ADHD can be improved with your bare hands: Methods for relaxing your hyperactive child

Rate this book
This book explains the effective methods for treating children with ADHD at home without any tools and medication. The key concept is to facilitate emotional development, specifically to elicit relaxed pleasure from them.

Relaxed pleasure tends to appear with satisfaction. Therefore we elicit it after a child attains his goal and enjoys playing an exciting play.

There are two processes for producing relaxed pleasure. One is jiggling the body while a child is feeling joy. Another is eliciting the rebound response, which creates pleasurable relaxation as a rebound of high tension or excitement. We repeat a cycle of tension raising and relaxation. When a child feels relaxed pleasure, as it is pleasurable, he wants to be in a state with relaxed pleasure.

As a result, he becomes both calm and active at the same time. The factor of relaxation leads to calmness, and that of pleasure leads to activation.

These methods are effortless for parents to practice once they know the knack. And these are very effective because even a hyperactive child wants to be relaxed, and even when he is relaxed, he keeps mental liveliness. He can learn and think deeply with relaxed pleasure.

This book is designed to help both parents and their children diagnosed with ADHD. The book utilizes case studies, specifically those of younger children, to illustrate the effectiveness of utilizing physical exercise to make the effects or symptoms less harmful to their social interactions.

The idea of the three emotions ("tensioned", relaxed and excited) are utilized to help the reader understand how those diagnosed with ADHD express their feelings and how to utilizing different methods, parents can calm/relax their children while still allowing them to interact with other children.

Overall, I gave this book a 4/5 because I found that while the theory behind the book seems sound, I am not the target audience. Additionally, while the book was written for non-medical professionals, I feel that this book is written more as a thesis and I feel that it could have a negative impact on the reader if they feel that this book was purposefully oversimplified.

ADHD can be improved

Because I have a grandchild with ADHD and this subject is a matter of high interest to our family, I am more than willing to read and review any information about it.
I am quite concerned the author theorized in General a therapy that "was an assumption it could be used broadly" when in fact "tickling triggers anxiety" and in high response level ADHD patient's condition, it would be detrimental. From here on out, it was difficult to form any credible understanding or relationship with the author.
I completed the read with a doubtful mind, therefore can barely give it a two star. The author needs to do and be much more resourceful in research and development of knowledge of the subject to write to this kind of audience.
Sincerely hope to see a better study from this Author in future writings.
