The last one hasn’t led me into hot water just yet, but it’s only a matter of time. Capturing the formerly superpowered diva known as Phenomenon has set the clock to ticking.
Before it runs out, I need to figure out what to do with her. She has knowledge far beyond anything my team has, and I want her to help me.
The question is: will she do it?
If she doesn’t, Unity might just find themselves destroyed before they barely had the chance to shine.
Loving this series! So, we have various new powers and a whole plan on how to take the current regime down. I really like seeing the plans the team are coming up with.
This was another fun entry in this series, and finished out the current arc against Pinnacle. The ending hints at bigger and wider plotlines to come.
The gathering of more powers, and the *ahem* recruiting of more members of Unity was well done as always. There felt like there were some serious stakes in this one, between the city, the firm, and Phenomenon - it felt like things could really go poorly, even though we knew that Dean was going to survive.
The interactions with the aussies, the super powered battles - it was all very enjoyable. It's not high literature; they're not going to be analyzing the nuances of this work in fifty years, but it was fun. And for escapism fantasy, can you really ask for more?
This series continues to be just interesting enough to keep knee reading it. The problem for me it's that the harem team of violent heroes keeps expanding and losing focus on the original characters. In college, i would have thoroughly enjoyed this series. Now, more depth would be nice. For fans of The Boys, this series is worth the read. The super hero tale has moments of complexities and self centered antagonists creating a cast of characters easy to dislike and root for the sort of good alternative anti heroes.
I thought the last book was full of battles combat running and gunning et cetera. And then this book happened. Wow. Can't complain it was all good fun. Cranked up the heat in this one. Went for the big bad. Even the booty calls we're in high gear, quick and dangerous. High stakes, big rewards. And winner take all if you can survive. Love this book. Seriously enjoying this series. Looking forward to the next book. And thanks To the author for finally putting some spin on the powers.. how, what, where, and why. Somewhat.
Ok, that was waaaaaayyy more action than I’m used to in this series. I’ve got a new crease in my rear from sitting in the edge of my seat for more than half the book, and it was worth it. Dante King juggled so many moving pieces and left not a single plot hole I can think of. Well Done. The series can easily end here without a big need for a 4th, BUT, I really really want a 4th book and more to see how Unity handles the new landscape.
hood tale thru three books but it’s tainted to a sort
Itt to s a good like books 1 and 2. But it took about being 3/4 thru book three to see what was missing. There no sort of emotional union to Unity. And it’s has been just all bland. And sorry but requiring Patreon support to actually like hold readers hostage demanding reviews and money for a series to continue. WTF. That’s just shallow.
I thought granddad silver invented supers! Patriot seems like a big dummy, phenomenon ruled by ego and psyche is unhinged, but in charge. Maybe one of the new girls can pass supers to guys? Two more needs uniforms or will one be undercover? I think phenom had a uniform.
No, that is not true, it is just beginning. No idea where it will go, but I intend to join the ride. Please, please continue this awesome story. #3 was the best one yet. Oh, I could complain a little about some aspects, but why bother trying to make sense out of something that you don't understand?
Just read this and live for another day, er story.
Again Wildcard and crew are taking things in stride. More fights, more twists, more fun with the ladies. All in all just another Tuesday for Unity. Fun read can't wait to see where the trail leads with this one.
A lot if action in this book but also quite a bit of revelations. Like where the story is going. Would like a little more downtime with the Mc and his women though. Looking forward to the next book.
In my opinion everything this author writes is a joy to read!!! His stories and series are full of humor, adventures and fun adult fantasy activities that will keep you waiting for the next book!!! I really want to know what comes next !!!
Pinnacle is corrupt as hell. Unity is only a very small group of supers and a band of drunken Australian lunatics. And then, there are the zombies and the megalomaniacal , self proclaimed Dungeon Master. Where will Dante King take us next?
Killer cyborg zombies, mutant like tuxedo wearing supervillains, conspiracies fast paced bloody and brutal combat, super powers and a growing harem of super powered hotties can this series get any better? 10/10
Dean, better known as wildcard now is finally coming into his own now. With more supers willing to join him and helping to do serious battle with their enemies.
Look, I get it. OP MC who’s never on his back leg, always gets the girls, always saves the day. Typical for stories in this genre. But this guy is truly annoying. He’s stuck up, and doesn’t take advice from anyone, and burns any bridge he comes across unless it’s a woman. He’s willing to start a war with the government (who are actually the good guys here, work with his dad, and supplied him with resources and a safe house) over a woman who him and all but one of his companions wanted dead. And the reason the author gave for this change in heart was flimsy at best. If it were a man, he’d be dead or tortured in an instant. Some of the other women are pushed to the background; the author doesn’t do a good job juggling so many characters. Honestly I want to read this for fun and not really think about all of that, but the arrogant MC really turns me off from finishing this book. If you’re looking for a mindless read then maybe this is for you. This series really just seems like some wannabe alpha-male putting pen to paper and voicing his grievances at the world.
He did it again. Definitely wrote a story to keep you interested. You just want to keep on reading to find out what happening next. Now to get the next one.
Second read: Woah I didn't notice the level of machismo the story was drown in. Hilarious, stupid and I totally glossed over it on my first read through. The real superheroes are the people that clean up after the cast of characters.
