Dodge: Black Dagger MC

Rate this book
Someone made the deadly mistake of abducting Dodge’s son.
When Dodge’s Old Lady suddenly wants out, and his brother goes to prison for murder, all Dodge has left is the Black Dagger MC. Abandoning the club that gave him acceptance and safety is simply out of the question. Six years later, his old childhood sweetheart, Kira, returns with a surprise -- their son. What should be a happy reunion is cut short when the boy goes missing.
Kira once found club life thrilling, but as a nurse, she saw first-hand how quickly things get bloody. After becoming pregnant, she left town and made a clean break from everyone. But the freedom for her son only lasts until a tragedy befalls them and she must return to Charleston.
Now Kira’s only chance at happiness is to confess everything she hid from Dodge. With his help, they might be able to rescue their son. But with both of their lives shattered by Henry’s abduction, can they learn to forgive one another and finally become the family they were meant to be years ago?
Standing with their brother, the Black Dagger MC rides together to find the child and make the abductors pay.
Dodge is the second book in the Black Daggers MC series, featuring a second chance romance with a childhood sweetheart, an accidental pregnancy, and a happy ever after proves a little danger is always worth the trouble.

Great story. I think Dodge could’ve been a bit more “alpha” but I understand the way his childhood was , why he was messed up. Kira and her son helped save him. The only downfall to this book, is I would’ve liked to see him speak to his brother again, but overall this book is a good book to follow Rogue. I can’t wait for the next book.

Second book in the series, well worth reading Rogue first. The hero stars in it and gives some background to his story.

I don't normally enjoy second-chance romances. I normally want to smack the characters for being ridiculous or not laying their cards on the table. Secrets annoy me.

Thats not what you get with Kira and Dodge. Both take on the part they had to play in their history and are looking towards the future. They forgive each other their faults and mistakes. Its so refreshing!

Another huge tick for me is that Kira stands up for her friends, not allowing allowing her parents to speak badly of them. Its fantastic to see a strong heroine who will not be bullied or held hostage by prejudices.

A very enjoyable read with some twists to keep things interesting. Spicy with some sweet and a lot of leather. Cant wait to read the next book in the series.

Good Read

This is a good book, but there were certain parts I didn't like about it. I felt like the male character's role was diminished; he's a biker, and throughout the story, he comes off weak. The female character made all the decisions; he didn't get a say in anything happening in his life. The fact that he wasn't pissed off for Kiera, keeping his son a secret for revenge, made it difficult for me to really like the story. This is my personal opinion about it, and I'm pretty sure another reader will disagree with me, but that does not take away from the book. I still think it's a good story; it's why I gave it 4 stars.

New author me. Great read. Second chance romance. Some triggers ( super sad - sexual abuse , poverty , violence for Hero) . I liked that even though heroine came from wealthy background, hero was not from one - they both made something of themselves and money wasn’t in your face. Hard not to root for both MC especially Dirk. Some might think Dirk is weak but that’s a whole lot of abuse he’s had to deal with in addition to the drama with his brother and Kira leaving him. There’s HEA, no cheating or OM / OW drama. Excellent side characters. I like this book bc it’s concentrated on MC and both their POV. Fav characters are Adam & Henry. I hope there’s more to come from this series!

Overall I enjoyed this book, watching as Dodge, Kira and Henry become a family. I did find Dodges reaction to finding out he was a father to be a little different than “the usual” reaction. Not a bad thing necessarily. She definitely came across as the stronger of the two. Her mom is one real piece of work! I liked that this was just two people finding out where they are now and building on that without the outside drama of another woman/man. You do pretty much know who the bad guy is but the path the story took involving that person was different than expected- again not a bad thing for me

I thought this to be a very good read. As another reviewer stated it is well worth reading "Rogue" first as you get a bit of the story behind "Dodges" life in the club. Not necessary as each story is stand alone, but it does help. Good flow and story line with enough info on both the H/h in story to understand where each were coming from with their backgrounds. Some action and violence,(no where near what I've read in others) after all it is an MC story. Will definitely read more of the stories in this particular club. Definitely recommend to others.

2nd in series

Dirk (Dodge) and Kia’s tale is the 2nd in the Black Dagger MC series and the second book I’ve read from this new to me author. I really enjoyed the first book and was looking forward to this one. However, I could not get into the book because of the trope. Women keeping a child secret from a father on purpose (especially when the father is a good guy and not abusive) is my absolute least favourite read. I hate this kind of storyline and because of that, I didn’t like this one.

So I wasn’t sure if I would like this book because Dodge was a bit of a jerk in the first book but I’m so glad I decided to read. I liked both him and Kira, and I LOVED the fact that they each recognized their mistakes in the relationship before they split and were able to not hold grudges and accept apologies from each other. I also liked that you understand why Dodge was the way he was feeling abandoned. Liked the side characters. Overall liked this book more than the first.

Wow! This one really sucked me in. I read Rogue a few weeks ago, but read a few other MC books before picking up Dodge, so I was a bit lost at first and had to skim the end of Rogue as a refresher. I absolutely hated Dodge in Rogue's book, but completely changed my mind after learning his back story. I generally stay away from "secret baby" trope books, but the reason behind it was plausible enough in this case, and she did tell Dodge right away. Looking forward to the next books in the series.

Wow.

Holy cow this book is the definition of bad — biker. But my favorite part was when Kira set Rogue straight the. He went and set the rest of them straight. Henry was adorable and so strong. Loved this one.

So excited that Dodge finally got the life he deserved after all the issues he's been thru. The Author once again wrote an awesome storyline.

Dodge had a horrible childhood. Kira always accepted him, were great friends, then lovers. She left when she found out she was pregnant. Six years later she moves home with her son. Dodge is in the hospital recovering, and she is his nurse. Their friendship is rekindled leading to love, again. Then Henry is taken. Terror, danger, action, steamy scenes and angst follow in this story. And I am amazed at how strong Kira is, how she stands up for her friends against her mom's prejudice. I wanted to shake her mom, she was so awful. Great main characters, friends and MC members , along with descriptions of location and you feel like you are in the middle of it all. This is the first book I've read by this author but I'll be reading the rest of the series very soon.
