Tough circumstances by MeemsAngel82

My first book from this author, the characters and story was written well. The words flowed, the leads were fleshed out. There is a lot of heat here! There are hardly soft scenes or characters.

In a rather bleak setting, our h does what she can. She is with people but for a reason and it isn't love. She encounters her H, a mysterious man who she's actually attracted to. He wants her and he has her. They to a point have to sneak away and seek out pleasure in one another. There are bad circumstances surrounding them and even after they leave their situation, they are then left with having a real conversation about what they mean to one another. The story was set in a very depressing place, the back stories of each character also depressing. I personally didn't like their choices in life and couldn't identify with either of them. There is love, but this isn't romance. **Spoilerish rest of paragraph**. And after all of their tragedies...the author tops off our love story with our H mentioning that he'd be with other people if they couldn't be together while she says she couldn't possibly. Warmed my heart. Really. After all the depressing parts of their lives...it got worse? It also gets...worse yet. Turns out she had been with someone he knew very well, related to, in fact. No, thanks.

This story and the characters were depressing. The chemistry was excellent, the steam was also so good! I had honestly wanted to read one of Jaye's books forever. And I hate to say it, but this wasn't for me. I personally don't understand their choices, meaningless past intimacies, the fact that our H had that outlook on a possible future apart. Mind you, they are truly all about one another. Didn't like their disgusting discovery about a past connection. But this author, while I might give her another shot because of her good writing, didn't create something I truly enjoyed here. Sad for me because she really is talented.

It’s been almost a year since we’ve had a new release from Ms. Peaches, so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. It’s a bit of a departure from her previous endeavors in that it is a much darker story with perhaps more graphic scenes than we are used to from her. The story features Gabby and Zayne who are both doing their compulsory two year military service on Savra Island, a fully integrated observation base. There is an immediate attraction between the two when Zayne first arrives as a newbie but there seems little chance anything will come of it given Gabby’s current situation. However, Zayne is a very different recruit and his presence will change everything. Each of these characters know who they are and what they want. Gabby knows she is “a whore for pain, a submissive for pleasure” and Zayne is very much a dominant man with “peculiar” tastes. They appear to be made for each other, yet there are some other startling similarities that neither could have imagined or predicted. Not surprisingly there is a lot of sex in the story, some of it more violent and graphic than you would expect from a spanking romance, but all in all a very intriguing, exciting read. The ending even leaves a little room for a potential continuation of their story, should Ms. Peaches choose to explore it. 5 Stars.

Thoroughly enjoyed this Mafia action filled read
I cannot recommend this book enough to those of you that love action filled mafia reads this story has everything you would hope to find in its pages, once you begin reading you will have to read in one sitting and discover what the final outcome will actually be.

Gabby and Zayne are the main characters within this story and you will find right from the off that it is filled with action and drama, at the start the couple are new too each other and it takes time and incidents for them to come together in a united front, a woman that learns to be strong and a man that has to be if he wants to survive and keep those that matter safe.

This is a riveting read and I assure you that you will love every incident and enjoy reading about the various characters and how they come together, there are also some dramatic reads as well which will hold you riveted between the pages.

I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

Fast paced, well written, dark mafia story. In this world there is a mandatory 2 years service in the military. Zayne and Gabby are both serving their military time but Zayne has decided that since he's the heir to biggest mafia family. He wants Gabby and what he want's he usually gets. It doesn't hurt that they are also attracted to each other. There is plenty of action and steam in this story. If you like mafia stories you'll love this one. Fast-paced and sizzling dark mafia read. Gabby and Zayne are both doing their two-year military service on Savra Island and sparks fly between them. Zayne happens to be the heir to a powerful mob syndicate and is used to getting what he wants and that is Gabby. Intense chemistry and steamy scenes. One hot read.

Couldn’t put it down…
Mafia Prince, Zayne always gets what he wants, and he wants Gabby. They are both determined to make the best of their military assignment during their mandatory service. Super fast paced and involves little detail. I could tell the author had a whole world built for this story but when I got to 30% I had seen little of it outside a sex dungeon. Tbh I got bored. This book was boring and mix in fast paced with little details and you lose me. I usually don’t mind a lot of sex scenes but when sex is the plot then my eyes roll back.

This steamy absorbing story is set in a dark and cheerless military base where mafia "prince" Zayne has just arrived to begin his two year hitch. He immediately falls into instalust with Gabby, vowing to have her for himself, and Gabby isn't complaining. The story is interesting and the intensity and heat between Zayne and Gabby is scorching hot! I loved it.

It was actually disappointing that there was more sex than story. Heres this big bad mafia prince, who is acting like a scared baby during the story but a mighty man during the sex scenes. His character didnt flow well for me.

Disappointing... wish I could get a refund

The sample held promise so I bought this. Wish I hadn't. The general setting isn't bad but Zane is pretty unbelievable and far too nice for his alleged interests... and way too vanilla. Gabby is quite unlikeable as well as fairly unbelievable
