JTHM is not just about gore it is also quite philosophical. All the issues are filled with monologues and witty comments here and there.
Johnny hates mankind cause mankind always hated him and at the end there was nothing to love about mankind in general anyway so why not get rid of it little by little?

Perhaps this one was a little better than those previous. Still with the random comics and short storylines, but the "non-primary" comics have been explained as Nny's comics to the point where I am seeing the similarities between what is happening in Nny's plot and the shorts themselves. I still don't think I like them though. They interrupt what otherwise might be a good flow.
Overall, I thought this issue has more continuity. Nny was trying to figure out why he is the way he is, and how he got to the state he was at. There are some whispers about demons actually being in the dough boys ... and the varying amount of blood on the wall is concerning ... but this could all be (and is most likely) just Nny's insane filter to the world perceiving these things.
There are three more issues left. If they keep improving as they have been, then the end might save it all for me. I'm just gonna have to read the next one to find that out.
This fourth book is more psychological and a little less gory than the previous ones. Johnny embarks on an introspective journey, questioning himself about what made him become a serial killer and about the voices he hears.
It was interesting to see Johnny's mental aspect being developed further, but I'm hoping for a recrudescence of violence in the following issues...
