How does one feel when one’s dearest person, forever lost, is faced with the exact copy of the lost person recovered, as if by magic, through science?Dr. Brian Green, 29, a Molecular Biology scientist, carries research work on cloning animals’ somatic cells to improve their production in milk, flesh and so on. In his private life he suffers an appalling shock – his girlfriend, kidnapped by her drunken ex-sweetheart, dies in a car crash caused by his losing control of the car. Brian and his team, including the sage Dr. Hobson, decide to clone her using a cell left in her blood-stained sweater. After many trials, they finally bring to life a new human being – a baby girl being born by a colored woman, who also has a daughter of her own. With the passage of time, the difference in the color between the girls by the same mother raises doubts that the white girl should be a cloned one. The Colorado state sues Brian, who admits it. The girl, who is four years old, a lovely and pretty creature, was brought in front of the courtroom, and wins the love of the Judge, the jury and the public present in the courtroom. The Judge allows the audience to speak either in favor or against Dr. Brian. The trial finds him not guilty, but with the admonition that if repeats such an experiment, he’ll be sent to jail.
