Rate this book
I found a real Goddess today and I’m going to go the whole nine yards to keep her in my life.
BRAXTON:

I’ve been called Italian stallion, gunslinger, MVP, jock and sidow.
That last one is a combo of sibling and widow.
It was given to me by the media two years ago, after my brother died.
Losing Sterling broke me.
I feel as if I’m only working to stay alive. Not that I feel alive.
That’s until I get blindsided by a precious woman cheering in the stands and everything in me cheers back.
Simone is a game changer, but she thinks I’m a player.
I’ll show her that the only thing I’m playing for is keeps.
Nothing will stop me from tackling her heart.

SIMONE:

I’ve been called cookie, hot cakes, sugar bomb, cupcake and spice girl.
You hear it all when you work at a bakery.
I love baking, but I do not love being looked at like I’m on the menu.
Although, it’s not so bad when it’s coming from Braxton.
The man is a certified stud muffin with the best pound cake I’ve ever seen.
I know better, you can’t have your cake and eat it too.
I’d have to be half baked to think that I won’t get burned if I give him a chance.
He won’t yield and keeps bringing my body to a rolling boil
You know what they say, if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Possessive QB is a standalone romance with a HEA, no cheating and no cliffhanger.

I hated it so much.

Guys. I try hard to really not rip books to shreds anymore. Most of the time I say they just weren’t for me but I can’t with this book. I hated it. I should have DNFed it and by the time I realized it I was already so far in I was basically hate reading it.

- don’t call your book a stalker romance when he “stalks” her for approximately 12 hours. He follows her home to make sure she gets home okay, falls asleep, then follows her to see where she works the next day. This does not a stalker romance make.

- the book was AT LEAST 50% too long. NOTHING HAPPENS. They tell each other they love each other basically right away then there’s another two hours of book… with no plot. Seriously. We aren’t going to explore the assistant you hinted at is a little too intense or the mom who abandoned the heroine because of mental health issues? We’re just going to leave that right there and instead give me a super long chapter about buying a perfect engagement ring in a weird tattoo parlor? Ok, got it.

- the first 8% of the book is the biggest info dump I’ve ever seen. It was basically the hero’s entire biography that had nothing to do with anything from the time he was 5 until present day and most of it was in the tone of “look at the poor rich famous nfl player and feel sorry for him”. I should have DNFed here, I only have myself to blame.

-the side characters were excruciatingly painful to read. Their dialogue was truly mind melting. I’ve lost IQ points. Here are two examples and literally every word that comes out of the side characters mouths are like this (they also serve no purpose, like almost everything else in this book):
“Straight facts! It’s so fly, I have the vapors.”
“Girl, you gotsta take a belfie for your boo. You’ll leave him shooketh.”

- There was no dark spot. There was literally no conflict in this entire book. It kind of just drifted along. I didn’t even read the epilogue because I didn’t care. Obviously nothing was going to happen to these people.

There are so many other things I could go on and on but I’m just making myself more and more angry that I read this thing.

I checked and I’ve read one other thing from this author before and I 4 stared it. I don’t know, I think they might have to go on my never ever ever read again list. I’d like the 2.5 hours of my life back please.

This was the most immature writing I have ever seen in my life. The sex scenes was simply ridiculous and the description of words was hilarious.
I mean seriously, who names a bum, bubbly - her bubbly cheeks.
direct quote: "Braxton! Oooooh...oooh, it's yours. All. Yours!" - this is a sex scene - she goes on most of the time like this. I couldn't even finish the book. I literally read the book out of morbid curiosity to see if it improved and if the sex scenes and Simone's orgasming words improve throughout the book. Nope still the same ...
And as if this drivel was not enough, the author wrote in code between some of her characters so no-one except her will know what they are saying and she references movies, books, tv series and characters in them that if you have not seen those 'movie's, tv series, etc' you will have no bloody idea what she is talking about.
Meant to sound funny but misses the point by a mile.
Sorry AW better luck next time.

Alana Winters is a new to me author, and after reading Possessive QB, I'll totally be reading more of her in the future. Her writing style is very easy to enjoy, and this story is about a QB, and after Peyton Manning was inducted into the Hall of Fame this past weekend, my head has been all about QBs as football is my other happy place. Braxton lost his brother too soon, and since that day, he's been broken to the point that the media is labeling him silly names. Things look up for our QB when he sees a girl named Simone in the stands cheering him on, and he's determined to make her his. Simone happens to think he's a player off the field though, so it won't be quite that easy. This delightful story with a kicker of angst had an insta feel to it, but I'm okay with that because sometimes my dark world just needs some light fun for a break. Anyway, now it's your turn to experience it for yourselves so hit those one click buttons! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Braxton is not in a good head space as QB a lot is expected of him, he see simone at his game wearing his name and fall instantly. They have an connection and he has a different side with her and she is so sweet and very much about her family. This was a good read, with amazing characters it has love, jealousy and growth.

He was a mess, emotionally and professionally, and one glance at her in the stands brought the sunshine back into his life. He came on strong but the chemistry was undeniable on both sides. HEA guaranteed.

Braxton and Simone

This story is definitely an fast paced, insta-love story with a OTT alpha hero. If that is not your cup of tea, then don't read this book. Now if you love insta-love, a quick progression of a relationship, and a alpha hero, this book is for you. I really enjoyed reading about Braxton and Simone. Braxton had been struggling mentally since the death of his brother and the effects that his fame played in the after effects of his brothers death. He felt no purpose and motivation to play football or really anything at all. He was merely existing until he spotted Simone in the stands at one of his games. As soon as he saw her, he felt his whole world re-center, and found he had a purpose again. He was completely captivated by her and was willing to do whatever he had to do to make her his for the rest of their lives. This was a fun, engaging, and easy to read story. This was a new author for me, but I will definitely be reading more from her in the future.

I love insta sports romance. This one started soooo well. The first chapter and his back story were excellent. There was a great foundation for exploring the connection.

But then it just became ridiculous. He sees her in the stand and his life changes - seriously! He is in love.

Next up in the middle of a game as a QB he leaves the game and climbs into the stand where he actually mishandled her in front on everyone no one stops him. Yeah the NFL is going to love that. And then locks her in some kind of hospitality box that is empty during the game (!) and again mistreats her. No repercussions.

The football knowledge is soooo lacking and the laziness to use Google is just bad.

And then of there are all the in jokes and comments which the author must I assume have added in for her friends?! So rude to other readers.

If this is the kind of love we should aspire to singledom just got a new fan.

OK I received this book free under a different name. It was a stocker romance.. now just to kind of understand how I rate books 3 isn’t bad it’s decent it’s not one that will live rent free in my head but needless to say the story was OK I don’t like bashing authors just because I may or may not connect with the story I volunteered to read this it had portions that I really enjoyed some. I was completely annoyed with and well I understand books are works of fiction. I also will give leeway to a troop that I am reading because I know it’s going to be completely out of the room of normal I think this book had amazing potential, and maybe with a few tweaks, this could be off the charts hot parts of it felt extremely rushed even for an Insta love story I did enjoy it give it a chance

good in theory I guess

Oh man. When instalove is written well, it’s great. This one just wasn’t. I liked the overall theme of the quarterback spotting the heroine in the stands while he’s playing and knowing she’s the one. Even liked him charging into the stands at the next game when he sees her get kissed by someone else. But he tells her he loves her here…and it’s only their third time seeing each other. But a first date that involves tattooing her name and wedding rings on his chest? And then there’s all the weird sex, something with Game of Thrones costumes…needless to say, not my favorite.

TOUCHDOWN!

Braxton scores the best touchdown of his life finding his precious Simone. This is a hot, steamy romance with Braxton, a possessive star QB and a sexy, hot baker who loves going to games with her father so she can ogle Braxton. As soon as Braxton sees Simone, he's a goner. This story is ghost pepper hot! Feel the steam!

Good story, love supporting characters.

Love the quirky references. My favorite “It’s going to get your skittles diddled until you can taste the rainbow.” Also appreciate the clear references to places in Hawaii (since that’s where I live). Love Apollo.

This was a touchdown for me!

I read the ARC version and really enjoyed it even though it had a few issues. I went to read it again and saw that it was an improved version. I liked it the first time but loved it the second time. The friends were so fun that I wanted more of them.

Braxton review

I felt like the story was rushed and hard to follow at times. The timeframe of Braxton and Simone’s story was a bit nuts with meeting and falling in love in a week and then engaged??
Also what happened to her “friend” Rose and neighbour? Nothing came of that.

Everything that could go wrong with this book, went horribly wrong. I’ve read a couple of short stories and this is by far the worst one.

I actually didn't really enjoy this book, everything moved fast, and there was no overcoming, and I think it was very 'You will listen to me' vibes from the male lead.

I love a fast paced love story, and even more when you throw in a hot alpha who has the "mine and only mine" attitude about his love interest. This is an easy read that allows you to escape for a little while. I especially loved the grown up version of the Cinderella Story kiss. Sexy QB leaves the game to climb into the stands to get to his woman? Yes please. This was my first read from Alana Winters, and it won't be my last. I really enjoyed this one.

This was unrealistic and over the top. I like an Insta love story as much as the next.. but really???
Braxton see's Simone at one of his games and immediately falls in love... Ok it happens alot in these type of stories that I usually enjoy but this one was not for me and I wanted to finish it but I literally was laughing throughout the book. There was missing information and the story jumped around too much to the point that there was missing information. When Simone invites a neighbor to Braxton's game and the kiss cam spots them.... really, Braxton the QB leaves the game and climbs into the stands to rescue her and there are no repercussions I was done at that point! This couple was young and it didn't make sense to me being how much I LOVE FOOTBALL AND SPORTS ROMANCES! I wanted to give it a chance. There were some references to a movie or TV show that made no sense at all and I continued to trudge along determined to finish this book. I have never given a review like this before, but as much as an insta-love book is over the top, his one had me rolling my eyes the whole time, putting it down and picking it up later.. did not hold my attention as it jumped around too much. It was weird and they were awkward!

I love insta sports romance. This one started soooo well. The first chapter and his back story were excellent. There was a great foundation for exploring the connection and there was a good starting point for a wider story with the cast of additional characters.

But it was ridiculous. He sees her in the stand and his life changes - seriously?! He is in love.

And then he locks her in some kind of hospitality box that is empty during the game (!) and again he comes over all weird and gropes her. No repercussions.

Let's leave alone a GQ cover worthy QB sleeping in his car in front of her house on the first night they met. Yep.

The football knowledge is soooo lacking and the laziness to use Google is just bad.

Then of there are all the in jokes and comments which the author must have added in for her friends?! So rude to other readers.

I will come straight up, I did not like it at all. It may definitely be in someone's favorites, it just wasn't for me. It started with Braxton's tragic story (the QB from the title) which was promising. But that was it. Just in the next chapter, he sees someone from afar and that's all it takes, he is in love. In the first meeting with Simone, he is professing love and spouting poetry. I am not against the concept of instant love, but it just came off as ridiculous here. I glossed over the text a lot to finish the story.

It wasn't all without merits, when Braxton mentioned his epic fails at picking gifts for people, one instance cracked me up-he had gotten his best friend who was a tattoo artist, a gift certificate for tattoo removals, lol. It had references to Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones as well, both series that I treasure, and which normally would have excited me, here it just made me roll my eyes.

Braxton is a quarterback who falls in love with Simone at first sight. He reminds me of the Tsundere character popular among the anime followers: cold, aloof and curt to everyone, but becomes soft, loving and caring to the person he cares about. It is endearing to read someone like Braxton to be a little insecure in the words he says and actions he does in front of Simone. Simone, on the other hand, is youthful and charming. Yet, she is loyal to her family and kind.

What I like about the story is that it is fast-paced and HEA. The jealousy moments are there, but the main characters are assured of their love for each other. And, of course, the steamy scenes are soooooooo hot! hot! hot!

I liked the premise of this book. The main characters are well introduced and you feel a connection. But, the story flow is disjointed at times and confusing. I know it’s an Insta-love but given the issues both characters have, for Braxton to ravage Simone the way he does on their third meeting is a little much. Some of the language used by lesser characters is also confusing but I think that is trying to convey their background/ethnicity and quirkiness. The passion scenes are good but in some cases the description used is awkward and hard to read. Overall, I liked it and did read to the end but it could use a little editing and finessing.

This is a new author to me, but I will most certainly be looking out for her work in the future. Braxton is a QB who is broken by his brother’s death, and from the moment he spots Simone cheering in the stands, he is instantly drawn to her, as she is with him. This is a good and enjoyable story, which is a entertaining, emotionally charged, and a intriguing tale. I look forward to reading more from this author, and as I stated before, I will be looking out for her work in the future. The only downside, in my opinion only, that I struggled to engage with the characters, and the story was a tad disjointed.

Braxton is not in a good place, then Simone comes into his world and it starts to feel right again. His feelings for her hit him hard and he has to try and hold on to his caveman tendencies where she is concerned, and he is not always successful! I thought they were good together and I liked the love and respect shown between them. His friends added a little wacky and a little fun to their story and any angst came from the outside and not from them. It was a little OTT in places but I enjoyed reading it.

This book just moved way too fast for me. They met at a game, he notices her from the field in the stands (ummmm ok??), then it's dinner and I love you. He also was a bit to stalkerish for me with sleeping outside her house and the first night they met.

Everything just moved very quickly, the met and got engaged within like a week. It was just a bit too much. And I don't understand why her friends turned on her so quick.

If you love possessive alpha males, this man is definitely it. He was Possessive with a capital P. Hello, office when he saw her on the jumbo screen.

A love at first sight for Braxton when he spies Simone from afar. An OTT romance that is at full speed ahead once Braxton makes his intentions known to Simone. Liked his friendship with Ava and Freya, too wild characters that really have no boundaries, but are definitely the best kind of people to be friends. I liked Braxton’s devotion to Simone that once he makes a promise, he fully follows through. A fantastic ending as this couple open up to each other and live the life they want.

Braxton is struggling after the death of his younger brother and with finding purpose in his life despite being a professional quarterback. All that changes when he sees Simone at the game and she's wearing his jersey! He is not going to let her go no matter what. Simone may think he is way out of her league but Braxton is going to do everything he can to prove she belongs with him. I must say I loved his friends. They were so funny and only added to the story. Great story by Alana Winters!
