For years, Andreas Xenakis had a single-minded determination to find Siena DePiero and exact his revenge on her for ruining his life. Siena, once a rich socialite, now works as a waitress to make ends meet after her father’s company went into bankruptcy. The two meet once again and the attraction they felt all those years ago comes rushing back. Andreas is determined not to let his desire for Siena get in the way of his revenge, and Siena is overcome with the guilt of what she did to him. So when Andreas makes Siena an offer that is too tempting to turn down, what will they do? Will Andreas’s anger overcome his desire for Siena? Will Siena summon the courage to tell him the truth?

A rather steamy romance for a harlequin. The tropes of this story are rather overused but the misunderstood heroine was given a plausible motive for her actions, and the hero had a good reason to hold a grudge.

49 cents? I'll take a leap of faith for that much.

Finishable in less than half an hour, this manga interpretation of a romance novel tells a compelling story with decent art in a not-so-satisfying experience. I felt like I had just wrapped my head around the plot and its twists when suddenly...it's over. So much time is spent setting up the plot that the plot is all there is.

I prefer more depth to my stories than a play-by-play of why this character is broke, why this character is mad, and how this and that character get over their problems. Either I'm not equipped to appreciate manga like I'm supposed to, or there really wasn't a lot to chew on, here.

I do feel like it should be illegal to read graphic novels of any kind on a kindle, though. What a terrible experience.

I think this actually suffered for being a manga adaptation. If it were a manga originally it would have earned more explanation for the purported emotions, and probably it had a lot more internal monologue and/or flashbacks in the original text. I wasn't a huge fan of the art, either (the faces were super long at the top down the forehead and nose and squished at the mouth). This was very meh . ... but, shit.. IT WAS 99 CENTS! They had a broken keyboard? I bought a broken keyboard. ...
