Plus she is continuing her life on the farm and attending a regular high school. All of this while hiding her shapeshifting abilities from her mom, Helen, and Jill. On top of that, a more powerful Other begins to seek an interest in her. Julia is coerced into continuing her shapeshifter training even though she struggles to make any progress. With multiple threats looming over them Julia is determined to do whatever she can to protect her loved ones. Thank goodness for Xavier, who helps her remain Fearless .

I loved this book!! There was so much drama, intense and loving scenes (Julia and Xavier).
I really can't get over how much everyone has grown and matured, they have become stronger together than in the previous books!!
I was on the edge of my seat, and could not wait to see what happens next!! It was inspirational seeing Julia deal with such intense scenes and how much she has grown into a powerful shifter.

WARNING
The book gets a little dark at times.

My FAVORITE of the series!! I love the interactions between Julia and Caiaphas! Favorite part: When Caiaphas tells Julia that he knows she will be able shift one day, but she needs to stop showing her weakness. She wants to hate him but is conflicted because she knows he believes in her. Ava Cates is a phenomenal story teller!

Wow… that’s my first thought immediately finishing book 4 of the the Speechless series! This book was definitely a wild ride!

Picking up from the previous 3 books, we have Julia and her friends trying to figure out how to defeat The Others. Julia is the key to defeating them, but she still is unsure of how to use her powers. Fearful of meeting the infamous Caiaphas, she finally does when he surfaces, and from there things speed up and take us on an interesting ride!

If you’ve read the series, you know it’s a cute YA paranormal type fantasy book. Well this book took it up a notch. We have magic, secrets revealed, action, romance, and new developments! Once I reached the 50% mark I could not put it down! The ending has me thinking is there a book 5? I’m interested in what happens next from that ending because book 4 had a lot going on! Some of which is explained as well as more that has developed!

Don’t forget to check out the previous books:

In this 4th book, Julia, Luke, Xavier and Madeline must work together to end Caiaphas' reign of terror, not only against Julia but her friends and family as well. When she learns how they can break free of Caiaphas she balks and thinks she can talk to him despite everything he has done and she has witnessed.

Julia hasn't matured as much as one would think under the circumstances and there are still many gaps in the storyline that aren't addressed.
How many times do we need to know that Ali is different? She is described in detail in each of the books?
How does Julia know that Luke/Jeremy has bonded with Madeline? Nowhere in the previous book does anyone tell Julia this.
Why does she keep running to Jeremy with important issues when she should be talking to Xavier? Xavier is useless as a protector since he keeps getting into a snit and leaving. Where is her father when creepy Caiaphas makes her go with him? Why is Julia continuing to behave stupidly and remain clueless?

The author had a good premise for a great story however, due to lack of continuity and consistency, that promise never truly rises above average. Also the parallels to several other stories of this genre are just too glaring to ignore. Overall a decent read and intriguing enough to make me feel that the time spent reading it was not wasted.

Okay, so I'm going crazy and joyful all simultaneously. I thought this was the last book in the series, so I was content when I finished it last night. I also was like, OMG, there are so many break-out characters she could write about. Brian, how I love Brian and how he turned into this badass that we didn't see coming. Who doesn't love an underdog story? You get that in this book. Julia came into her own, and you will find out. Then, OMG, a bombshell is dumped on you, and things twisted into this great storm of goodies that I loved until the end.

I couldn't put this book down. When I finally did, I thought I was saying goodbye to the characters, and I was okay with it because Ms. Ava wrote it so well and ended it perfectly.

Then I woke up today to write the review and googled the name to pull up some images and found there was another book and was floored. I was like, OMG, no, she didn't, then was like OMG, she did, and there are some answers I was quietly wondering about when I went to bed, and now I'm getting answers YAYYY MS. Ava, you got me again, and I love you for it!

Fearless 4 . . .

There is again so much going on here that my head was spinning. Xavier, Jeremy/Luke, Madeline, and Julia have to work together to figure out how to defeat The Others and protect everyone. Julia still needs to learn how to use her powers or they are of no use to her. Julia is dreading a meet with Caiaphas, the leader of the Others. He finally shows up at her grandpa’s café. He wants her to join them, to be part of the Core, the best of the best. It made little sense since Julia was the one the prophecy had spoken of, the one destined to end The Others. With a sort of threat about his ability to be persuasive when he wants something, he left the café.

I love the twists and turns we are taken through in this story line that won’t let go! The surprises keep coming and I’m eager for the next book!

I skipped to the end on this book. Why, a few reasons. The first was there was a huge event that happened at the end of the last book, and in this book it was kind of skipped. It was addressed but only in the way of telling you, yes we addressed this, just not in writing. The second problem was the interaction between the lead and the bad guy. The threat and the whole business just seemed to fluff out and we end up with a mobster. So I skipped to the end and meh. Maybe it is just me because I tend to lose interest after the third book, I just feel like the story at the point of book 4 gets so stretched out, that it loses interest.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Ava Cates has done a fantastic job of bringing these characters to life and making the reader care for them.

The story is well-developed and different from any others I've read. I loved every minute of it, and once again, I can't wait to find out what comes next.

Another fabulous installment in this series! I love all of these characters and their growth throughout these books. This one got a lot darker and a little more mature, but still an amazing series for teens….and those of us a little older! ;)

I am so excited to announce the newest release Fearless by Ava Cates!! Here are my thoughts on Ms. Cates' newest book.
Ava Cates has such an amazing talent for creating engrossing, fun and hard to put down stories. Fearless is the fourth installment in the "Speechless" series. In this story, we find Julia in some very close encounters and situations that make her mature quite a bit. I love how Fearless takes both the characters and the readers to the next level and progresses in a way that will leave the reader hanging on every word and dying to find out what happens next. In Fearless, Xavier really shines. In the other stories, he wasn’t one of my favorites, but has definitely come to grow on me. There are several twists and turns, surprises and intense moment throughout. Though dubbed a "young adult" genre, I feel any age would enjoy this series as well as this book. I can't wait for the next book in the series!!
