DON'T WORRY, DADDY'S GOT YOU!
The story is the third in this series and will revolve around two main characters, Charlotte "Charlie" McGee and Sam Mason. Sam and Charlie are living in the foreman's smaller house while having major renovations done on the main house. I would recommend reading these books in their written order because it is an ongoing saga—and there is more to come.
The story's plot continues with Sam and Charlie's relationship and plans mainly restored from the damage done by Vicky, who is now gone. Charlie is working on her Doctorate and still helping around the ranch some. But, she has a habit of forgetting her phone, a rule that doesn't just apply to her but to everyone who works at the ranch. Her forgetting her cellphone, a rainy winter storm, and being where she wasn't supposed to be will set this tale in motion. It's dark; the farmhands have left; Charlie's horse, Carousel, comes back to the barn riderless, sending Sam into a panic. Getting in his truck, he must find his little girl—and when he does, he isn't happy with what he sees—she isn't where she belongs, helping a cow, and taking a severe risk.
The Daddy Dom/little girl relationship between Sam and Charlie was her suggestion, but for them, it works. She needs his control, dominance, and discipline—he is stable for her, and in her crumbling world, that is important. Sometimes, Charlie is too forgetful, like not taking her phone with her when it comes to obeying. The story will have several punishments and intense sex scenes between this couple. The Daddy/little girl dynamic is mainly used during these scenes.
The story will have Sam finding Charlie, helping her with the cow, cutting his hand on barbed wire, becoming soaking wet with icy rain, and a combination of exhaustion, fear, and anger will all cumulate. Yes, Charlie will be punished harshly, but Sam doesn't go overboard. He is trying to instill in her the importance of following safety rules—and not having her phone breaks one of his rules. When Sam becomes critically ill, not just a cold, but a serious enough situation that lands Sam in the hospital. It is a wake-up call for these two, they know they love each other, there has been talking of marriage, and maybe now it is time to make a more serious commitment to one another. When Sam returns home, it will be to undiscussed changes. Charlie made new decisions, altering the order of things on the ranch and keeping it a secret.
Charlie: I started to think about what would have happened, and I realized I can't really see my future without you in it.
Sam: There's nothing wrong with having practical reasons for it too, as long as the main one is I love you, and you love me.
Overall, I think we have witnessed a relationship of strengths and weaknesses, growing together, making plans for the future—and while many of the projects are for the ranch—making plans for their lives together is essential. I’m looking forward to reading the next book.

A simply wonderful addition to this series of books
This has been a simply wonderful read and I do not want to spoil the read for others so will do my upmost to ensure that nothing too important is being given away spoiling the story for future readers, there is simply nothing worse than when this happens.
Charlie has scarred the life out of her Daddy when she failed to turn up on the night of the storm as she had been trying to rescue a cow over ten time her size, when her daddy had discovered her, he had soundly punished her to ensure that this never happened again.
When Sam is taken ill after he was out in the rain rescuing his naughty little it made him very unwell and she was left having to take responsibility for the operation of many of the daily chore which was a great responsibility for her.
This is a wonderful read and I am sure that you like me will find this to be an engaging read.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

I love Sam & Charlie! As far as I'm concerned we can have the series continue until they are both old, wrinkly, and hopefully, kinky!
Sam & Charlie are happy with their life following the turbulent times they had in the previous book in the series. Charlie still gets herself into trouble on a regular basis and Sam needs to keep her in line. A major health scare creates changes in their dynamic and decisions that were put on hold need to be made... As always, I enjoyed the story telling from both of Charlie & Sam's point of view. I love seeing how the same events are perceived and told from both perspectives. This is very unique to Kessily Lewel's writing and it makes her stories very engrossing and rich in details.
We have a promise of another kinky couple that will be added to the series, and I can't wait to meet Nick & Katie!

This is a second chance love story and one that is worth reading. Outside interference caused them to break up but eventually they realized what had happened and they find their way back to each other. Sam and Charlie share a D/s relationship and it is explosive and plays a big part of their story. There is a lot going on in their lives and that makes for an excellent read. I would highly recommend this book.

Normally, I do not like a series of books centered on the same characters. This is the third book about Charlie and Sam, and it just keeps getting better. Each book has left me with a warm fuzzy feeling without any cliffhangers. Charlie's choices cause serious safety concerns that require Sam to develop a punishment that Charlie will never forget. Charlie never thought that her actions could also put Sam at risk.

Sam is one protective man and Charlie can't help but get herself in trouble which means consequences. But this time, Sam is gets taken ill and Charlie has to deal with that consequence. I love reading about their life together and how they connect, their passion and their happiness.

This Book Three in the Daddy Takes the Reins series is every bit as good, if not better than, the first two. While it is a part of a continuing series in the life and developing relationship of Sam and Charlie it can easily be read as a stand-alone story. This time around the challenge they have to overcome centers around health issues with Sam that result in an extended hospital stay. Sam is Charlie’s “Daddy” as well as her business partner, lover, and mentor. Can she step up and keep the ranch, the staff and herself running smoothly and efficiently in his absence? Sam is no “Little”, but she loves the kink, and she is an intelligent woman working on her Doctorate degree, but is she ready to take the reins? As always in this series the spankings (and there are lots of them) range from mild to severe disciplines as well as good girl ones that lead to mind blowing sex. The sex is graphically and erotically described in exquisite detail. Believe me when I say that absolutely nothing is left to the imagination! With a lovely ending that is no cliff-hanger, it is still obvious there is more to come and perhaps with an expanded set of characters. I can’t wait!!

I did enjoy this book which continues there story and I love how it never gets old or predictable.
I like Sam's dominant Daddy side which tries to tame Charlie but ultimately she can't help but find trouble.
This story is fairly touching and I am glad they were able to come together after everything they have experienced.

I quite enjoyed this romance with the Daddy Dom kink added to the story. Sam and Charlie (Charlotte) share ownership of a ranch and they are equals in pretty much every way except for their personal lives when Charlie does something wrong. I really liked their personalities, how they interacted with others on the ranch, and how they supported each other. There were some steamy moments, but actually had an enjoyable plot separate from the romance. Overall, a well-written story with wonderful characters and world-building.

This book was a pleasant surprise, as I thought the series was done with book two. But all three books can be read as standalones. Book three is kind of like the continuing escapades of a brat and her daddy, a sexy cowboy Dom.

Sam and Charlie run her family ranch. It might be her legacy, but Sam is the boss. he is her partner and Daddy Dom. Since her father's death, they have worked flat out to ensure success. She has a fear of losing him and when he falls ill she has to take over even though she's scared. She knows when he recovers her butt will pay for any mistakes she makes while he's gone. Luckily for her, they both enjoy her punishments, even when harsh.

Kessily Lewel is new author for me but the premise for Keeping His Brat really got my attention. I loved the chemistry between Charlie and Sam. Charlie just can't seem to keep from getting into trouble but the night of a storm, she takes it too far. She doesn't return home to the ranch leaving Sam terrified that she was injured or worse. Charlie will definitely regret making Sam worry after her punishment is over. But what happens when Sam falls sick and Charlie has to take control? 5 stars!

I loved book 3 of Charlie and Sam's story. I loved all the books. I think this one the most. It opened my eyes to a lot of things. 2022 is a long time for a continuation. Lol The book is full of spankings, hot sex and lots of love. Ms. Lewel knows how to make you pant and want more. I was squirming right along with Charlie. A special bond is formed between a Dom and sub. Her characters really show that.

I love Charlie and Sam. They are a good, solid couple and they both have a good sense of what the other needs. This book explores the depth of an established relationship and how both people need to learn to lean on each other. This was a good wrap up to a great love story.

Too much spanking, not enough romance
Choose this rating because I love the storyline, but sometimes the "rehashing " from one chapter to the next is too drawn out and redundant. Also it seems that Sam finds any petty reason to punish Charlie and the severity borders on abuse.

This is another great read it’s well written and developed and flows smoothly throughout the pages. The characters are engaging and well developed with plenty of chemistry throughout the pages.

Extra spicy. Enjoyed the plot, but I am finding the back and forth viewpoint, going back and forth in time is a bit obnoxious and I am not a huge fan of rereading events every single chapter.

I really enjoyed this story! I love this series. I loved the interactions between Sam and Charlie. This novel really cemented their relationship. They grow closer together. Sam must discipline Charlie after she puts herself at risk. It’s not his favorite thing to do but Charlie needs it. Will they keep going closer?
