Unexplained, Unsolved, Unsealed Mysteries of the World: Strange Disappearances, Paranormal Activities, Cold Murder Cases, Abnormal Occurrences

Rate this book
Read about strange disappearances, paranormal activities, cold murder cases and abnormal occurrences. A prowler in a weird mask appears at people’s windows. His victims wake up at night to find a sweet-smelling odor permeating their bedroom from the window. They hear hissing sounds and see the masked figure staring into their rooms, but they soon discover they are paralyzed, unable to get out of bed and protect themselves. Who is the masked prowler, and what do they want? Two ladies on a hiking expedition are never heard from again. Ten weeks later, a ball of rolled-up flesh, some discarded bones, and a severed leg still stuck in a boot are found scattered miles away from their hiking trail. A recovered camera contains a couple of weird photos, but image 509 has been manually deleted. What secret did that image hold? And who killed the cab driver that shuttled them to the trail years after their disappearance? These are all questions. Four boys discover a human skeleton stuffed in the hollow trunk of a tree. It is identified to be a woman in her thirties. 78 years later, no one knows who she was and why she was killed? Was she a victim of a dark ritual, an innocent prostitute that encountered a serial killer or a German spy that knew too much? One hundred and twelve people disappear from an island without a trace. Was it an alien invasion, massacre by the neighboring tribe, or something more sinister? Four hundred years later, the mystery remains shrouded in speculation. Before their disappearance, visiting farmers and shepherds considered it a bad omen to spend a night on that lonely island surrounded by the hostile Atlantic Ocean. After the three men vanished from the island on a stormy night, many theorized that it had been an accident. But then, who closed up all the doors and gates after their disappearance?

This really wasn't great. I have liked the authors other books but this one was not it. It's cool it was free but even then it was 2 stars.

The stories in the book are interesting but not really shocking. One is about a guy who received blows to his head and later acted paranoid and then disappeared. The paranoia could have been caused by the blows to the head. the disappearing part is hard to say what happened but it's most likely has a reasonable explanation.

There was a type of plague in 1618 in Strasbourg where people began to dance without music and continued to do so to the point of exhaustion. The book says some people died but I looked up online and whether anyone died or not has not been determined.

There's a story about a woman killed in her apartment, a place called The Devil's Tramping Ground and one about Dan Cooper, the guy who hijacked an airplane and then jumped out with the ransom. None of those stories are particularly fascinating, the Dan Cooper one being a fairly well-known story.

I thought the book would be more scary? interesting? supernatural? but it seemed to be fairly normal, albeit unpleasant things happening so it disappointed me.

An interesting compilation….

A good effort, though there would have been more stars IF the editing had been better. Double typing of words in ones bio is never a good thing.
Otherwise, the compilation was quite interesting and yes, made me wonder ‘How in the world did they just drop off the face of the earth’ and of course to pause and wonder what could have happened and perhaps where they could be. Makes one think ! The author achieved his goal - having made the reader wonder and wonder some more. Good job !

I thought this short collection was quite good. There was enough detail and depth to each story without it becoming too bogged down. Most I'd heard of at least in passing but a couple were new to me and very interesting. I thought the writing style was engaging.

Picked up on Kindle Unlimited and would read more by the author, though I do wish the book had been longer (delved into more cases).

Good but Short!

I love these books but this one was incredibly short. I finished it in about five minutes, I would’ve really like to see more stories. Also, some of the grammar errors really bothered me. I feel like an editor would’ve fixed those issues before publication.

It was short but inexpensive so that makes up for the length of the book but it wasn’t near as interesting as it seemed it would be. I skimmed through it and nothing really stood out as all that great about it.

Ok

I've heard of most of these before.
It needed some more editing.
If you haven't heard of these, you might be interested in reading.

The stories were not fleshed out, very disappointing.
AT least there were few misspelled words.
The stories could be interesting if better

Nice easy to read before bed

I like these short and concise stories and how they are written in a straightforward way. This makes the content more eerie and mysterious👤
