For almost four decades the Hermit Club has served as a venue for the young people of Brentwood to create and perform their own music, theatre and other cultural pursuits. At times, it has been more than that, part of the community, a place to come together.
A combination of nostalgia and learning things I never knew. This brought back a lot of memories for me and it was interesting to find about the Hermit before and after my time.
I'm not going to rate it because, quite simply this is very different from what I usually read that it would be meaningless to do so. Obviously, if you had no involvement with the Hermit, this book is not for you. But if, like me, it was (for a time) part of your life, then this is essential reading.
