A new approach to time management focusing on how highly successful people get their work done without sacrificing the life they live. This entertaining volume has what no other time management book has: insights on how to manage time from high achievers such as Malcolm Forbes, Jr., Ted Turner, Sandra Day, Dr. Johnnetta Cole, and Home Depot CEO Bernie Marcus. Dr. B. Eugene Griessman has interviewed hundreds of contemporary peak performers (and researched dozens of historical high achievers) to unearth the secrets of their success. He presents their time management tactics in short "Bites" designed to inspire today's time-starved reader whether they're over worked managers, working moms, entrepreneurs on the go, or even newly unemployed people who must suddenly learn to structure their own time.
Loved this book. Thought it had great ideas for being efficient and making the most out of your time and life. Knocking a star off because it’s a little dated at this point (it mentioned that faxing is a good efficient way to get in touch with someone). Still a great read though! Inspired to value my time differently.
Very helpful tips in here on how to manage my time better! I'm still trying to further implement these tactics. This is definitely one of my top favorite books! <3
Fast read about ways to be more productive such as organizing, short cuts, pacing, and avoiding procrastination (my significant challenge). Lots of useful how to tips. Some I'd seen, some not. But the book spends very little time on the distinction between time tactics (how can I save time?) and time strategy (what do I save time for?). I think once you have the what for answered, you can better use the tools Griessman lists to help you achieve more of your dreams. The 15 Surprising Things Ultra Productive People Do Differently does this much better.
Some of these tips I already know, but the reminder has me energized.
It's funny how dated a book from 1994 can be. The author talks about how timesaving it can be to use your car phone to return calls, and some people even spring for a portable phone. When did we start thinking we couldn't live without cell phones?
This book shares some great advice on how to make better use of our time. It is jam-packed with information and advice. I liked the book, but I could definitely apply the advice more, and I would like it even better!
Just an excellent book on thinking about ways to improve time management - including some things that people might not think improve your time management - such as having a family and social life and giving yourself personal time. I will keep this one on my 'real shelf'.
Best tip is when you travel for business, try to tack on a couple days to sight see as you may never get back to that country; Good advice Marc and I have taken advantage of.
The tactics all hold true today. I would love to see this book updated to reflect current technology. An easy read worth your time if you are looking for ways to get control of your time.
