Quietly exploring her newfound abilities and reinventing her life, she discovers fifty is the new forty ... and there's nothing quiet about it. Connie Keyes thought nothing could surprise her after the past year. Her dead husband's spirit attached to a taxidermy beaver, the moratorium against magic was lifted from her family, and she acquired a gift for communicating with ghosts. Deciding it was high time for a supernatural career move, she heads to a training event she hopes will also be a relaxing getaway. But when the owner of the bed and breakfast where she's staying suddenly dies, Connie's plans to relax die too. Having never met the owner before, Connie is stunned when a will surfaces that leaves her with the house, a cat, and a deadly mystery. Now with her haunted stuffed beaver tagging along, she sets out to solve the case before the killer sends her to the other side. Secrets aren't the only things buried in the basement. Changing Locks is the second book in the Extra-Ordinary Midlife paranormal women's fiction series. If you enjoy solving mysteries, join Connie and her friends for a little snark, a little creepiness, and a lot of laughs in Lynn M. Stout's spooktacular tale.
I write twisted tales of strong women defeating evil, creepy stories with a paranormal angle, and rowdy characters full of joy and humor.
I grew up wandering the streets of Historic Downtown Jonesboro, Tennessee, where I absorbed the town’s rich history, fed my already overactive imagination, and twisted my ankle on many a cobblestone. I saw ghosts in the old buildings and homes and couldn't rest until I'd created their stories. I never outgrew that obsession.
I am an unapologetic voyeur when it comes to old houses and I have an unhealthy obsession with creepy staircases. I love research and enjoy a deep dive into old stories.
I'm happily married to my amazing and supportive husband of thirty years, am mother to two young adults and I've recently become a grandmother to a beautiful baby boy!
I share my home with my husband, a lazy Boxer and two rather demanding cats. While I am a southern girl at heart, I currently live in Michigan and am loving every minute of it! Plus, it's hard to have a hot-flash when it's ten degrees outside.
A satisfying sequel to Breaking Locks: A paranormal women's fiction novel. I found myself glued to the kindle until I finished this book. It was a page turner with a satisfying level of suspense. If you enjoy exploring paranormal themes like talking to the dead, ancient curses and witchy, intuitive powers mixed with down to earth family dynamics and relationship issues, you'll enjoy this page turning quick read. I am looking forward to reading Picking Locks (book 3 in this series)!
First, book one in this series, Breaking Locks, was fantastic! Second, Changing Locks gave me more than I even knew I wanted.
Author Lynn M. Stout has a beautiful way of weaving humor, heart-tugging feels, and mystery all into one story flow. It completely works. I found myself giggling, swooning, and gasping throughout the book.
I love the way Lynn has crafted a spirit world that evokes feelings and an interesting back story. It's full of so much yumminess. And as someone who has had a spouse pass away, I appreciate how Lynn has gone deeper with Connie's loss - I can't say anything about it because spoiler alerts are the worst. You get to read this book and find out!
I found this series by accident & very glad I did, so far both books have been so enjoyable, definitely held my attention couldn't put them down. I highly recommend anyone who enjoys ghosts stories to read these, I can't wait for book 3 to come out. I give 2 thumbs up
