Definitely a good book for beginners, however, the vocabulary isn't beginner friendly and requires one's ability to already be familiar with psychological terminologies. The book dwells into the topics of dark psychology and manipulation on a surface level and lacks depth in my opinion but provides a moral and ethical aspect for the reader at the end of every topic in order to make sure one doesn't use it as a way to manipulate others rather as a way to protect oneself from such individuals or organisations that are trying to manipulate.

When I started reading this book, I found the beginning a bit confusing. The topics and chapters don’t feel very well-structured at first, which makes it harder to stay fully engaged. However, as you move forward and dig deeper into the content, the book becomes more interesting.

The book mainly focuses on mindset — how we think, how we plan mentally, and how our thoughts affect both ourselves and others. It explains certain steps that can help you understand a person’s behavior, read their mindset, and recognize psychological patterns in people.

From my personal perspective, this book can be helpful if you’re interested in understanding human behavior or how people think and react. That said, I found the concepts quite complicated, and it’s not an easy read. You’ll need patience and focus to fully grasp what the author is trying to explain.

My suggestion:
If you want to explore how people’s behavior and mindset work, you can give this book a try — just be prepared, because it’s complex and not very beginner-friendly.

I was bring manipulated by someone who had being convinced if I just did a little more he wouldn't be do hard on me. I broke free. This book comes recommended by a friend. "Dark Psychology" by Amy Brown delves into advanced manipulation tactics, exploring the darker aspects of human psychology with a focus on power, control, and influence. The book covers techniques like gaslighting, emotional manipulation, and covert persuasion, providing a deeper understanding of how these strategies can be used and defended against. While it offers useful insights, its focus on advanced methods makes it more suitable for readers with prior knowledge of psychological manipulation.

First Few chapters are boring. In this part sentance and writing style seems off. Later chapters are intresting. Even for a small book below 200 pages, same things are repeated instead of diving deep into it. Editor missed lots of typos like open " without closing and other errors. Some sentences failed to convey the meaning. Book brushes those reader who already read some works on this topic. It's like conversation with an expert in the field. But the expert failed to engage the reader due to poor conveying and lack of depth, tone, editing, images. IT'S NOT THAT DARK.

"Dark Psychology Secrets & Manipulation" by Amy Brown had the potential to be an insightful read, given the range of topics covered. However, where it fell short was the language. The awkward sentence structures, grammatical errors, and overall poor writing made it difficult to take the book seriously. It felt as though the author hadn’t put in the necessary effort to refine the text. While the subject matter is intriguing, the execution leaves much to be desired.

The first half feels like the author repeatedly trying to justify why dark psychology should be understood—and occasionally used.

The second half is more informative, though it often slips into rambling observations rather than structured insight. A very short read, but overall, not a particularly strong or memorable one.

"Why didn’t I read this book earlier?" - that’s honestly the first thing that came to my mind after finishing Dark Psychology Secrets & Manipulation. Among all the books I’ve read on psychology and behavior, this one really stood out in terms of practical value.

The book dives deep into behavioral psychology, deception, brainwashing, manipulation, NLP, and other psychological tactics that people often use, knowingly or unknowingly. What I genuinely appreciated was how clearly these concepts were explained, even for someone not from a psychology background. But what made the second half of the book even more powerful was the section on how to protect yourself from such manipulation. That part is something I’d recommend to everyone, especially in today’s emotionally manipulative world. I even made quick revision notes for it because there’s so much in it worth remembering.

That said, the book isn’t perfect, some chapters feel unnecessarily stretched, and there are moments where the writing lacks polish or has minor grammatical flaws. It doesn’t read like an academic book or something extremely “professional,” but if you can look past that, it has a lot of insight.

In short: If you’re someone who wants to understand human behavior, protect your emotional boundaries, and grow mentally stronger, this is definitely worth your time :)
