The Contingency Plan

Rate this book
In this enemies-to-lovers action romance, Bexley Barker must work alongside the men who tormented her since childhood. The Wolfe brothers, Asher, Braxton, Cruz, and Dominic are all grown up, and they’re hoping Bexley will let bygones be bygones. They’re all part of their parents’ contingency plan, destined to spend their lives together – subject to contract – bred for one purpose. To save the world from a mutual enemy – the Chameleon – a wanted terrorist with tyrannical intentions. It’s a race against the clock to scour the globe, searching for hidden clues like a trail of breadcrumbs, with many steamy encounters along the way. Secrets and lies are unveiled. Some bonds are severed, whereas new ones are forged. Can they fulfil the task without killing each other? And will Bexley walk away or choose to stay?

Book was so good read it twice. Can’t wait for sequel to this book. Hope second book delves more into what each Wolfe brother bring out in Bexley with more one on one time and how it helps the mission.

This is written amazingly, oh my god! Truthfully, I went into it for some RH smut, in which it did not disappoint, but ended up staying for the amazing plot! So many insane twists I did not expect!

The Contingency Plan (Paperback)
by Kelly Lord (Goodreads Author)

I read this book on the ReadInkitt app; it is also available from the Galatea app and in book form.

This book has very adult content so if that is not something you want to read, you may want to skip this book. That would be too bad, it was a very entertaining story even outside the steamy sex scenes. Ms. Lord is a good storyteller and the story had several twists and turns that made me want to keep reading.

One reason I selected this book to read on the Inkitt app was it was listed under the "Quick Reads" header. Many books on e-reader apps run into the hundreds of chapters, or thousands if they are an "ongoing" (i.e. never-ending) story. So a 'completed' book with just 45 chapters sounded like the right level of commitment for me, time-wise and money-wise.

It is "spy thriller-lite" but the story is good, with some plot twists that I saw coming and some that I did not. The book ends with hints for a Book 2 but I don't see any mention on Ms. Lord's website that she is working on the 2nd book any time soon.

As to the adult content, the story centers around a 'Reverse Harem'. Again, the blurb above doesn't hint at the nature of the 'romance' but the e-readers do have trigger warnings on many of the books they carry. I would heed the trigger warnings if you don't want to be surprised.

I fully intend to read other books by Ms. Lord, spicy or not, and I highly recommend visiting her website to see what other books she has written and where they are available. https://kellylord.co.uk

As always, a reminder to be careful with e-reader apps, they are very expensive and their goal is to make a lot of money. That's why they charge by the chapter. Their weekly and monthly subscription rates will cost you hundreds of dollars per year. If you find an app that has a lot of books that interest you, see if they have an annual subscription plan. Even these can run $200.00 per year. (Please use a virtual credit card that is easy to shut down if you run into a bad actor.) Or note the authors' names and look for them online elsewhere. Buying Kindle versions of the books will be cheaper in the long run than paying some of the subscription fees.
Some of the e-readers offer audio versions of the books and some have "immersive" versions which include sound effects and music. Caveat emptor - let the buyer beware.

Ok. I gotta say wow. I read this on the AnyStories app but it’s also available from Amazon as a PB.

This is a 5 * book cause it’s gonna stay with me. Thing is, there’s so much more that the author can add to it. (More smexy scenes for one!) There are some crazy ass plot twists too. Of Asher, Braxton, Cruz and Dominic my favorite is definitely Braxton, but all four Wolfe boys are welcome anytime lmao.
