Net Zero: The Challenges, Costs and Consequences of the UK's Zero Emission Ambition

Rate this book
What will it take for the UK to become a net zero economy? Is it even possible? What will it cost?

This short book answers these questions by describing the challenges, the technologies and the likely costs. IT demonstrates the once certainty, that net zero will change to the UK's economy substantially.

Engagingly and clearly written, well referenced and objective - if you live or work in the UK you need to read this. If you're interested in how the rest of the world might address climate change you should read it too.

This is excellent, a short book with a lot of very useful and realistic information. Its longer title is the challenges, costs and consequences and you find that here. It seems to be a politically imposed target which is possibly not achievable or not without great cost. This does not make you a climate change denier if you want to get properly briefed. As an enforced green hero, with lights turned low or off, wearing outdoor clothes indoors because I can't meet energy costs, I wanted to know what it was about. Meanwhile the planes follow a flight path overhead and the cars whizz by.

This book is so good that it should be obligatory reading for anyone remotely interested in "net zero" and the madness of Ed Milliband et al.

I would very much like to see it brought right up to date given COP29 and impending impact of Donald Trump.
