From the USA Today bestselling author of Uncharted Waters comes a slasher thriller about a psychopathic serial killer obsessed with bloody revenge over the death of his younger sister.

We live in a world where human value is based on social media likes and comments. We’ve become addicted to validation, and social status. Our devices seem to know us better than we know ourselves, our secrets are hidden deep in the dark cloud; do you have something to hide? What happens when your device turns against you, and manipulates you to do things you didn’t think you were capable of?

This is the story of five teenagers celebrating their high school graduation at an isolated cottage. Each of them have a secret they would do anything to keep from being exposed. When they wake up in the morning and the cottage is littered with the dead bodies of their graduating class, and their phones light up, speaking to them directly about those very secrets, their true colors begin to show.

But keeping secrets is the least of their problems when there's a killer on the loose, hell bent on revenge.

It's Degrassi with blood, thrills, and a compelling anti-hero out for revenge.

Wow. Killer New App is an insane (in a good way) read. There are multiple narrators and the story very nicely rolls out, going in between the present and the past, showing everything that leads to the end of the book. I found myself really pulled in and unable to put the book down, even when I found something really sad or disturbing.

The book also does a really good job at developing the characters and passing on a message I think we all should really pay attention to. It's scary to think about, but some of the things written in the book seem more like they might actually happen than fiction.

Scott MacKenzie continues to thrill and entertain, and I love this book and am really looking forward to reading more from him!

Ummmm...Holy WOW! What the heck did I just read?!
Killer New App was an intense and crazy read. It was original, unique and told in multiple POVs-6 I believe. I loved the take on apps, social media and mixing that in with everyday life and a serial killer? Yup! You got a futuristic world in what could become of us mixed with a retro thriller vibe.

Killer New App is a story of revenge and an app called Detour. Matthew is one of the main characters, along with 5 high schoolers (Logan, Cambria, Audrie, Mandi and Jess) that are part of a clique that didn't treat his sister so well, leading to her death.
Matthew was an outsider growing up, but with his successful new app and computer knowledge, he his kind of famous in his small hometown. So when his sister turns up dead/missing, he returns home to find answers and he lets his app Detour lead the way. And that app may be the most deadly of all.

This story was just complete insanity. And I mean that in the best possible way. From the take on social media and how we let that lead us in life to the multiple narrators, it was a complete trip of what we encounter everyday mixed in with some intense bullying moments and death. Even with all the narrators, the story and the flow of it made sense. I liked hearing from each person's perspective and a bit of their history leading up to Detour being a part of their life.
How everything led up to the eventual climax and got us answers was completely unexpected. There were a few reactions from the teens that bothered me (or lack there of), but my main focus was always on getting to the answer with Matthew and like I said unexpected.

Overall, this was a great read that had me questioning where our future is headed. I do enjoy a good thriller and liked having that mixed in with the story so we had a measure of mystery and suspense to the overall feel.

It took me a little longer to read Killer New App than it normally takes me to read a book. I needed breaks away from the storyline because it’s really intense. But, Scott MacKenzie has written a thoroughly shocking thriller that’s definitely a 5 star read! It has a twist near the end that really surprised me. And I can usually figure out if there’s going to be a twist, so WELL DONE SCOTT! If you like thrillers, read this book!

Sweet Lord, I was supposed to spend my day writing, but instead, I curled up in bed and rode this wild ride of a book. Killer New App is one of my favorite reads of the year. Scott MacKenzie earned a seat on my favorite authors list. Brilliant writing. You fall in love with the characters, good or bad. And you have no idea who's good or bad until the end. What a twist! Kept me guessing until the end. LOVED IT!

I will keep this short and sweet. This book was crazy, terror filled excitement from the first page to the last. What a scary concept! It really makes you wonder if something like this app could ever exist. And to that I say, I sure as hell hope not. Scott MacKenzie is a really gifted writer and I can’t wait to read what’s next.

I really enjoyed the story, and found myself absolutely glued to my phone as I read it on my kindle app. I feel weird writing this review from my phone lol. I wasn’t expecting this, and it was so good! This was a intense ride. Definitely recommend!

Totally unexpected!

This was nothing like I expected and as thoroughly enjoyable - murder, mystery, intrigue, romance, love and some bold ideas about the future and where we are headed. So glad I took the chance on a 'new to me' author.

Suspenseful and surprising

This books should be turned into a movie, but it wouldn’t do it justice. It has drama, suspense and you know know how it will end. A great read especially if you like psychological thrillers.

This thriller/teen drama brought me out of my romance daze, and I am so happy that I jumped right in for the rush of adrenaline had me riding the high until the end.

Killer New App is told in multiple POVs and centers around the death and murder of a young teen. Being in the mind of each character was very entertaining! The storyline alone was enough to mentally sink its claws in deep, and the author did a wonderful job with the layout and character development. I could definitely see the ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ influence; I was betting on the wrong person the whole time.

If you’re looking for a book that is creepily good and filled with twists and turns, then highly recommend that you check this one out.
