jake Beckett and Violette Ashley who are very different and have a battle of wills. They dated once upon a time but let's just say that the lack of communication from Jake did not work for Violette. Jake is a true Alpha who's moral compass is straight and true. So when he is on a date one night and she ends up trying to steal some fine art he steps in and ends up being on the run with Violette. Violette is the curator of the FLICK Museum in Anchorage, Alaska. She is intelligent, beautiful and knows how to fight and make up. When she is threatened during an attempted robbery at the museum she finds herself being grabbed by none other than Jake, her ex. These two have explosive chemistry, which was never the problem, but they have to learn how to communicate, which was always the issue, in order to survive.

This book is another fantastic addition to this series. The story-line is enthralling from start to end, with some fun twists and surprises along the way. I really loved the characters and enjoyed the battle of the wills and some witty and biting banter. This was a really enjoyable read and a book I would definitely RECOMMEND.

Xtreme Limits is the eighth book in the Xtreme Ops series. This story is about Jake Beckett and Violette Ashley who are as completely different as can be and are constantly it seems having a battle of the wills. They actually dated for awhile but Violette broke it off which she learns was a premature decision that was a wrong decision on her part. Jake is Special Ops on break, on a date with his current girlfriend Megan, she tells him its a special date, dress nice, they end up at the Flick Museum where Violette is the curator. While they are on their date Jake is trying his best to avoid Violette but suddenly Megan attempts to rob a very valuable artifact alarms going off, sprinklers set off, gun shots happening - Violette cannot allow this priceless artifact be stolen so she struggles and takes it away from Megan, next thing Violette realizes Jake is carrying her to his truck. Now, Jake and Violette are officially on the run. From page one to the very last page you will be absolutely invested in this action packed fast paced story that has danger, suspense, drama, Russian Bratva, killing, adventure, steamy hot passionate sex, unbelievable chemistry. This book I highly recommend. Definitely an excellent addition to my reading library. I am looking forward to book Nine Xtreme Rules - Winston’s Story. What a great action romance! Started out with a twist and a very crafty plot. Included so much in a fast read.
Jake, along with current girlfriend, meet up with his X at a museum and things all go bassackwards from then on. Nothing at all is guaranteed in life except the flames that still burn hot between Jake and Violette, who happens to be the curator of said museum.
What occurs next has them running for their lives, and if they could keep their hands off each other, they might stand a chance of making it to the end, alive, until the whole fiasco can be straightened out. The bratva gets involved, which then brings in the rest of Jake's Ops team, and some pretty dicey intense moments ensue here, which doesn't include the sex these two seem to need, like breathing the air. Really! I mean the damn bears were there, the Russians were there, hunters, locals and who knows who else? All these risks must've had their adrenaline spiking. These two gotta be smelling eau de stink more than pheromones, but they were hawt for each other.
I was reading in angst right along with these two until I got to the fantastic HEA! And what a bonus epilogue with extra happy feels!!

Jake Beckett and Violette Ashley have nothing in common other than a fierce, intense attraction to each other. At least that is what she believed when Violette broke up with him months ago after a short few months of seeing each other. But after Jake comes to her rescue during a botched robbery at the gallery where she works, she is beginning to think they didn’t know each other at all and maybe she shouldn’t have been so hasty to break up with him. For instance, Violette didn’t know he was part of a Special Ops team stationed in Alaska, that he was highly skilled and very capable of protecting her as they run for their lives. Their chemistry is still off the charts and giving into their desire for each other is proving to be hotter than ever, but also too distracting as the art thieves and another predator pursues them. Heightened senses and emotions lead to them finally seeing each other as they truly are, not the version they showed each other when they had dated. Both Jake and Violette now want a second chance at a happily ever after, but they have to stay alive to get it.

I found this book hard to put down, action-packed and absolutely riveting. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Xtreme Limits is the eighth book in Em Petrova’s amazing, action packed, Xtreme Ops Series. This is a second chance romance story that is well written, suspenseful and filled with well developed characters and a fantastic storyline. This book and it’s characters draw you in and keeps you engaged until the very end. I couldn’t put it down. This book can be read as a standalone, but when read in order, a greater appreciation for the series and the characters is achieved.

Months after their breakup, sparks continue to fly when Special Operative Jake Beckett and museum director Violette Ashley unexpectedly bump into each other again at a museum showing. When Jake steps in the save Violette, they are forced to flee into the Alaskan wilderness to escape the art thieves that are looking for them. As always the lust and chemistry between them is intense, but will they be able to stop their constant arguments long enough in order to stay alive? Will this dangerous adventure bring the love they have for each other to the surface? Read it and find out!

The next book in this series, Xtreme Rules, comes out later this year and I can’t wait to read Winston’s story!

A second chance romance. It was strange this romance started out with Jake and Violette knowing so little about each other.

The story was full of action, danger, and suspense. It also allowed me to see Jake and Violette's relationship growing into something stronger. I liked that the relationship grew more intense while not getting sappy. Violette also pulled one of the DUMBEST moves I have ever seen. There is inexperienced, but then there is also STUPID.

There was also plenty of steamy scenes in this book. Although, I do admit to questioning some of the places they chose to indulge while on the run. I would have gone with, "Sorry Big Papa, we are going to have to wait until we reach civilization again." Lol!

It was a nice twist when the characters popped up that I wasn't expecting, and then the character that I had been expecting appeared as well.

I really liked that there was a good mix of action, danger, and suspense along with the romance. To include the Xtreme Ops family and the sweet, yet unexpected ending was a nice touch.

What worked for OFFAT SEAL Jake Beckett and art curator Violette Ashley as a couple was sex, what didn’t was everything else. Violette curated the exhibits at an art museum soiree Jake and his date, Megan, attend. Megan can’t resist sniping about the exhibit to Violette just before the women begin to physically fight over one of the artifacts.

Gunshots from several spots in the museum causes chaos as patrons run screaming to the exits while Jake breaks up the fight. Jake holds onto Violette and joins the crowd as bullets barely miss them. Driving away, Violette realizes she still has the artifact. Coded responses from her police chief father lets Violetta know she’s wanted for multiple thefts that night.

Stopping to hide in two separate Tundra shelters, Jake and Violette have time to resolve some of their dating issues. But the pair is shot at both times, letting them know aren’t as alone as they thought. Surprisingly, an unacceptable offer comes from a not so unexpected source, giving the team a chance to shine but the plan is against Violette’s judgment.

I loved the basis of the story behind Xtreme Limits and Jake was fantastic as the protective hero. He does not disappoint when thrust into a situation involving his Ex, saving a museum artifact from falling into the wrong hands and being dumped into the Alaskan wilderness with only a backpack and a duffel bag. Along the way, he barters for food, confronts a bear and tangles with Russians. However, I could only give the book 3 stars, because of his poor choice in women. His Ex, Violette, is an artist and continued to make stupid choices instead of putting her trust into the man she claims to love. She worked at a museum and Jake is military special ops working for Homeland Security. Under the same circumstances, there is no doubt I would be following every directive he gave to survive. Opposites attract and can make a relationship work, but I could not find the connection between these two for a successful HEA.

Jake was on leave from his Xtreme Ops team, in Anchorage with his newest date, Megan. She told him to dress up, but he didn't realize she was taking him to Art Gallery fundraiser...the problem being, he used to date Violette who worked as a curator at the museum...but Megan knew this, since she was there not to donate, but to rob the museum....but when Violette wouldn't let Megan get away with a priceless Russian artifact, Jake goes into action, making sure Violette and artifact were in his capable hands...but he and Violette are like oil and water in temperament, always working out their anger in the bedroom, in the kitchen, any available surface...but could they keep the artifact and themselves safe from the thieves, the Russians who wanted the artifact back and the authorities who wanted them for the theft...you will need to read this thriller to find out what happens...I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Xtreme Limits by Em Petrova is the eight book in the Xtreme Ops series and my least favourite of the series. I’m an avid fan of all Ms Petrova’s writing, and have a bookshelf filled with any that are in print, however while her stories are always laden with danger, suspense, and a whole lot of sizzling sex, this one seemed excessive and over the top. Don’t misunderstand, I’m all for plenty of sizzling, panty melting, and descriptive physical interaction, but this story (I can’t believe I’m saying this) had too much. I especially found some of the heated wilderness interactions between Beckett and Violette implausible. That said, the overall storyline was good, and the characters were OK, but for me, they weren’t particularly endearing. I’m hoping Winston’s story in Xtreme Rules will be more engaging and more like previous books by this talented author.

Another action filled novel as Special Operative Jake Beckett goes on what he thought was going to be a simple date ending up at the art gallery, where his ex-girlfriend, Violette works with the evening ending in the thief of a painting and the St Vasily Cross. Jake and Violette end up on the run for their lives with the Cross. Jake's original date wants to sell the Cross on the black market and the brava says it belongs to them. All Jake and Violette knew for sure was they could not keep their hands off each other, and they did not give themselves a chance before they brokeup. Being on the run in the middle of nowhere made them get to know each other on a deeper level. They only had each other to depend on. No one else was going to be coming to save them. You really do not want to miss this one.

So many surprises!

This is a twisty romantic suspense that employed a very unlikely alliance (especially if you've read the earlier books in this series) yet still got the job done. Jake and Violette are so good together! These two literally can't keep their hands off each other, and running for their lives only amps up the intensity of their desire.

I loved seeing Jake in action, and admired Violette for her bravery. Her parents were the perfect addition to the story, especially how her dad worked to keep her safe in the beginning.

There's not much I can discuss about the plot without spoilers, but it's an excellent, action-fueled story that kept me turning the pages as fast as I could read. The HEA was so sweet and tender, and the epilogue was very satisfying. I adored reading about the entire Xtreme Ops team, and am looking forward to the next book. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

The latest installment in the Xtreme Ops series tells Jake's story. When a surprise meeting with his ex-girlfried Violette turns into an explosive situation and they are left holding a priceless artifact that people will kill for, it takes all of his survival skills to keep them alive. The story is full of fast-paced action interspersed with steamy scenes as the attraction between them bursts free. My niggles with it are the sheer - and hard to believe - stupidity of some of Violette's actions and the fact that the body count is IMO unneccessarily high towards the end. The involvement of the rest of the team is minimal, but there are glimpses into their lives that I always enjoy. Great HEA and I look forward to the next team member falling in love.

4.5 stars.

I have enjoyed this second chance between Jake and Violette, I did want to shake them both a lot for poor communication, being closed off and for a few decisions that were made. However, when they did open up and communicate they showed me how well suited they were for each other and that there was nothing in the world that was going to get between them this time around.

Old foes and new are in this, along with danger, lies, secrets and the darker side of life, it was balanced nicely with friends, family, respect, support, acceptance, good chemistry and connection as well as lots of love. I am enjoying this series and looking forward to reading the next one when it's ready to be read.

I love how Em Petrova’s books flow seamlessly into one another. At the end of Xtreme Pressure, Jake is noted as being out of sorts, and this book really has him put through the wringer – what a start when your new girlfriend takes you (without warning) to a show where your ex works – and then there’s a heist. Violette and Jake make an interesting couple, and they start to learn things about the other that they hadn’t bothered to while they were initially together. Jake rescues Violette and takes her – where else if it’s Xtreme Ops – to Alaska, and there he protects and reconnects with her. Some of those steamy moments were confusing – they’re on the run from bad guys! But in the end, the good guys win, and the right guy gets the right girl.

In this 8th book in the Xtreme Ops series we get Jake and Violette's action-packed second chance romance story. Jake is told by the woman who he's dating to dress up for dinner that they're going to the museum the one where Violette works. Jake had no idea that when she said that they were going for dinner she was going to try to steal an artifact from Violette's museum. This forces Violette to grab the artifact from her and then when the gunfire erupts Jake carries Violette out of the museum to his truck. They now have to run from the people who wanted to steal the artifact and are trying to kill them. Can Jake and Violette work together when all they do is fight? You really need to read this suspenseful story to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

Violette and Jake have history together as they were a pair but broke up due to lack of communication skills, (go figure) Violette is a Museum curator in Alaska. Jake's date wants to go to the Museum where Violette works and she tries to steal an art object. Violette isn't having it and fights the woman to get it back. Suddenly there is violence with guns firing. Jake, who works with the Xtreme Ops Team, grabs Violette and they take off in his truck. They head for the wilderness and find that they have to work together. Will Jake be able to keep Violette safe or will they die trying? Great story that has lots of action, violence, adventure, some drama, and of course plenty of steam. This has been a great series.

There's a saying "you don't know what you've got until it's gone." Jake Beckett and Violette Ashley did two things well in the relationship: argue and burn up the sheets. Running into each other after months apart really brings into focus, for them both, just how much they cared for and missed one another. Xtreme Limits is about rebuilding trust and their relationship. In addition there's an art theft with possible ties to Bratva. Jake and Violette end up in possession of a priceless artifact and on the run in the middle of nowhere Alaska, living by their wits and his experience. They finally take the time to really communicate and get to know each other. Something they'd neglected when they were together before. It's in this serious and stressful time they realize the true depth of their emotions. Now they just have to prove their innocence and catch the real culprit.

Violette & Jake used to be a couple, but she broke up with him because she didn't understand his job which he never talked about. What she didn't know was that he couldn't talk about it.
Years later Jake shows up at an art museum with Megan. Upon seeing Violette, Jake tries to hide, but he can't. Megan calls Violette over to ask some questions about the art.
Little do Jake & Violette know, Megan is there to steal the St. Vasily Cross. Violette wrestles with Megan then Jake picks up Violette & the Cross & sprints out the door.
Will Jake & Violette be able to clear their names, get back together & live happily ever after? You have to read & find out.
I got a free copy & I am giving my opinion freely & voluntarily. This is an awesome story.

Thrilling story from start to finish. Jake finds himself at a museum function with his girlfriend, however, it seems that as soon as they arrive the proverbial hits the fan! His ex girlfriend works at the museum and he’s surprised to see her. Roll on a few minutes and a robbery takes place, his current girlfriend legs it leaving him to protect his ex! They soon find themselves on the run with a very important artefact. They have to address their feelings for each other and whilst they are exploring that road, they have to stay one step ahead of unknown assailants who want the artefact! Action packed, sexy story. Loved it.
