Misadventure. Lessons Learned From a Life of Ups and Downs

Rate this book
'In 2015 high on the side of Mount Everest I experienced the darkest days of my life to date. Little did I realise that the darkest day was still to come four years later. But this also led to me discovering the truth about who I was, and what I wanted out of life. It took a life of Misadventure to discover the answers.'
Ellis J Stewart has lived a life rich in many adventures and he's only 47! Attempting to summit Mount Everest and getting caught in catastrophes not once but twice. Being employed as everything from a taxi driver to an Amazon delivery driver through to a well received public speaker at events from the local Scout Group to international corporate clients.
He has also experienced the deepest reaches of depression and mental health issues which he honestly and freely will talk about in a bid to help others in a similar situation. His philosophy is life is for living and if we don't try, we will never know. Regrets are there to teach us what we can do better next time.
His first book, It's Not About the Summit has become an Amazon Bestseller and has rave reviews from around the globe. His second book, Misadventure. Lessons Learned From a Life of Ups and Downs is both a prequel and a sequel to his Everest story. The tale of his life with a myriad of incredible highs and the darkest lows. He writes with brutal honesty and clarity. Ellis lives in the North East of England with his wife, two daughters and his dog Ella.

Misadventure

“In 2015, high on the side of Mount Everest, I experienced the darkest days of my life to date. Little did I realise that the darkest day was still to come four years later. But this also led to me discovering the truth about who I was and what I wanted out of life. It took a life of misadventure to discover the answers” ---E. J. Stewart.

Misadventure, the author’s second book, is a journey of life’s highways, peaks and troughs and the lessons learned rather than a trip to the peak of Mount Everest, covered in his last book Everest: It’s not about the summit. Although he may not be a household name, Ellis is a guy that conquers what he thought was impossible: himself. From his schooldays to adulthood, the many hardships he faced, and the loss of his close friend to cancer.

I enjoyed this book immensely, and I have great admiration for the author.
I award the book 4 stars.

“I believe becoming resilient to the effects of failure is the biggest superpower a person can possess” ---E. J. Stewart.
