She lives in the middle of nowhere in a swamp, surrounded by all sorts of wild creatures (including snakes and spiders--which she gets rid of on sight!) and one mottled black cat who ambushes her from time to time.

Good story! I enjoyed it.

The novella's sample got me all hot and bothered and the book had much of the same affect.
A sexy stranger, a brutal contest, a mocha skinned princess with long flowing hair Ahem, sounds like this was this based on me so you know I devoured it!
Kudos to Fox, loved this book so much that I bought another and another to read and enjoy!

This was a really great and engaging read. The world building was very good and not too forced. I loved the hero and wanted him and his heroine to have the ever prominent Happily Ever After. Overall this was a great fantasy/paranormal read.

3 1/2 rounded up to 4 stars. Surprisingly better than the first two. There's still a little bit of self-entitlement in the heroine, but quickly overcome.
