a) the title made it seem like a lovely, appropriate thing to read at this time of year
b) it was free
I would not pay money for this book, which feels like a cobbled-together attempt to produce something of the sort which might add to the author’s repertoire and their pocket.
To be honest and fair, my disappointment probably stems from the fact that the author’s spirituality is a hash of all kinds, which I wasn’t expecting and was not made clear in the blurb or introduction. Clearly, there is much Catholic and Irish belief and tradition, but it’s mixed in with Buddhist teaching, manifestation practices, ‘metaphysical self-divinity’, ye olde Christmas poetry, and John Lennon……..
It should have stayed where I believe it began; in the author’s personal diary. It is borrowed soundbytes and poetry pasted and glued together with airy commentary.
I've had this on my shelf for ages and for some reason felt drawn to it yesterday. A collection of poems, quotations and reflections it is perfect to cheer up a dreary day.
Collection of the authors memories, poems and sayings the the common theme of winter. The book is in 3 parts winter, Christmas and hope and renewal. uplifting, thought provoking personal collection
