The Magic Lantern
Two novellas. The first focuses on the influence of the early cinema on a number of people with lives fractured by the Great War. The second is set in 1962. A young man about to begin divinity studies is troubled by the God is Dead school of thought. He is encouraged to spend the summer vacation in the Holy Land for spiritual renewal. But the quest turns into a coming of age set of experiences that set him on a new direction in life.
