Happy to celebrate Uma's upcoming nuptials, Jax, Perry, and their friends set out for what is sure to be a joyous weekend full of love and laughter.

However, the atmosphere is anything but festive once they arrive at the grand Saphirian estate. The Croxfords are all on edge, and Jax begins to wonder what secrets Uma's future in-laws are hiding. Things take a turn for the worse when a man is found dead the morning after a vicious storm. With Uma's happiness at stake, Jax and her companions are determined to uncover who amongst them is a killer.

Once again, Sarah provided the perfect distraction following a rather dense sci-fi work and the insanity that is the first week of the new term. Ardent Ascension, like all of her work, was a light and breezy break from the everyday routine. Intentional or not, her references to the place where she went to college and where I still work brought a knowing smile every few pages.

Sarah does not disappoint. Another book finished in one day. I love that there is a celebration for Uma’s engagement. My favorite part of the book was when they arrived at Uma’s future in laws home and Jax says that its so nice to have made it here with no problems. Of course that is when the oddities begin. Such an enticing mystery, I totally did not see the suspected murderer coming! I recommend to those who love mystery, intrigue, unsuspecting crimes, & family drama.

Court of Mystery series books 1-9

I've thoroughly enjoyed reading this series. I'm about to go check to see if Amazon has a book 10. If not I'll start one of the other series. Highly recommend Sarah E. Burr's writing. She just draws you in with the suspense.
