The first of its kind , The Language of Fungi and Flowers is a unique poetry collection for poetry lovers and nature lovers alike. It is a collection of poetry that explores the symbolic expressiveness of both mushrooms and flowers and is complete with vibrant and beautiful illustrations done by the author herself. This poetry collection is a perfect gift for anyone who loves nature and poetry, dreams of flower fields, and enjoys finding mushrooms on their nature adventures. It's a poetry collection that is relatable, filled with love, life, and meaning. There's really nothing else quite like it. " a book that beckons you into nature " - Kim Rashidi (Author of Fortunate) " Obsessed is an understatement!! " - Katerina Rivera (Co-owner of Infused Karma)
The Language of Fungi and Flowers. I don’t know how to better describe this collection than by giving you its name. This collection is the perfect book to show someone that loves nature. I’ve even thought about recommending it to my stepfather, who studies botany. I’m simply someone that loves to look at beautiful things.
This collection had so much range throughout each poem. Some marveled in each fungi’s or flower’s beauty, while some felt deeply personal to the writer, while other poems felt familiar to me as a reader.
I don’t know how to convey my thoughts in a review for this, probably because I've never reviewed a collection of poems. But, the structure, vocabulary, and emotion fit perfectly in each verse. I learned so much about flowers, fungi, and myself through this.
I'm very grateful I was given a chance to read this beautiful collection. It feels like the author gave us a piece of herself to find a part of ourselves.
Thank you to @ for sending me this. I will cherish it forever.
I immediately recommended this to a friend because I couldn’t keep these sweet poems to myself. “The Language of Fungi & Flowers” is refreshing and comforting. Each page has illustrations of mushrooms and flowers that the author expresses beautifully. This one has my heart and it will be picked up again. 💗🍄
I picked up this book so many times to read it, but ultimately kept putting it off until I knew I had a hard day. And while I am sorry I didn’t read it sooner, I’m glad I did. I went up the mountain, and read this book, and felt closer to nature. Flo has such a way with words, and I absolutely loved the book. Perspective (and other poems) really set the bar high, and The language of fungi and flowers met and exceeded that bar.
Reading this collection felt like sifting through a bouquet and discovering each and every meaning behind their arrangement. I envisioned a large ensemble of wildflowers and mushrooms wrapped together in ivy and hemp cord. This is a lovely collection to have on one's shelf and a delicately deliberate way to be a little closer to mother nature.
Nope, still don't have a fav flower. Roses still remain up there. Morning glories rising. Somehow sunflowers went down. And lilies skyrocketed up. I do know now though that my fav mushrooms might be the blue-green anise mushroom and the western amethyst laccaria
