This is your basic run of the mill mystery that boarders on boring you to death with no action or thriller aspect at all UNTIL the last 100 or so pages. Then it turns into a page turner and the ending actually is really good making up for all the boring police procedural stuff that I normal like but this book missed the mark on. 3 stars and only the ending saved this from a 2 star rating. After reading the series in its entirety I have to say this is the worst book in the series. If I had read the series in order instead of starting with book two, which is in my opinion the best installment in the series, I most likely would have never continued reading the series…

I read this book in 1992 and then again in 2020. I wonder why I read this twice when I have hundreds of books I'm eager to read. I remembered nothing of this story 28 years later. And I probably won't remember it now. At least is wasn't scary. (owned print copy)
