Featuring the most interesting towns and villages in Thailand as well as major temples, town-by-town, with information on sights, markets, festivals and beaches-this is an invaluable resource for travelers.
I hate travel guides, but they are so necessary. There is a good introduction in this book. The relevant Places, however, left a lot to be desired. Do not follow advice for hotels, restaurants or other necessary places. Check Thai/Asian magazines for better options.
Once a travel guide is written its already out of date. I used this for the cultural pieces, maps, practical info, etc. But when it comes to the pages of hotel and restaurant recommendations I skipped right along.
I always take LP but the DK guides are so much more visual. The detailed diagrams are beautiful before, during and after a trip. I've lost count of the people who asked to look through this book.
A great guide covering many aspects of Thailand and with the usual great features. A return to form for DK guides after the lows of Singapore and Bali.
I am going to give this book 3 stars for now. All the information seems useful but once I actuallly go on my trip Im sure I will be able to rate the book more acuratly
đọc cuốn này chắc mắc cười nhất là lâu lâu coi trúng mấy cái wiki tiếng Việt hài thiệt hài, ví dụ có ông hoàng tử kia có cái tên dài thoòng xong wiki tiếng Việt dịch tên ổng là "ông Hoàng tử Hoàng tử Chitcharoen, các Hoàng tử Narisara Nuwattiwong" : ))))))))))))))))) nguyên bầy quàng tử nghe thí thương, ròi một ông quàng tử khác xây cái điện tên là "lánh xa ưu phiền" xong xi nghĩ chắc ổng thí phiền vì mấy cái tên dài thoòng loooònggg qué, thặc tọi nghịp anh =)) ò và cuốn này vui hơn cuốn Anh đó, hahaa
Just a list of sites in Thailand. I was looking for more detailed recommendations as to where to stay, almost no hotel descriptions or ratings. Limited guidance as to how to travel within Thailand. Few restaurant recommendations. Little guidance as to neighborhoods, i.e. whether they are safe or attractive or slummy, etc., all the things a traveler wants to know. I won't buy another DK travel guide again. And I did read it cover to cover.
