Madison Stone is just an ordinary girl; a junior in high school, worried about keeping her grades up and how she can make life easier for her hard working, single father... and she's in love with a guy that doesn't feel the same way. Her life is completely normal. Well, except for the fact that she's a werewolf, and nobody can ever find out.
Protecting that secret has always been easy. Madison keeps to herself, except for those rare occasions when her former best friend, Henry, hangs out with her at the pack headquarters. But that all changes when attacks across the border in Canada threaten to expose the existence of supernatural beings.
With most of the pack away hunting down the killer, Madison and Henry are left behind to defend their territory when a stranger arrives in their secluded town of Havencrest, Maine. Tensions are high as secrets and deceits are revealed, and a sleepy town is thrust into a war that they know nothing about. Will the pack survive the winter? Or will their secret be discovered?
E.M. Taylor is an author of young adult supernatural books. Growing up, she devoured all things otherworldly, from Harry Potter to Mona the Vampire, and would rush home from school to watch Sabrina the Teenage Witch, wishing she too could be blessed with magical powers.
Reading fulfilled that wish. Whether it was running with the werewolf pack in Kelley Armstrong’s Bitten, or moving into the Glass House in Rachel Caine’s The Morganville Vampires, books offered an escape from reality, and a world of adventure, inspiring Taylor to pick up the pen herself.
Aside from writing, she works in pensions administration, and spends her free time playing video games or attending conventions… but mostly watching Julie and the Phantoms or The Hunger Games on repeat. She lives in Hartlepool with her husband and their goldfish. Discovered is her first novel.
This was such a fun read. I love supernatural fiction and how Taylor created her own werewolf pack rules and hierarchy. The plot was fun and kept me guessing at who wasn't really who they said they were. Who doesn't love a love triangle?
What a ride! A quick, exciting read I'm so glad I put my hands on. Not going to lie, this is 100% Young Adult, troubled first love, growing up drama, teen angst kind of story, and I love every second of it. Madison and company were great characters, realistic and endearing. I absolutely wanted to slap them a few times, but hey! they are teenagers facing their first terrifyingly dangerous situation. They acted accordingly to their age and experience, and that's such a breath of fresh air in a YA novel. This take on the werewolf pack dynamic was also refreshing in its originality. No huge packs tearing each other apart for territory, no inexplicable billionaire alphas who enjoyed torturing their own people. A great twist from all of the things I roll my eyes at in werewolf stories. And I'm 100% team Carter, so thank you very much for making Madison so reasonable!

"Discovered" is not a simple novel of first love and supernatural elements... Emma M. Taylor does an excellent job of bringing the reader into the lives of Maddie, Henry and Carter, tracing the quiet life of a small Maine town as it is turned upside down by events that are both touching and intriguing. From the very first pages of the novel, I was immediately gripped by the story, and soon I could begin to like the characters... And others less so. The plot gives way many twists and turns that leave us in suspense but that we love. The feelings experienced by the reader are perfectly balanced and the author's writing style is very rich. I can't wait to follow the next adventures of the pack!
I finished the book today. And I really liked it. I actually really did. The main character feels very familiar, because even though she is a werewolf, she feels very human, and acts very much like most teenagers do.
The first half of this book established all the characters and was clearly building up to the second part of this book, which blew my mind. While the first half seems to move at a slower pace, it really makes you feel very strongly about all the characters. The second half moves at a completely different pace. It holds a lot of action, a lot of emotions, and it had me completely hooked.
Emma made me feel a lot of things with this book. She created a main character that felt very familiar, she wrote a main male character that made my blood boil, she introduced a character later in this story that had me changing my mind on him being a good or a bad guy the whole time, and she made me fall head over heels for yet another character.
All these characters are very unique, but even though this is a YA fantasy novel, they all feel very human. They’re all still teenagers who fall in love, who make mistakes, who are trying to find their place in this world. Only difference? Some of them change into werewolves from time to time.
It was a very fun and enjoyable read. Some of the references in this book put a smile on my face, because they actually made sense to the story. They weren’t just thrown in there.
If you’re looking for a YA fantasy novel to add to your list, I can definitely recommend this one!
Oh. My. God. I devoured this book—Discovered gave me everything I didn’t know I was craving: mystery, teenage angst, supernatural drama, laugh-out-loud moments, and a heart-squeezing romance that left me swooning.
Madison, girl… I adore you. You’re sharp, funny, vulnerable, and so deeply relatable—even if you are a werewolf. Watching her navigate a world of secrets, shifting loyalties, and tangled emotions felt like stepping into a new obsession. She’s easily one of my favourite protagonists in recent memory.
And don’t even get me started on the love interests. Henry—the brooding, grumpy, closed-off MMC—had me in a chokehold. And then there’s Carter, our sunshine boy, the golden retriever of love interests, whose warmth and loyalty made my heart ache. The slow-burn tension and unrequited longing had me emotionally unwell in the best possible way. I was flip-flopping every chapter over who she should choose, and honestly? I’m still not over it.
The world-building is rich without being overwhelming, the pacing is tight, and the twists kept me guessing until the very end. I was side-eyeing everyone, even sweet Carter (forgive me, king), and the suspense had me glued to every page.
This book is the perfect storm of supernatural romance and emotional depth. I cannot wait to read the next one.
This is easily one of the best books I have read in a while. I grabbed me right from the start and held my attention all the way through to the very last line of the last page I would highly recommend others read it. The way everything was described from the characters looks to what they were wearing and everything going on throughout the course of the whole book made me feel like I was right there watching it all go down almost as if I were a character in the book. Now I don't usually cry reading books but when Madison found her pack mate Ryan dead in the car near her house when he returned to be there to protect her while the rest of the pack was pack was in Canada I had tears in my eyes. Although Ryan was not a character we really got to know too well durring the course of the book other than through the stories of him from Maddie and Henry I felt myself grieving along with them and the rest of the pack once they returned and found out. I honestly can't say enough good things about this book.

I picked this book up after spending what seemed like an age reading factual books. I wanted to delve into fiction and my love of the supernatural. This book hooked me in straight away. The pull to continue from those first few pages made me hungry for more. I didn’t have to wade through several chapters of character background before the main story began. It hits you straight away. Loved it and cannot wait for more from this author. Well done E.M.Taylor :)
This is one of the best books I've read. It hooks you from the first line and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Many things happen you dont expect to and it leaves you wanting more and more. I cant wait to see what comes next in Maddie's story!
Cannot recommend this book high enough!! Really amazing read! Great story line, not the typical high school romance, lots of twists and turns within the story! Great for getting lost in a magical world!! Grab a copy and a cuppa and get comfy!
Fab story full of twists and turns! I can’t wait to see what Maddison Henry and Carter and Carter get up to next. Not your typical werewolf story. Well worth a read!
A coming of age shifter story full of teenage angst. Trying to solve the mystery and find the murderer, who can she trust and who does she fall for. A good story.
Honestly I began this journey while this book was being written so to see it now out on kindle felt so surreal, grabbed it and binged it in one sitting. Amazing debut from the lovely Emma, Maddie honesty feels like a friend reading this again and getting to the end I really enjoyed and will continue to read this series as you grow and release them ! Werewolves, action, love triangle, angst for days what's not to enjoy If you enjoy urban fantasy books get this read I think it's the start of something special
This book got my attention from the very first chapter. I liked how the author wrote the main character Madison like an actual teenager. I have found when I have read books about teens, they are written more adult-like. So, that was good. The book was well written and the story was intriguing. Madison went through her own teen problems as well as defending her territory from a stranger. There are lots of things happening in the book, with some twists in there too. A very enjoyable read.
This book was the first paranormal mystery novel that I've read! It was a book that i really enjoyed. These characters are all described in a way that makes you love and care for them, which makes it really hard to read some of the challenges that they go through.
This was a quick read for me, and i enjoyed every minute of it. The way this book is written and the way the spatiotemporal descriptions and Maddie's POV are related is something that i found very satisfying to read and that i haven't noticed in many other books.
I'm definitely on team Carter and the last few fighting scenes had me sitting on the edge of my seat. The pack truly has that sense of family and i can't wait to see all of these characters come back in Prey!

A must read for any fans of Kelley Armstrong or Rachel Vincent’s shapeshifting stories.
This debut story may tread some familiar grounds, but thanks to some enchanting writing, it all feels fresh and engaging from beginning to end. I look forward to seeing more from EM Taylor in future!
Oh don't get me started on this book! This one was just OH MY GAWD! Good! Had me in the edge of my seat good. Definitely worth the read! Was so good I bought many copies to share with others because this book deserves so much love! The love and terror put together gives you the want and need feeling to finish the book. I couldn't even put it down. I had to finish it! If you have a love for werewolves and wondered what a teenage girl wolf would get herself into this is the perfect book for you. It's adventurous and it'll take you to another world! It'll have your brain imagining images as if you were there! Give it a read! Give a review! Go on Mads wolf Adventure! It's fun!
This young adult werewolf based novel was fun and full of suspense. I loved the main character and her exploration of what it means to be a teen werewolf. With themes that are relatable to normal teen experiences. The relationships between the characters were well developed, and full of love and angst. The main storyline had me gripped from the beginning, and the plot twists whilst slightly predictable still held a fun change in the story. Overall, I think this was a great book to read if you're in the mood for supernatural teenage drama and suspenseful action.
Oh my GOD!! I loved it. There were times I wanted to slap Henry, I wanted to hug Madison, she is such a beautiful soul, I’m so glad you gave her the happy ending with Carter. Ben I could have happily strangled him, but in a way I can understand why he did what he did. He was totally led astray by his father. Rule breakers win the day.
I am so looking forward to the next book, you have me totally hooked
