Ashwood Wolves #3

Wolf Protector

Rate this book
Being an Alpha sucks. I would know, I just sporadically became one.
Well, okay, no, I murdered for the title. Still, it wasn't really planned.
But now I'm stuck trying to help repair a broken Pack and come to terms with my own trauma. Not to mention we've got deserters who may just want to kill me. That's always fun.
So with the help of some close loved ones, I need to navigate these new waters and deal with a looming threat of attack. Fingers crossed I can be the Alpha I need to be.

This is an incredible series! So much emotion, action, pain, and intense romance throughout, Love of Wolves was the perfect conclusion to the series. The majority of the book followed Taylor as she tried to get used to being Alpha while also keeping her pack safe from some of their own packmates, those that still wanted to follow the old Alpha's rules. Her love with a wolf from her new pack blossomed. Especially when she didn't get to spend as much time with her three boys from her father's pack. There were a lot of intense moments and a lot of healing required after (both physically and mentally), but I enjoyed the fact the author showed those vulnerable moments as Taylor and her boys tried to piece her life back together and feel "normal" again. And the ending was too precious! I highly recommend the Ashwood Wolves series!

*Spoiler Alert* Taylor's life has changed dramatically from the first book. She has to settle back into pack life, start make changes in this pack, make time for a new mate & track down (with the help of Dad, Aunt & Fellas) rogue wolves. That have taken hostages & have threatened her. Taylor has been a strong MC in subsequent books & she doesnt disppoint in this one either. Im sad this is the last book in the trilogy. Not because it was a bad book. On the contrary it was a great series of books & i loved reading them

*** No Spoilers ***

There is dark themes with rape, so this book could be a trigger.
Amazing ending for this series! J.E. does a fantastic job on bring everything together for the final book. I am extremely satisfied with the ending. Ty and her guys still have a lot to over come in this book. I did do some crying reading this book. I could feel everything Ty was going through.
I recommend this book/series!

Oh WOW, I ended up finishing this book in one sitting. I could not put it down. From the moment that I started I was taken away to another world, that was not going to let me go until I finished the last page. It moved along at a great pace which was neither too fast nor too slow. Has amazing characters that you will fall in love with and a story that will not let you down. This book is a must read no doubt about it. I look forward to reading more from this amazing author.

3.5 This is the 3rd and final book in this series a way choose shifter romance with a strong female main character i enjoyed the series it definitely got darker as it progressed and at times I felt like it was a little repetitive but I liked the outcome and really liked all the main characters. again like book 2 I was grateful for the trigger warning that included which chapter they would appear on so I could be prepared for them

too much bad scenes

Honestly all the rap.e was too much first off we didn’t need to see it and second off the last time it happened didn’t need to happen for the story to progress. Also how is this girl suppose to be an alpha if she willingly just goes into a house she knows she will be rap.ed in. Wish I never read this series it was extremely disappointing.

Amazing trilogy!

I don't usually enjoy trilogies or series because I lose interest after the 1st or 2nd book. Loved that the main characters were relatable even though they were werewolves. I love this genre and the author kept me hooked until the very end!

Good book & series

I love Taylor. And all her guys. From Jaye to Scott to Nathan & Ray. I think it's great that she was able to follow her dream as well as being Alpha and a mom.

I'm sad to see Taylor and her guys' story finally come to a conclusion. It has been a rollercoaster of a ride. When first beginning this series, I didn't expect to it take any sort of darker path, so please if you plan on reading this series, be sure to read the trigger warnings that JE Cluney provides in the beginning of the book as well as in the chapter headings in the particular chapters that contain triggering scenes.

Straight from the first page of this series you can immediately tell how strong of a woman Taylor is. Physically she can outwit and outpower many of those in her pack even without her wolf, but after book two and this final book, you really get to see her mental and emotional strength being displayed as well. Taylor has gone through an experience that a lot of women or men can't come back from. What I loved about Taylor is that even though she had trauma and ptsd/flashbacks of what happened with Richard, she still pushed through and tried her best to be what her pack needed as she started her new reign as Alpha. A true Alpha puts the pack first and even though she was still adjusting to what happened and to her new role, she still stood strong and protected her pack.

After all of the problems, harm, and danger within the pack, I'm glad that Taylor, Ray, Nathan, Jaye, and Scott got their happy ending. Taylor seemed to get everything that she always wanted and maybe even something she didn't expect to ever want. However, I kind of wanted a bit more from Taylor. Yes, the complications with her role and her mates came out all well and dandy, but I was really hoping that something different would happen with her Alpha role. Even though she was only Alpha for a short period of time and under a moment of duress, she seemed to do so well in how she communicated with the pack and the decisions she made. I was really hoping that would continue on, especially since there were so many comments from the guys throughout the series about how she approached situations like an Alpha would.

The new addition to the harem was a very welcome one. I already liked Ray's character and how well he took care of Taylor in the previous book, so I'm very happy to see that they were able to make everything work out with the entire group with no issues as there were already so many other problems going on around them. I don't think I would have been able to handle relationship issues with everything else going on as well.

Nothing against the epilogue that Cluney provided us, because it did tie up ends and give us a sweet and loving ending, but I really would have loved a chapter or short scene of the bonding ceremony between Taylor and her guys. That was one thing I was looking forward to while reading and I was sad that we didn't get to experience that amazing moment with them. Cluney, if you ever do a bonus epilogue or something when you combine all three of these books into an omnibus, I would absolutely love it if you added this in there. Thank you for a great series!!

**Trigger Warning --abuse and rape-- please make sure you read the trigger warning because this may not be your cup of tea or you can skip over the chapter.

So here is the final book in this series. Let me just say that this is a great series by JE Cluney. So here we pick up from where we left off in book two with Taylor. So we know that she is now the alpha of her pack since she took out Richard. Which you know there will be some resistance but hopefully manageable right. Now I know there is a lot that she is going through and it is not easy for her. She is doing good and then the shoe drops. Now as we read the story we see her constantly telling herself that it is for the pack and so on. Then she has all these plans for the pack to get them current. So it is like she is on the fence about being the alpha. That is just my opinion. At some point I thought she was being selfish wanting to put her needs above everyone. I understood that she wants to be a huntress but there could have been other choices. However she had a great group of men to help her through it all. Even though all this happens to her at the age of eighteen. Lets not forget that her wolf also added one more to her harem. I can't say that the seggsy scenes weren't hot because lets face it, IT WAS. Now the ending was perfection. I loved it and was happy that we got to see them all happy.

Wow! I just love J.E. Cluney's Writing! ***Please Take Note Of The Triggers! ***
There are some very dark scenes in this book. So read with caution.

This Book picks up where book two left off with Taylor now Alpha of her own Pack. And her Father ans Aunt are trying to help as best they can.. I really thought that it was going to be a little bit of a Fluffy book to kind of tie everything up...but boy was I wrong.. we did get some of that..but as Taylor and her guys deal with her new role and her wanting to still be a huntress...then the fact we get a new love 🥰 ...I do love the way that J E writes about conflict and all of the issues that were going on. I think she did a fantastic job with the way she handled it...lol ( that was hard to say without giving anything away) the ending was AWESOME! I loved it even though I am sadly going to miss these characters. This was a FANTASTIC series! I throughly enjoyed reading it! I highly recommend it for those who love darker ( for triggers ) paranormal reverse harem romance.

Captivating Conclusion!
Wow this one keeps you wondering what’s going to happen right till the very last chapter! 😲
With Taylor defeating Richard in the last one you wondered what else could come her way, but Cluney throws Tay right back into danger and the thick of things in this final book.
She has to really overcome the trauma she went through and rely on her lovers, family and friends (both old and new) to support her in becoming the new alpha of this pack. She has high hopes for them but some are not willing to let go of the old ways. 😖
Sadly the new threat is just as despicable as Richard so make sure you take note of the trigger warnings - this is certainly a darker series!
But thankfully Tay has the support of her now four men, who cherish her and make her realise what happened is not on here or her fault - a truly powerful message 👏🏻👏🏻
She truly gets the HEA she deserves in the end with her men and her dreams 😍

JE Cluney really knows how to close off an exciting series with a satisfying last book that has you captivated and flicking through the pages very quickly. This was a great ending to this intense series, however, like everyone else states be aware of the trigger warning and only read if you can handle this. I loved reading the progression of the MCs in this series and I think you really see the strength and light shining in Taylor in this last book. It is sad to see her story come to an end but I am sure that we will get glimpses of these character in other series that this talented author will release. This is defiantly a series that I will read again and still enjoy.

The book was well written and the characters are great. I just didn't connect with this book. I've been along for the whole series but this one didn't click for me. I loved that Taylor's men were a safe and supportive group for her after what happened in the last book. And I liked that Taylor herself was still strong even as she struggled to come to terms with everything that had happened. I liked the new addition to her harem. But I just wasn't feeling the connection I felt with the previous books.

Perfect

I wish more books did the epilogue side. As I feel it sounds the series off nicely.
I love how there is earnings where there is trigger scenes, only thing I would ask, please add UK helpline numbers too.

I thought it was interesting how some of the important scenes were done, as that is my only criticism. I feel that they could of been fleshed out just a bit more.

But bar that it was lovely seeing how her character evolved. Especially where the guys were concerned...looking forward for more books :)

Well worth the wait!!

I found this story had some triggering moments that left me shocked and even heart broken for the characters as the story progressed. But through all that there was still heart warming moments with Tay and her guys that make it so worth the read even a new love interest thrown into the mix making me smile with a well deserved ending that I just loved. I'm Even a little sad it's over but i found it well worth the wait and I definitely got an ending that I just loved.

Fantastic conclusion!

This book dealt with the fallout of the last book really well. It was dark and gritty, but it was balanced by lighter moments throughout. It's also one of the few RH books that dealt with the guy's reactions to another person joining three already established relationship, and that was really interesting to read. I also loved the ending chapters. They deserved their HEA and it was great to see!

Tay is a protector till the end

Tay has to navigate through her feelings of what Richard did to her, becoming an Alpha, and helping her new pack rebuild their lives. Luckily she has her dad, her aunt and her mates to help her through it all with love and support. Just when she thinks things can get better she's hit with more. This is the final book in the series and it does end with a HEA.

JE Cluney completes her Ashwood Wolves series with book 3, Wolf Protectors.

Tay had a ruff time in book 2, and her men showed up to support her. They continue to do so in the last book, too, but there are some interesting twists to this last book.

I enjoyed following Tay’s late-forming transformation, and they way she obtained her mates, up until now. I know that closure needed to take place, since the storyline was ending, but some of it was quite unexpected.

This book does come with a trigger warning so do read that before deciding to pick this book up. Though if you do you are finding a strong FMC who fights for what she wants and she is the alpha now she took out Richard. But this for sure will not go without a fight as well. Some aren't happy but is this the only thing? This book is the end of the story so we will get to see how everything ends. I am looking forward for more great stories from JE Cluney!

Be warned the last book in this series has some content that could upset some folks. This book and the previous one were darker I think and with everything Taylor goes it was difficult to read in places. Especially with what happened with Alpha Richard and now in this book where she has more troubles. I did love her relationship with the guys though. Their dynamic together made the series for me. It was a cracking series and a blindingly good conclusion

Wolf Protector was a great conclusion to the Ashwood Wolf Trilogy. Taylor’s new role as Alpha is not off to a great start when some deserters cause trouble for both her previous (father’s pack) and her new pack. There are trigger warnings for certain scenes so this book may not be for everyone. There were a one or two scenes which I felt could have been better if they were longer as they seemed a bit light, but overall it tied things up nicely, and I liked the epilogue at the end.

“This trilogy is over and it’s so sad to let this story go. I’m gonna miss the Wolf Protectors that’s for sure. Taylor’s new role wasn’t as easy as you might thing, the path to learn about her new role was a challenge but she rocked it! Sweet Lord, her men are absolutely amazing! I already loved them but this last part my heart almost collapsed. Couldn’t have asked for a different ending. Love this series!”

I love this series. This is an amazing read that will take you away from your reality to another world for a short time. It moves along at a great pace making for a fun and easy read. The characters are amazing and you will fall in love with them no matter what happens. This is a must red book that needs to be on your TBR list. You will not be sorry that you did.
