What could possibly go wrong? Katherine Konrad and Catriona Sinclair know they have a love made in heaven, despite one being a multi-millionaire CEO of a prestigious media outlet, and the other merely a penniless young film-maker from the backwoods of Oregon.
Still firing on all cylinders after their romantic entanglements in Heatwave and Wildfire , (published in 2020), now they must fight together to save Kat’s television company, and solve the mystery of ‘Crystal Springs’, an eldercare home where everything seems unreal, including the iced peach tea!
Set in the gritty world of Los Angeles media moguls and drug cartels, this book is a powerful stand-alone contemporary lesbian romance, but is also a must-read as the third in the series of Maggie McIntyre novels called Behind the Camera . We re-enter their world and make some new friends along the way. Kat risks losing everything, her fortune , her reputation and her future happiness in the battle for love and money, while Cat struggles to see how she can be of any help at all.
Kat and Cat are as endearing, funny and as much in love as ever. But how will they emerge at the end of a week in which Kat faces financial ruin, and Cat loses her second job in a month? Read and find out!

Kat and Cat are Back! Kat and Cat are back again in this third installment of their adventures. At home after surviving the wildfires in Oregon, the couple are on the verge of coming out publicly when things go from blissful to crisis filled. There is trouble with Kat’s company facing possible ruin and Cat is up against a mystery in her new job. Things are never quiet when these two are involved!
I really liked this sweet story. I didn’t read the second book in the series, a mistake I will remedy soon, and I feel like I missed out on quite a bit. This story was fine without having read it but it was referenced several times and it left me wondering at the excitement I missed out on. I love how in love these two incredible women are and how mushy the story sometimes gets. There are lots of lovely fade to blacks that only prove this. This book also has lots of other feels too. I worried for them when things seemed bleak, celebrated when things got better, I laughed and cried a bit, got the warm fuzzies a bunch and generally loved it all. The ending was practically perfect and left me with a happy sigh. Im sure you will agree, Kat is the Cat’s Meow!
After the way book 2 (Wildfire) in the series ended I somehow felt that Cat‘s and Kat‘s story wasn’t finished. So I was totally happy to get another book with them.
In this part Kat and Cat both fight their own battles. Kat‘s television company gets into big financial troubles because some unknown people try to make her lose her company. On the other hand Cat discovers some weird happenings in the retirement home she is filming a documentary.
Both settings totally drew me in and I wanted know what happens next. It’s a race against time and dangerous people. I won’t reveal anything about what happens next because for me this would spoil too much. But what can I say is that this story is totally worth to be read.
While I wished I would have gotten a bit more of Cat and Kat together as a couple, I got fully compensated by this wonderful and exciting story. And there are still some sweet moments of them and Kat‘s daughters together. Cat definitely becomes a full member of the Konrad family, while she struggled a bit before finding her role.
All in all this is a great exciting story that I highly recommend. The book can be totally read as a standalone. Most of all because Maggie McIntyre thought of everything and explained in short ways what happened before. Personally I still recommend to read the books in order just to get the full picture. But like I said it’s not a must.
I‘m definitely hopping for another book in this series and believe the chances are not that bad. ☺️
I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.

This was more a mystery than romance, although Kat and Cat are still the main characters and sweet as ever. Some random typos don't take away the excitement and neither do some funny British expressions, so I do recommend this book to anyone following the love story that began with Heatwave.
The love scenes in this installment are more fade to black but there's other action available instead.
This series of 3 books (I think they are best read in order) is a good age-gap romance with a complex character in Kat, and the young Cat, with her long held crush on Kat. Both characters have interesting backstories. All 3 books have another story woven through that engaged me beyond just the romance.
Wow oh my goodness I love cat and Kats love story throughout the series it has grown in strength it's a beautiful heartfelt love story.I couldn't put it down this series is my top five must read exceptionally written congratulations.
A lot of love, passion and action in this wonderful series
I enjoyed the fire and passion between Kat and Cat. They both came from meager beginnings but the media mogal Kat took the world by storm. In this book she's been completely disarmed by her love for Cat, 20 yrs her junior and an ex employee and wants to announce it to the world and come out of hiding. Together they break one of the biggest crime organizations in years. Cat has to learn to let go of the fact she doesn't come from money and learn that she has far more to give to Kat and her children than monetary things.
- [ ] Good balance of refresh on previous books without boring the reader. It isn't a finding each other romance, which most books I read are - this may have added to it feeling a fresh read for me. There is very much romance between the two mains, but there is also plot! I liked the way the plot strands wove together in both main characters separate concerns. I kept thinking there were going to be plot bombs that would lead the mains to the break up that leads to the make part of the plot arc, it was refreshing that that was not the direction the author took the book. Fresh!
Book 3 by Maggie McIntyre is just as fast paced as the first two. Still shows chemistry and love above all else. I hope that there is more to the series.
4 stars because of the style of writing just got too much with inner dialogue and excessive use of exclamations. Cat personality varied into terms bopper talk and not the educated, smart woman she is. The story line is definitely worth the read.
A really good story continuing with the romanse of Kat and Cat, their adventures. It was easier for them to form a blended family than in real life. But this was a fun read but I'm waiting with baited breathe for the next chapter hopei
I’ve now finished all three books…again! I read them when they came out and loved them. I do hope this series with Kat and Cat will continue with new adventures.
