The world order is collapsing. Millions on the move, refugees from the destructive forces of an overheated climate. Seas are rising as glaciers melt, wildfires ravage earth's forests and a pandemic originating in the melting arctic runs rampant across the planet. In a desperate search for a vaccine, an Irish scientist discovers hope for a cure, but also stumbles upon a secret that will change the course of civilization. The clock is ticking as plotting politicians and corrupt oligarchs edge closer to brutal suppression and open warfare, ignorant of an event that will change the future. PhoeniX ReduX is the story of how these circumstances lead to either calamity or a chance for rebirth of a society that has been cast into chaos. Their choice, actually our choice, is between a new Dark Age or another Renaissance. D.A. Borges weaves a tale in the vein of his other novels, with a cast of familiar characters, as well as unexpected newcomers, in this latest adventure. It's a story that could be torn directly from tomorrow's headlines.
As I enjoyed reading PhoeniX reduX I learned about National security, geography scientific biology and global warming all at once while remaining engaged with the story line and feeling close to the characters. The book was not only enjoyable to read but also heightened my awareness of all the effects global warming can cause. I look forward to reading more of D. A. Borges’ books.
