The grand finale of the Hellhound Shifters series!
And just like that, the world changed.
A new existence stands in the place of, well, everything. All for the greater good.
Talk about a huge shakeup of the status quo!
I know I should kick back and relax. Enjoy the company of Micah and Lyle, laugh and hug my brothers every day, and get in some quality gaming time. You know, actually enjoy life and appreciate the ones I love.
Be happy.
But I can’t… I just can’t. This is wrong. This isn’t how things should be. I need to put a stop to this…
Right?
Hellbound is the fourth and final Hellhound Shifters novel. Get ready for more drama, action, adventure, and an MM Ménage Romance.
Richard Amos is an author from England who is constantly lost in the worlds he writes about, and the ones in the queue yet to be written. He also has more books in his house than anything else, and is never without a book (and chocolate) in his hands when he's not writing. He’s a proud nerd who loves to dance. Hard.
Richard writes M/M Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, and Paranormal Romance, all with tons of kick-ass action, adventure, twisty plots, and yummy times.
Ah yes, pain for sure. And stress. But the good kind, the "I must know" kind. Unlike with the last series I read of Richard, it didn't feel like way too much pain for the mains, and the end was satisfactory
I didn’t realize going into this book that it was the last one. This has been an enjoyable series, and I’m looking forward to the next one. However, let’s get back to this book. Everyone is trying to adjust to the new normal of no death and a new ruler. Poor Draven is so happy that his brother is back, and he’s happy that his loved ones have loved ones of their own back. But nothing still seems right, and then the idyllic-like atmosphere starts breaking down. I was glad to see some many things in this, and one is the peace that gets found. I really can’t say much of anything because I don’t want to give anything away, but I was crying at the end. This was a good way to end the series. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
I cannot believe we are at the end of this series! It’s been one hell of a ride but so worth it. A new world is being forged and Draven has choice to be made. It’s been an incredible journey, it’s been dark, intense and we finally get our questions answered. It’s been emotional, bittersweet and full of love and angst but the author has done a fantastic job pulling all threads together and ending the series in the right way.
This was an absolutely brilliant ending to this highly enjoyable series. These characters and their struggle drew me once last time and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out (except for getting more 😏). I already know I'll be revisiting this series again and again.
I’ve enjoyed this series, and loved this last book with its mix of action, loads of twists, and impossible choices. As I’d expect with this author, the worldbuilding is fabulously detailed, and feels very real. I’m sad to see the last of these characters, but found the ending very satisfying.
The author makes his characters earn their HEAs. In order to restore world order, Draven has to lose loved ones, and hurt others. I thought a line that Lyle’s mother says sums everything up perfectly when she says that Dolos has built a world on pretty lies. It’s not just death being turned upside down. I loved how they managed to spend extra time with people they’ve lost, and the journey of realisation that a choice will soon have to be made. Everything has repercussions, which is how it should be.
I love the growing relationship between Draven, Micah, and Lyle, and how the three of them figure out how to make things work between them. Micah has been through the wringer in this series with betrayal, and loss. Choosing a side means losing someone he loves either way. I liked how his arc ends, and his relationship with his sister. I love how his and Draven’s weapons are sentient with their own fun personalities and quirks. Lyle goes through so much in this series, and I loved the added twist in this story. He and Draven are sweet together as are Draven and Micah. The three of them together are a perfect fit.
I enjoyed seeing Drake’s POV in this story too, and a bit more of Simon. I love him, and his friendship with Lyle. Dolos is horrible. I liked he hides behind a façade of niceness while totally controlling everyone and everything, and being manipulative as hell.
The final showdown is action packed, and not easy, which is how it should be. I did wonder if everyone would make it through alive.
The ending is perfect, yet realistic, especially the growing relationship between Lyle and Micah.
Hellbound is the fourth and final book in Richard Amos’s Hellbound Shifters series. Draven and his brothers are back for one final showdown with Dolos. Thanks to his taking control everything has changed. Dolos may be stuck where he’s at, but what does it really mean? Well, the one thing that it doesn’t mean is that he’s powerless, because he’s not. While there have been some benefits to his claiming the power, the consequences of the imbalance that he is creating are far worse. Draven and everyone connected to him have a rough road ahead of them. Some are more than willing to accept the new status quo, but not everyone is onboard with the new regime. The author takes you on a ride with these characters as they have to fight to restore what is right. You get little recaps to fill you in where the author thinks you need a little reminder. There are steamy scenes to tantalize, and then there are scenes that really bring the drama. The pacing is okay, but there are quite a few slow spots throughout. It made pushing forward a bit difficult, but more often than not it was worth it. Since this is the final book, you get a nice HEA to satisfy. I’m rating this book 4 out of 5 stars.
Dolos's utopia, the New new world, is well and truly in place, with no final death possible, those once lost being resurrected again, and everyone obliged to be happy. But how can everyone be happy if there are so many things wrong, no natural order, and one maniac dictating everyone how to behave, what to think or feel? Of course not everyone buys the utopia, Draven being the first in line, but there is no efficient weapon against Dolos, not with Lyle missing his magic. Though it does not have to stay this way forever.. The final book in the series is full of heart- wretching moments, strong emotions, and lots of drama. Some characters grow strong together, some get a second chance to say goodbye, some part ways. The final battle is epic, the plot developing fast, and the third part bittersweet yet so much appreciated. Great conclusion to this series.
First of all…..one really needs to have read the previous three books on this series by Richard Amos to appreciate this tale. Hellbound picks right up where book #3 left off. In fact, after the first paragraph you know the eventual conclusion. The only question is how Amos is going to get us there. In a sense, for those of us who have savored this series there is an immediate feeling of denouement. But what a glorious denouement it is! A new richness is added to all the characters - both heroes and villains. The book is non-stop adventures and emotional heart strings. One of the grandest series conclusions that I’ve read in a long time.
So here it is, the fourth and final installment in the Hellhound Shifters series (it definitely needs to be read in order) and what a wonderfully bittersweet read it is, too.
Draven, Micah and Lyle are trying to find their way both as individuals and as boyfriends in the new utopia Dolos has created with his newfound power...and trying to come to terms with the old adage that if something seems too good to be true it usually is. The character arcs and plotlines all come together in a way that's at times both truly satisfying and absolutely heart-rending.
Yeah, bittersweet definitely covers it...Hellbound is a fabulous way to close out the series but, boy, am I going to miss Draven, Micah and Lyle. 5*
Hellbound, the finale to Richard Amos’ Hellbound Shifters series, is sad but special.
As expected, thank goodness, questions are answered and we find out just how Draven and Lyle connect, but not everything is simply sweet. As a matter of fact, there are some craptastic things that occur that might take the smile from your face.
I was so very excited to read this fourth and final book, after the first three (highly suggest to understand what is going on) books in the last two weeks. And I am happy to share that this book, like Richard’s others, lives up to the 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟standard!
The final chapter in the hellhound adventures is here! As always, I absolutely love Richard Amos’s ability to world build and character build. This takes up a fair portion of the first part of the book, but bear with it - it’s worth it! I loved the growing relationship between Draven, Micah and Lyle in this one - but also the relationships they all have with those they’ve lost - this really got me quite emotional at times - it was really well thought out. A really enjoyable read overall.
I’ve really enjoyed this series and I’m sad to see it come to and end. There’s a lot of adjusting to be made to the “new normal” but Draven seems to be coping well. I’ve like getting to know all the characters and, like any of Richard’s books, the world building, tension and drama are sublime. It makes the books really exciting to read and this series has been full of twists and turns, difficult choices, heartwarming and heart wrenching moments and a finale that was perfection. Highly recommend!
Draven, an earth stationed hellhound, Micah, a fellow hellhound and lover, and Lyle, a clairvoyant and more, have tried to make lemonade out of the Lemons they were handed in Hellfire. As the story progresses they wait for the other shoe to drop, their enemy’s façade starts to pop, and for a future worth living, there is more than one enemy to stop. Richard Amos kept me guessing in Hellbound.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
Hellbound is the final book in this series. It crazy to be at the end of this Hellhound Shifters series. It’s been an enjoyable journey. A new world is made, and Draven has choice to make. In this dark, intense series, the audience finally get answers to their questions. I’m sad to see this book series end, but the author has done a brilliant job pulling all the pieces from the previous book by ending the series in the best way.
I received this ARC from the author for an honest review.
I don't know what to do with my life now that I've finished the series. This series sucked me in right from the start, and I couldn't put them down once I started reading them. This is now one of my favorite series! This last book was really heavy. Deals with a lot of grief and loss. My dad passed away 2 years ago and sometimes it feels like it happened yesterday, so this book hit me hard. I'd love one more chance to talk to him. Anyway, this was a fantastic series! I kinda want to start over and read it all again.
Hellbound is a fantastic read!! This is the final story in the Hellbound series. A new world has been created. A new normal of no death and a new ruler, Draven must make some choices. It feels weird and it starts to fall apart, break down. The ending made me cry, bittersweet that it’s over! I’m going to miss Micah, Lyle and Draven!! Overall, a phenomenal read so masterfully written with great pacing that traps you in the story!! Highly recommend!!
This series is make-believe but the ending to this series is all toooo real. A heart wrenching ending but very relatable. We all want a HEA book, but life doesn't always necessarily end that way. This Book #4 is so full of true emotions that my heart was full of remorse, love, and hope for the future. Draven, Micah, and Lyle are there for each other wrapping their arms around each other in sorrow and grief but mainly in love. This is my very willing and honest review.
Tears ran down my face as I read the ending of this story. It was beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.
It's clear from the start that the new 'normal' cannot stay that way indefinitely, but the alternative means losing loved ones all over again. A reality that Draven, Micah, and Lyle really do not want to face.
The story was action-packed, emotional, and a perfect way to tie up the series.
This is the final book in this series and you must read the first as it is a continuation. Wow. I must say what a ride. This concludes with all your questions answered and you hope that maybe somewhere down the line maybe another book pops up with “a few years later this happened”. I love this authors writing and cannot wait to read more. Greatly done. I recommend.
I have enjoyed this series ! This was a great book that tied up the series really well. Its been a wild ride with all the feels! I felt like everything tied up nicely. The authour did a great job of concluding this series without leaving anything major out. The entire series is well written, it reads at a great pace, it flows well and is easy to read. These characters are so well developed I am going to miss them!
A fabulous finale. For me this book focused more on the relationships of each characters. Which i liked. Heartwarming with plenty of fast paced action but with a few tears before the end. It was a bit of a emotional whirlwind but it added to the story i thought. All of which come to a head with all of the loose ends tied brilliantly. Im sad that this was the end but it was a knockout way to go out
This book. There was just so much, in such a short book. The twists and action, the choices that had to be made despite the heartbreak, the internal battles of right and wrong. This book was a perfect series conclusion, and I couldn’t of imagined it ending any better. Well, better is an off term. It could have been happier for a few characters, but the ending this book had gave you the perfectly contented emotions. Like everything was finally as it should be. I loved it.
Richard Amos has done it again. What a way to end the Hellhound Shifters series. With the new world that has been created Draven has some hard choices make. I am going to miss all the characters in the series. The ending was bittersweet and made me cry. I would definitely recommend this book. Thank you Richard Amos for another outstanding story.
Richard Amos brings us the fantastic finale of the Hellbound series! The story of Craven, Lyle and crew continues to its ultimate conclusion with all the feels along the way. Beautifully written with complex characters and plot twists, you won't want to put it down. I loved reading this series and highly recommend it. Don't miss out!!
What an amazing series! Richard Amos is a consummate story teller! The world building and character development are amazing! This final book in the series kept me on edge the entire time. It was nonstop action and revelations. I appreciate how it all wrapped up, even if I cried like a baby. Major reader hangover, but so worth it!
I am totally addicted to this series it doesn’t matter how long you leave it between reads it all comes rushing back. The writing is awesome the characters are so easy to fall in love with and you need to know everything. Richard is an incredible author who proves time after time he knows how to hook his readers and this one is a doozy
Thoroughly enjoyed this entire series - very entertaining and unique. There are 4 books (plus an off-shoot short called "Dirty Magic") and the 4 main books do need to be read in order. There is an underlying story that arcs through all of them and you don't get the HEA until the last book. Makes for an epic read!!
